Marvel: God of Spotlight, The Homelander
Chapter 576 Don’t kill him
Chapter 576: Chapter 576 Don’t kill him
Thor raised his axe once more and stumbled toward Dago.
There was no suspense.
Dago landed a heavy backhand punch to his abdomen.
Thor fell again, but he crawled back up once more.
Time and time again.
Even though half of his body was contaminated by the Eternal Flame, giving off a burnt smell all over.
Even though his consciousness was blurred and his vision was left with only crimson.
Thor still stood swaying.
He couldn’t even hold onto stormbreaker, and it fell to the side.
But he was still empty-handed, striking a combat posture.
Blood constantly overflowed from his mouth, but he was murmuring the names that were crucial to him.
"For... Odin..."
"For... Frigga..."
"For... Jane..."
"For... Anthony..."
"For... Loki..."
Thor’s consciousness was already drifting on the verge of collapse, but he kept crawling up and walking toward Dago.
His movements grew slower and slower, and the light of the thunder grew weaker and weaker, but the fire in his eyes never went out.
All the spectators were deeply moved by Thor’s tragic and heroic will to fight.
Even those bloodthirsty alien gamblers and those jeering cosmic scum stopped their clamor at this moment.
They looked at the man who fell down and stood back up again and again amidst magma and raging fire.
Unaccountably, a sense of awe arose in their hearts.
"Are all Asgardians this durable? This physical fitness is simply outrageous."
"I bet one hundred thousand credits as an upset for him to lose, but now, I hope he can win," an interstellar gambler said with reddened eye sockets.
"The Son of Odin truly lives up to his reputation."
"Why? Why won’t he just give up?"
"I’ve only seen this kind of terrifying willpower in the Space Marines of the Warhammer Empire. Yet he is fighting desperately for a low-class Planet."
"Today, I have truly witnessed the glory of Asgard. Even if he loses, his defeat is still honorable."
And on Earth, Thor’s tragic heroism tugged at the hearts of billions of people even more.
Sadness, sympathy, admiration, anger.
Countless complex emotions intertwined in the hearts of the global public.
These emotions transformed into an invisible torrent of popularity, continuously pouring into Homelander’s system panel.
And Homelander was acting like a total drama queen right now.
His eye sockets were slightly red, and his lips were tightly pursed, as if enduring immense inner torment.
Perfectly portraying the image of a flawless leader who felt heartbroken for his comrade-in-arms, yet had to painfully stand by for the greater good.
But in reality, he was silently giving instructions to Dago.
"Well done, Dago! The lines just now were spoken well and very complete. The drawback is that the emotion wasn’t full enough, pay more attention to it next time."
"Control your strength next time, don’t beat him to death. Drag it out a little longer and squeeze the audience’s emotions a bit more."
Receiving the order, Dago understood tacitly.
Next was another one-sided massacre.
He constantly battered Thor with his fists, knee strikes, and elbow blows.
Finally, a heavy punch from Dago imbued with the Omega Effect landed solidly on Thor’s temple.
Thor rolled a few times and finally lay prone on the ground, motionless.
Ten seconds passed.
Thor did not crawl up again.
"Humph, boring game."
Dago sneered and turned around, back facing Thor, preparing to leave the arena.
The Grandmaster’s holographic projection immediately appeared in the air, preparing to announce the match result.
"Ladies and gentlemen! It looks like the victor has been decided!" There was a hint of lingering satisfaction in his voice.
"This is truly a cruel battle; the Thor of Asgard has displayed astonishing perseverance. But unfortunately, he is not favored by destiny."
"Now, I announce that the winner of this duel is—"
Before he finished speaking, the Grandmaster suddenly widened his eyes, crying out in alarm as if he had seen a ghost.
"Oh my god... Wait! Look!"
The entire audience also burst into a chorus of unbelievable exclamations.
As it turned out, Thor, who had originally fallen in a pool of blood and was about to be ruled out, stood up once again.
But Thor’s state at this moment was completely different from before.
He kept his head lowered, his golden hair tips gently lifted by an invisible force, slowly fluttering in the air.
And the air around him seemed to have frozen, terrifyingly quiet.
A thin layer of thunder light flowed quietly against his skin.
There was no violent sound, only the tranquility like water.
What was even more peculiar was that the Eternal Flame attached to his body was extinguished silently.
Thor slowly raised his head.
His bloodshot eyes had all turned white at this moment, without any extra color.
In those eyes, neither anger nor joy could be seen, nor could a shred of stray thought be found.
A serious expression finally appeared on Dago’s face.
On this man, he could not sense a shred of killing intent, nor could he sense any fighting spirit.
But in Dago’s perception, this man’s level of threat was skyrocketing exponentially.
Dago put away all his contempt.
He exerted force with his legs, appearing in front of Thor like a teleportation.
His arm hacked down high like a battle axe, directly aiming for Thor’s head.
And Thor didn’t even look.
His body didn’t even make a preparatory movement, just taking half a step to the left extremely naturally.
Dago’s arm smashed down against Thor’s shoulder, shattering the rock below.
Missed?
Dago frowned.
He immediately changed his move, his left fist carrying red energy violently striking Thor’s abdomen.
Thor’s body drifted back by a meter like catkin.
Just this short meter made Dago’s fist stop right at the edge of the clothing on Thor’s abdomen.
The attacks all missed.
The next second, Thor counterattacked.
There was no build-up of force, nor any flashy movements.
Thor’s right fist moved from bottom to top, tracing a perfect arc, accurately striking Dago’s chin.
Bang!
A muffled sound.
Dago’s massive body was directly hit off his feet by this punch, sent flying out.
In mid-air, Dago forcibly twisted his body to land, but his footsteps staggered for a while, and a slight pain came from his jawbone.
The power of this punch also raised a trace of surprise in Dago’s heart.
This was 100% force transmission, without a single shred of kinetic energy wasted in the air.
Every muscle and every bone of Thor perfectly coordinated to exert force at this very instant.
And Thor did not pursue at this moment.
He still stood quietly in place, his silver-white eyes hollowly gazing at Dago not far away.
Free stance, ultimate fist intent.
Dago was a bit angry; the dignity of a New God could not be trampled upon.
And he, having been assimilated, shouldn’t have had these emotions.
He let out a wild roar, his double fists attacking Thor like a torrential storm.
However, Thor seemed as though he could predict the future.
He strolled leisurely amidst the shadows of Dago’s fists.
Not a single one of Dago’s consecutive attacks was able to touch Thor’s body.
And in the gaps of Dago’s attacks, Thor made his move.
