Chapter 47 Madame Hydra Being the Foundation’s Dog
Plenty of People Would Kill for the Chance!
47: Madame Hydra: Being the Foundation’s Dog?
Plenty of People Would Kill for the Chance!
The V-44X Blackfish transport landed at the airfield of the Foundation’s Paradise Island Base.
The moment Ethan stepped off the aircraft, a major from the base logistics department approached him with a manifest in hand.
“Sir, Foundation Headquarters has delivered another batch of support.” “It includes four new-model aircraft and two top-secret black boxes.” Ethan took the manifest and casually replied, “I’ve received it.
Thank you for the report.” “Glad to be of service, sir.” The major saluted and walked away, his expression filled with obvious respect.
Ophelia looked toward the four aircraft parked beside the airfield and couldn’t help expressing her admiration.
“Are those the Foundation’s new fighters?” “They’re…
beautiful.” At the center of the airfield rested an extraordinarily streamlined, black-and-white forward-swept-wing fighter.
It sat there like a proud queen surveying everything around her.
Beside it were three red-and-white aircraft.
None of the three possessed conventional cockpits.
Instead, the cockpit sections had been replaced by powerful supercomputers.
Even more astonishingly, each of the three unmanned fighters carried a red warhead marked with the familiar nuclear symbol.
Ethan admired the Queen of the Skies for a moment before nodding.
“Yeah.” “That’s my personal aircraft.” “It was just delivered.” Ophelia suddenly felt a chill.
So the Foundation was still holding back.
Those four aircraft alone might have been enough to effortlessly destroy a Chaos Insurgency base.
The three FRX-99 Light Cavalry unmanned fighters shocked her even more.
Just the line of weapons waiting beside them was enough to make any military professional nervous.
Forget the collection of unfamiliar missiles for a moment.
Each aircraft was equipped with an electromagnetic cannon.
That alone made Ophelia’s scalp tingle.
How far ahead was this technology?
A century?
Perhaps even more?
And each unmanned fighter’s central compartment consisted of a supercomputer paired with a tactical nuclear warhead.
In an emergency, the aircraft itself could clearly be turned into a nuclear weapon.
What kind of monsters are these things supposed to fight?
Cold sweat appeared on Ophelia’s forehead.
Her adjutant Leah was even more stunned.
The technological foundation represented by these four aircraft alone was enough to inspire fear.
And according to the logistics officer’s report, two top-secret black boxes had arrived alongside them.
Who knew what horrifying things were inside those?
After her initial shock, Ophelia gradually began feeling fortunate.
Thank goodness she’d known when to surrender.
If the Foundation had truly decided to crush them without restraint, then at the very least, the North American branch of the Chaos Insurgency under her leadership would almost certainly have been wiped out.
So what if she’d submitted to the Foundation?
With this kind of strength behind them, surrendering wasn’t humiliating at all.
What was wrong with being the Foundation’s dog?
There were probably countless people who would love to become the Foundation’s dog and never even receive the opportunity!
Besides— The predecessors of their Chaos Insurgency had been legitimate followers of the Supreme Council.
Their lineage was far more respectable than those random outsiders who joined halfway through.
Ethan had no idea that simply seeing Yukikaze and her three Light Cavalry drones had already caused Ophelia to begin enthusiastically rationalizing her surrender.
Then again, it made sense.
As Madame Hydra and the Grand Duchess of Hydra, Ophelia was extremely knowledgeable.
She had seen all kinds of weapons and military equipment throughout her life.
And as a former field agent, she knew enough to recognize truly advanced technology when she saw it.
As one retired old man had supposedly said— The more beautiful an aircraft or warship looked, the stronger it tended to be.
Just look at Yukikaze.
That silhouette.
Those elegant lines.
That forward-swept-wing configuration.
Compared with her, even the Foundation’s previous F/A-181 fifth-generation all-weather fighters looked like ugly ducklings.
What?
Forward-swept wings had already been abandoned by the United States and other major powers?
And the aircraft didn’t even seem to have conventional stealth coating, so perhaps its combat performance wasn’t that impressive?
Nonsense.
This was a brand-new Foundation fighter.
The Foundation’s technology was unparalleled.
Did ordinary military engineers seriously think they understood better than the Foundation?
For all anyone knew, this aircraft had been designed to fight aliens.
In short, amateurs admired appearances while experts understood the details.
But there was one thing both groups could agree on— The better a weapon looked, the stronger it probably was.
If these four advanced aircraft existed only as animation or concept art, people might merely think they looked cool.
But when machines like these truly appeared in front of you…
Only then could you feel the overwhelming shock produced by advanced technology combined with industrial beauty.
Precisely because Ophelia understood military technology so well, she knew the instant she saw Yukikaze that the Foundation’s technological strength far surpassed that of the Chaos Insurgency.
Faced with such a terrifying organization, she was deeply relieved that it was no longer her enemy.
It was now her master.
Under such overwhelming power, serving the Foundation wasn’t shameful at all.
Once again— Countless people would gladly do it if they were given the chance.
Ethan had absolutely no idea that the alluring woman walking behind him was already thinking like a serpent about how she could secure her position and remain favored by her new master.
He walked up beside Yukikaze and stared through the cockpit canopy.
He could barely suppress the urge to climb into the pilot’s seat immediately and experience the power of the strongest atmospheric fighter for himself.
Compared with this— What was exciting about driving a supercar?
This was a super fighter jet.
Unfortunately, he still needed to take Ophelia to the Science Department so William could deal with the hidden dangers caused by the T-virus inside her body.
Ethan affectionately ran one hand across the 001 designation painted on the aircraft’s fuselage.
He sighed with admiration.
“Ah…” “I really want to fly her.” “FFR-41MR…” “Battle Fairy Yukikaze, Queen of the Skies.” “The strongest fighter on Earth.” A light inside the cockpit seemed to flicker faintly.
Ethan then turned toward Ophelia.
“Come on, Madame Ophelia.” “It’s time to deal with the hidden danger the T-virus has left inside your body.”
