"Unexpectedly, seventeen people passed this round, including two from the Inland Realm."

The person in Confucian robes on the left flipped his hand and took out a document to check.

"Qin Dynasty, Chu Ming."

"Shun Kingdom, Wang Ru... Wang Ru, what a fine name."

"..."

In the courtyard ahead.

"Brother, you don’t look very old, probably not yet twenty."

Taking advantage of the gap between tests, Wang Ru from the Shun Kingdom proactively spoke to Chu Ming.

"My name is Wang Ru, I’m from Shun Kingdom."

Wang Ru thought that those who had passed the first test were not simple and felt it necessary to make acquaintances.

"Chu Ming, from Qin Kingdom."

"Greetings."

"Greetings."

"..."

Wang Ru didn’t say much, just reported his name and then stopped speaking.

While the two were talking, a dozen others inside and to the right were also whispering about something.

Listening closely, the gist was that they were asking each other what words they saw on the writing paper just now.

These Celestial Veil Kingdom dignitaries discussed among themselves, casting scornful yet wary glances towards Chu Ming and Wang Ru.

While waiting in the courtyard, more than forty people who had been eliminated earlier left the Confucius Temple, immediately drawing the gaze of many outside.

Ji Wujiang sat in a tavern across the street from the Confucius Temple, and when he saw people exiting, he immediately watched closely.

After scanning the crowd, he didn’t see Chu Ming, so he subtly relaxed his grip on the wine cup.

But just as he was relaxing, he sensed a sharp gaze.

Looking up outside, he glanced sideways and saw a person in the tavern glaring at him darkly.

When Ji Wujiang saw this person, his face immediately darkened.

"Shun Country Jin Yuntang!"

He suddenly clenched his wine cup as if he would crush it.

Inside the tavern.

The Shun Country Jin Yuntang also twisted his chopsticks; if not for the tavern’s property, the chopsticks might have broken.

He snorted coldly, threw down a gold ingot impatiently, and then walked briskly to the tavern where Ji Wujiang was.

"Waiter," Jin Yuntang pointed at Ji Wujiang’s table, "bring me the same wine and dishes as that table!"

"Alright."

Soon, the wine and dishes were served, Jin Yuntang ate a few mouthfuls, then slowly raised his head, his expression changed.

"Oh, isn’t this Brother Ji?"

With that, he grabbed a jug of wine and sat at Ji Wujiang’s table.

"Is Brother Ji here because he has a younger generation participating in the Confucius Temple challenge?" Jin Yuntang drank the wine himself and started eating Ji Wujiang’s dishes.

Ji Wujiang kept a calm face, merely glancing at Jin Yuntang, unwilling to speak more.

"I heard that a Tier Six Evil appeared in the Qin Kingdom recently, and nobody in the entire Qin Kingdom could handle it. Later, it was a foreign Sixth Realm Primordial Qi Warrior who resolved the crisis."

"Is Brother Ji intending to use the opportunity at the Celestial Veil Kingdom’s Confucius Temple to cultivate a high-tier Primordial Qi Warrior for the Qin Kingdom?"

Jin Yuntang continued speaking.

"Actually, Brother Ji, if you had sent word to me at that time, our Shun Kingdom would have definitely dispatched a high-tier Primordial Qi Warrior to assist you."

The incessant chatter in his ear, Ji Wujiang adopted a stone-cold face: "Finish talking, then leave."

Jin Yuntang bit his teeth, suppressing his voice, and sneered: "It’s quite a pity that the Tier Six Evil didn’t destroy the Qin Kingdom!"

"Ji Wujiang, with your Qin Kingdom, you dare delusionally aspire to the literary cultivation methods of the Celestial Veil Kingdom, simply delusional!"

After speaking, Jin Yuntang grabbed a piece of meat and returned to his seat.

Ji Wujiang’s heart surged with anger.

Yet glancing at the Confucius Temple, his eyes flashed with keen light.

"Jin Yuntang, your presence here suggests you also have younger generations participating in the Confucius Temple challenge, doesn’t it?"

"So what if that’s true." Jin Yuntang sneered: "Ji Wujiang, seeing your face, it seems the younger members of your Qin Kingdom have passed the first test, and our Shun Kingdom has too."

"How about this, you represent your Qin Kingdom, I’ll represent our Shun Kingdom, and we’ll have a contest to see whose younger members exit the Confucius Temple first and last."

Ji Wujiang’s eyes shifted, a smile of triumph speculated at the corners of his mouth.

Exit first or last?

Your Shun Kingdom’s juniors may come and go seven times, and that Chu Ming kid may not even come out.

With Chu Ming’s ability, he’s sure to pass all tests and enter the Confucius Temple.

"If it’s a contest, there should be stakes," Ji Wujiang said.

"A second-class Spirit Treasure!" Jin Yuntang replied without thinking.

Spirit Treasure?

That statement instantly stirred many people’s attention, causing shock or greed.

But when Ji Wujiang and Jin Yuntang simultaneously exuded their Sea of Qi Realm aura, those people were so frightened they dared not look anymore.

"Jin Yuntang, you’re still so petty." Ji Wujiang laughed: "If we’re competing, let’s raise the stakes."

"Hmph, Ji Wujiang, quite an audacious claim, I’m talking about a first-class Spirit Treasure, can you afford it?"

"I can afford it!" Ji Wujiang quickly responded.

Jin Yuntang paused, evidently surprised that Ji Wujiang would wager a first-class Spirit Treasure.

"What, the mighty first warrior of Shun Kingdom can’t afford it?"

"What’s there to not afford; one first-class Spirit Treasure isn’t enough, then add five hundred Star Sand!" Jin Yuntang snorted coldly.

"Confirmed?" Ji Wujiang was delighted.

"Confirmed!" Jin Yuntang waved a large hand, "Waiter, get your Shopkeeper."

"Alright." The waiter quickly sought the tavern’s shopkeeper.

"Two esteemed patrons, such a large wager, I’m afraid I dare not decide. How about asking that master as a witness?" The shopkeeper pointed to a young man at an inner table.

This person sat alone at a table, donning white Confucian robes, complacently sipping wine.

"Shopkeeper, I came here during a break for a drink, and now you’re giving me a task."

The Confucian-robed youth listened to the shopkeeper, not angry but rather chuckled casually.

"Waiter, bring five more jugs of Jade Flower Dew for Lord Xuanyuan!" The shopkeeper bowed low.

"Five jugs!" Xuanyuan Ye’s eyes brightened, "I’ll accept it."

"Gentlemen, proceed."

The originally confrontational Ji Wujiang and Jin Yuntang changed expressions as soon as they heard ’Xuanyuan’.

The Celestial Veil Kingdom is home to two major surnames: Tantai and Xuanyuan.
