Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Space Junk

As everyone knew, there were three kings of skipping class at MIT. The three of them never attended morning lectures. Every single morning, they stayed buried under their blankets in the dorm, sleeping like the world was ending.

Daniel, Tony, and T’Challa.

So, when Daniel came rushing back in excitement, Tony was still fast asleep.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The siblings really were alike in some ways, both knocked on doors loud enough to wake the dead.

"Tony! Get up already!" Daniel shouted from outside.

After nearly a full minute of relentless pounding, Tony finally dragged himself out of bed. Eyes half open and yawning nonstop, he shuffled to the door and pulled it open.

"What the hell is wrong with you this early in the morning?" Tony snapped.

Being woken up in the middle of a perfectly good sleep made him want to punch somebody.

"I dragged the meteorite back! Come on, help me sell it!"

Daniel completely ignored Tony’s irritation and grinned excitedly.

Tony stared at him, then stared some more. So that was it? He thought something important had happened. The idiot had come all the way here just to ask him to help sell a meteorite.

"No!" Tony immediately refused. "I’m going back to sleep!"

Not happening, absolutely not.

"Hurry up!"

Before Tony could react, Daniel grabbed him and lifted him straight off the ground. Then he started shaking him violently.

"You’re awake now, right? No need to sleep anymore. Let’s go look at the goods!"

"Cough, cough, cough!"

Tony’s face turned bright red from the shaking. Every trace of sleep vanished instantly.

Ever since everyone learned how absurdly powerful Daniel really was, he had completely stopped pretending. It was like he thought, ’It’s fine, all cards are on the table, so no need to bother much.’

"Put me down!" Tony shouted furiously.

He was still dangling in the air.

"Promise you’ll come help me sell the meteorite first."

Daniel showed no intention of letting go. It wasn’t like lifting Tony took any effort. The guy weighed practically nothing and even if he weighed thousands of times more, Daniel could still hold him up with one hand.

Tony kicked his legs wildly. First, he tried kicking Daniel’s shin, then immediately gave up. It was too hard, and his foot hurt.

"Fine! I’ll go! I’ll go!"

Only then did Daniel set him back down. The moment his feet touched the ground, Tony took a deep breath, spun around, ran into his room, and slammed the door shut.

Bang!

"You can go by yourself! I’m not going! Not now, not ever!"

After treating him like that, Daniel still expected him to help sell meteorites? Just dream on.

"You promised me!" Daniel protested from outside.

"I changed my mind!"

"Tony, do you know what happened to the last person who lied to me?"

"I don’t know," Tony replied impatiently. Then curiosity got the better of him. "What happened?"

"I don’t know either. Nobody’s ever lied to me before."

Daniel’s voice drifted through the door.

"I’m currently considering whether I should carry you around campus for a full lap."

Tony froze. A vivid image immediately appeared in his mind. Daniel carrying him around like a rag doll while the entire university watched. His whole body shuddered, that would be humiliating beyond words.

"Wait there! Let me freshen up!"

"Hurry up. I left the meteorite out in the countryside. Nobody’s watching it!"

As he spoke, Daniel’s gaze shifted toward the distant location of his precious meteorite. Fortunately, nobody had discovered it yet.

"Yeah, yeah, I got it!" Tony shouted back.

Naturally, Tony took his sweet time. He intentionally dragged things out for nearly half an hour before finally walking out looking refreshed and presentable. His eyes landed on Daniel’s suit.

"Nice tights."

Daniel couldn’t even be bothered responding. He knew exactly what that was. Jealousy, just pure jealousy of his perfect physique.

"Let’s go," Daniel said.

"Sure. Where is it?"

"In the suburbs outside Boston."

Daniel reached out towards him.

"I’ll fly you there."

Tony instantly jumped backward.

"Nope."

Daniel blinked.

"What?"

"You want to fly me there?"

"Yeah."

Daniel nodded.

"I’ll carry you there."

Tony imagined that scene and immediately rejected.

"No need to do all that." He shook his head furiously. "Just give me the address. I’ll call a helicopter."

There was no way Tony Stark was going to let himself get carried around, he had an image to maintain.

"I’m taking a helicopter," he repeated firmly.

Daniel shrugged.

"Fine. Suit yourself but just hurry up."

Then he pointed towards the horizon. "I’ll head over first. Somebody has to guard it."

As soon as he finished speaking, he launched into the sky. His bright red cape fluttered behind him as he disappeared into the distance. Tony watched him leave, then curled his lip in annoyance.

"Just wait, you muscle brained monkey." He folded his arms. "The day I figure out how to deal with you, I’m going to beat the hell out of you."

And just like that, another person had joined the growing list of people who wanted to punch Daniel.

An hour later.

Tony stepped off a helicopter while chewing on a hamburger. He even had another one neatly wrapped in his hand.

"Give me one."

Daniel immediately became interested. Before Tony could refuse, before he could even react the hamburger was already gone. Now it was in Daniel’s mouth, after taking a bite, Daniel nodded approvingly.

"It’s pretty good."

Tony’s forehead twitched and veins nearly popped out. This guy was becoming more annoying every single day, his brain hurt from anger. After silently reminding himself not to argue with barbarians, Tony took a deep breath.

"Where’s the meteorite?"

"Wait."

While waiting for Tony earlier, Daniel had come to a realization. A meteorite this large sitting in plain sight was way too conspicuous. What if somebody saw it? What if somebody tried to steal his precious treasure?

In a moment of unparalleled genius, Daniel had punched the meteorite directly into the ground.

At this point, his entire brain was filled with thoughts of money. His IQ had effectively dropped into negative numbers.

Now Daniel dug into the earth and pulled it back out. A meteorite nearly three meters in diameter emerged from underground. Its surface was dark and blackened.

Tony stared at it. For some reason, it reminded him of something he’d flushed away yesterday. He walked over and inspected it carefully.

He touched the surface, examined the texture, then slowly circled around it once. The longer he looked, the happier he became. Inside, he was practically celebrating.

As expected, Daniel had brought back the wrong one. This thing wasn’t worth much at all. Tony almost laughed out loud. He felt fantastic.

"This one is a stony meteorite."

He deliberately put on a disappointed expression.

"So, it’s not worth much."

"What?"

Daniel stared at him in disbelief. "Aren’t meteorites supposed to be valuable?"

"That’s because you never read."

Tony shook his head dramatically.

"What a waste of that giant super brain of yours."

Then he continued in a scholarly tone.

"In order to help you sell meteorites, I did some research."

"Meteorites are generally divided into three categories: stony meteorites, iron meteorites, and stony-iron meteorites."

He pointed at the giant rock.

"This one is a stony meteorite."

"Ninety-five percent of all meteorites are stony meteorites, which makes them the least valuable."

He continued analyzing it.

"And another thing, the largest stony meteorite ever found on Earth isn’t even half this size."

He knocked on the surface.

"The atmospheric burn marks are incomplete too."

"It’s obvious you brought it back too fast."

"If anyone sees this thing, they’ll probably suspect it’s fake."

Tony’s expression remained completely serious. He sounded extremely professional.

"Really not worth much?" Daniel asked.

"Really."

Tony nodded immediately.

"If I’m lying, may I be unable to touch a woman for six months."

Daniel stared at him several times, trying to determine whether he was joking. Eventually, his shoulders slumped.

"Fine."

Tony almost burst out laughing, but he held it in. Then he patted Daniel’s shoulder sympathetically.

"It’s okay, Daniel."

"Just make a few more trips."

"Eventually you’ll find a valuable one."

He pointed towards the sky.

"Stony-iron meteorites are the most valuable."

"Find one of those and bring it back."

"Just one could sell for over a million dollars."

"Only a million?" Daniel asked.

That sounded incredibly low.

How many trips would he need to make before becoming a billionaire?

Daniel had a small goal: earn one hundred million first.

Of course, he conveniently forgot what era this was. The U.S. dollar was still extremely valuable, and the meteorite market wasn’t remotely as hot as it would become in later years.

Daniel was devastated. His meteorite fortune dream had suffered a crushing blow. So, no more hauling meteorites.

Last night, he had actually looked up information himself. Unfortunately, after reading a few pages, he had fallen asleep with the book sitting on his face. Suddenly, Daniel grabbed Tony by the shoulders.

"Tony."

"What?"

"Does your family launch satellites?"

Daniel looked at him hopefully.

"I can help send them into orbit."

After considerable effort, Tony managed to free himself from Daniel’s grip. Then he snapped his fingers.

"There is no need for that."

"Our company already has enough satellites."

He paused and his eyes slowly swept over Daniel from head to toe, then a smile appeared.

"Although..."

"My family’s security department is missing a captain."

Tony nodded thoughtfully.

"I think you’d be perfect."

"A monthly salary of thirty thousand dollars."

Daniel stared at him, then replied with just two words.

"Fuck Off!"
