The Bifrost was essentially a form of controllable wormhole technology. If an ordinary person were to experience it for the first time, they might suffer from dizziness and nausea, but Daniel was someone who could physically travel through wormholes in the flesh.

As a result, while being transported by the Bifrost, he spent the time observing the shifts in space with keen interest.

Before long, the group arrived in Asgard, the legendary Realm of the Gods.

Although the gods of Asgard weren’t particularly impressive in terms of sheer power, to be completely honest, Asgard genuinely looked like a place fit for deities.

It was breathtaking, like a fairy tale paradise. The azure sky stretched out crystal-clear and bright.

Majestic castles and floating pillars created a sight that was deeply pleasing to the eye.

Daniel took in the stunning views of Asgard. With his extraordinary vision, he could see much farther and clearer than anyone else. The people of Asgard lived happy lives, every face beaming with smiles that came straight from the heart.

"It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Everyone lives such happy lives here," Thor said, having recovered his spirits as he smiled at Daniel.

Every time he returned to Asgard, Thor felt a sense of peace settling over him. Now that he had gotten over his temporary despair, he had reverted right back to his brainless God of Thunder self.

"Mm," Daniel offered a brief reply.

"Under my father’s rule, we Asgardians enjoy a wonderful life. When I ascend the throne, I’ll make sure our people remain just as happy," Thor told Daniel.

Beside them, Loki’s face darkened, though Thor failed to notice.

Daniel didn’t bother responding to Thor, feeling no urge to point out the obvious. What did a brute like Thor know about anything?

Even though Daniel considered himself a bit dense at times, he still had moments where his brain actually worked. Thor, on the other hand, had an IQ that permanently hovered below sea level.

Why were the Asgardians able to live so comfortably? Having traveled across the universe, Daniel could see the reason clearly.

It was simply because Odin had built a strong foundation. After centuries of ruling the Nine Realms, Asgard had accumulated immense wealth and resources, allowing its people to enjoy a life far more comfortable than most other realms.

Compared with Asgard, many of the other realms seemed to have a much harder time.

Thor also occasionally traveled to those realms to deal with conflicts and rebellions. Daniel couldn’t help but find it a little amusing.

Still, those were Asgard’s affairs, so Daniel had no intention of getting involved.

He had committed plenty of mistakes himself, and even if those bad deeds weren’t done on Earth, he was still considered quite infamous out in the galaxy.

"Let’s go."

Thor took the lead, walking along the Bifrost toward the massive fortress at its center.

The moment they returned to Asgard, Thor was back on his home turf. His confidence returned almost instantly, and he walked with the swagger of a prince who owned the place which, technically, he did.

When they reached the royal castle, Sif and the others went their separate ways, heading home. That left only Daniel, Thor, and Loki.

"Let’s go meet my father. He wants to see you," Thor called out.

Daniel nodded without objection. He was actually quite interested in meeting Odin himself.

Following Thor into the throne room, they found Odin already seated on his throne, waiting for the three of them.

Magnificent murals were carved into the upper walls of the hall, depicting scenes of Odin bringing peace to the Nine Realms and leading his people toward a happy, prosperous life.

Having seen Thor: Ragnarok, Daniel looked up to inspect the murals more closely. Sure enough, using his X-Ray Vision, he saw another layer hidden beneath, depicting scenes of Hela and Odin conquering realms together.

Looking at Hela, Daniel felt a bit of sympathy for her.

She had clearly fought alongside Odin and spilled blood for Asgard. She’d helped build the kingdom into what it was, but unfortunately, she had been too good at it.

Once Odin grew tired of war and began seeking peace, Hela had become a problem. Worse, her strength and ambition were so great that even Odin eventually saw her as a threat. So, he sealed her away.

In comparison, Thor was much luckier.

Odin was growing old, and the time had come for him to think about the future of Asgard.

Thor was his only biological son. Loki had been raised as his own, and after thousands of years together, the two had formed a deep bond. Still, when it came to the throne, Odin’s hopes naturally rested with Thor.

After all, Thor was the son who would one day inherit his father’s legacy.

Daniel couldn’t help but wonder about Hela. If she had been a son, would things have turned out differently?

There was no way to know. And considering how long ago all of this had happened, Daniel decided it was probably better not to ask Odin.

While Daniel’s mind was wandering, Odin’s voice snapped him out of it.

Because Daniel was present, Odin didn’t scold Thor too harshly, simply saying to Thor and Loki in a calm tone, "Both of you, go back to your rooms and think about what you’ve done."

Thor looked mildly surprised by how easy he’d gotten off. Loki didn’t give him time to question it. He grabbed Thor and quickly dragged him out of the throne room. Soon, only Daniel and Odin remained.

"I’ve been watching you for a long time," Odin said with a smile.

He rose from his throne and slowly walked down the steps. The intimidating presence seemed to disappear as he approached. By the time he reached Daniel, he looked less like an ancient king and more like a kindly old grandfather.

Daniel found that line oddly familiar, as if someone had said something similar to him before. With a flash of insight, Daniel remembered, Ancient One had said the exact same thing to him.

Suppressing a wave of internal snarks, Daniel looked at Odin with a smile and said, "Is that so?"

"You certainly made quite a scene five years ago," Odin said with a subtle implication.

Hearing Odin mention it, Daniel recalled that five years ago during his evolution, he had indeed felt someone watching him. At the time, he was too thrilled by his new abilities to pay much attention, but thinking back now, the person watching him had probably been Odin.

"That was an accident," Daniel said.

Back then, his evolution had caused the entire solar system to go dark for few seconds, and it had caused quite a panic on Earth.

Eventually, the authorities had explained the incident away as a solar eclipse and buried the truth.

That explanation had fooled the general public, but plenty of people remained suspicious. Some scientists had even begun arguing that it couldn’t possibly have been a solar eclipse. But they never got very far with those theories.

"I was actually looking forward to meeting you back then," Odin continued. "I never expected it would take five years."

Daniel gave a vague reply. Now that he was actually standing in front of Odin, he wasn’t sure what else to say.

And, honestly, he was a little disappointed.

Before meeting Odin, Daniel had imagined the All-Father would be an incredibly powerful being. But now that he was standing this close, Daniel could clearly sense Odin’s strength: it was so average.

Daniel couldn’t help but feel a wave of emptiness inside, finding the whole thing rather dull.

When you became powerful enough that almost nothing in the universe could threaten you, meeting another legendary powerhouse and discovering that he wasn’t even close to your level was surprisingly anticlimactic.

Odin was by no means weak. Before Daniel’s evolution, he had possessed enough strength to challenge Daniel and keep up with him for a while. But everything had changed after Daniel’s evolution. The difference in their power had grown so vast that Odin, once a formidable opponent, now seemed almost insignificant by comparison.

If Daniel went all out, Odin probably couldn’t withstand more than a few direct blows. Truth be told, even when he fought Thanos last time, Daniel had held back quiet a lot; otherwise, the guy would have been turned to dust on the spot.

He had claimed to use a certain percentage of his power, but only Daniel knew how much he had actually used.

He was just worried that if he killed Thanos too soon, things would get boring later on.

It couldn’t be helped. This was the movie universe, where the directors didn’t have enough budget, so all the big shots had their power nerfed.

Daniel was different, he was the buffed version.

In fact, Daniel was almost tempted to let Thanos collect all six Infinity Stones. That would probably be pretty interesting.

But he wasn’t quite reckless enough to try it. What if he pushed the joke too far and actually broke the story? That would be a problem.

He was simply too strong now, so everything felt kind of boring. There was no challenge left, no danger, no real opponent.

And without those things, even the most spectacular events in the universe could start feeling mundane.

Daniel looked at Odin and sighed inwardly.

’This is so boring.’
