Marvel: Reincarnated as the Fire Goddess of Asgard
Chapter 234 235: Each Showing Their Prowess
Thor snorted. "Who said I wanted to catch you?"
He raised Mjolnir, and lightning descended from the sky, striking the hammerhead.
The blue electric light Swirled outwards from him, forming a circular electric net.
No matter how fast Makkari was, she could not outrun electricity; she was struck by the electric net, her body stiffened, and her speed slowed down.
Thor seized the opportunity and smashed his hammer at her.
Makkari gritted her teeth and forced herself to accelerate, dodging the hammer, but her arm was grazed by the lightning, leaving a charred mark.
She retreated to a distance, looking down at the wound on her arm, her expression becoming grave.
Gilgamesh charged up.
His strength was proportional to his physique; every step left deep footprints on the ground. He had no weapons, but his fists were his weapons.
He lunged at Thor, his right fist wrapped in Cosmic Energy, smashing towards Thor's chest.
Thor did not dodge; he raised his left arm to block.
Fist met arm, erupting with a dull boom. Thor stepped back twice, and Gilgamesh also stepped back twice. The two looked at each other, both seeing the surprise in the other's eyes.
"Your strength is truly not small," Thor said.
Gilgamesh did not speak; he lunged again, this time with both fists.
Thor also charged forward. The two collided like two moving mountains, fists and feet clashing, the sound as dense as thunder.
The ground cracked beneath their feet, gravel splattered, and the air itself vibrated.
Thor's strength was on par with Gilgamesh's, but Thor had Mjolnir. He smashed the hammer at Gilgamesh's shoulder; Gilgamesh dodged to the side, and the hammer smashed into the ground behind him, blasting out a two-meter deep pit.
Gilgamesh seized the gap while Thor was retracting his hammer and punched Thor in the abdomen.
Thor grunted, stepping back half a step, but he did not fall. He backhanded a hammer blow onto Gilgamesh's back, causing Gilgamesh to stumble two steps and kneel on one knee.
The two pulled apart again, glaring at each other.
Tina made her move.
The Cosmic Energy daggers in her hands transformed into two long swords, golden light flowing along the blades. Her swordsmanship was precise and fierce; every strike aimed for a vital point, and every strike carried thousands of years of combat experience.
Thor exchanged a few blows with her and found his hammer technique was not as exquisite as her swordsmanship. His hammer was heavy and powerful, but Tina's sword was as fast as lightning, each strike coming from a tricky angle, leaving him unable to defend effectively.
"Loki!" Thor shouted.
Loki did not answer; he was busy dealing with Sprite and Druig.
Sprite's illusions shrouded the entire battlefield. Loki saw three Thors, two Helas, and four Mavuikas appear before him—no, they were fake.
He could, of course, see through the illusions, because he was the God of Mischief, and illusion was his domain.
But Sprite's illusions were not magic; they were fabrications woven from Cosmic Energy, fundamentally different from Loki's illusions.
Loki closed his eyes, using magic to perceive the energy fluctuations around him.
There was a subtle difference between the real and the fake; the real energy was denser, and the fake energy was more scattered. He found Sprite's location, raised his hand, and a bolt of green magic energy shot towards her.
Sprite shrieked, the illusions shattered, and she clutched her shoulder, retreating a few steps, looking at Loki with fear in her eyes.
"How did you see through it?"
Loki opened his eyes, the corners of his mouth curling slightly.
"That was not difficult."
Druig seized the opportunity to attack.
His dark red energy Swirled silently, shrouding Loki. Loki felt his emotions changing—not anger, not fear, but a strange calmness that made one want to put down their weapons.
He gritted his teeth, resisting the emotional intrusion, but no matter how strong his will was, he could not be completely immune to emotional manipulation. His hand slowly lowered, and the magic light at his fingertips extinguished.
The corners of Druig's mouth curled slightly.
Then, a gold-red Fire flew in from the side, striking Druig's chest.
Druig screamed and flew backward, crashing into a tree behind him. His emotional manipulation was interrupted, and Loki regained his clarity.
Mavuika stood not far away, his right hand still holding the throwing posture. He glanced at Loki.
"Be careful."
Loki nodded and re-condensed his magic light.
Mavuika had no time to look at the others; Phastos's weapon was already aimed at him.
Phastos pushed a small cart, and the equipment on it rapidly transformed, from a pile of parts into a small energy cannon. The muzzle glowed with golden light, and energy was condensing.
He pressed a button, and the energy cannon fired a thick beam of light, heading straight for Mavuika.
Mavuika did not dodge; he raised his hand, and gold-red Fire condensed in his palm, transforming into a Fire shield. The beam of light struck the shield, erupting with blinding light; the energy and the Fire battled, neither giving way to the other.
Phastos's energy cannon continued to output, and Mavuika's shield continued Burning. The two stalemated for a few seconds, then Phastos's energy cannon began to overheat, and blue smoke rose from the muzzle.
Phastos's brows furrowed. "Impossible—"
Mavuika withdrew the shield, raised his hand, and a stream of Fire shot toward the energy cannon. The Fire struck the muzzle, the energy cannon exploded, and fragments flew everywhere.
Phastos was flipped over by the shockwave and fell to the ground.
He looked at the wreckage of the destroyed equipment in his hands, was silent for a second, then sighed softly.
"Should have installed a few more radiators."
Kingo charged up again. This time, he no longer used energy blasts, but condensed energy into a long sword, a golden, glowing sword.
His swordsmanship was not as good as Tina's, but it was not bad either. He lunged at Mavuika, the tip of his sword stabbing straight at his chest.
Mavuika dodged to the side and backhanded a palm strike onto Kingo's wrist. Kingo's wrist went numb, the sword flew out of his hand, and he retreated a few steps, looking at Mavuika with a complex expression.
Makkari charged up again. This time, her target was not Thor, but Hela.
Hela was standing in the center of the battlefield, with a dozen black swords stuck around her. She did not take the initiative to attack, only using the black swords to defend against the incoming energy blasts and attacks.
Her posture was very relaxed, like she was walking in a garden rather than on a battlefield.
Makkari's dagger stabbed towards Hela's throat.
Hela raised his hand, and a black sword appeared out of thin air, blocking the dagger. Makkari withdrew the blade and stabbed again, but Hela blocked with the black sword.
The speed of the two was astonishing, the sound of blade colliding with sword as dense as a rainstorm.
"Your speed is not bad," Hela said.
Makkari did not speak, only quickening the frequency of her attacks.
Hela's mouth curled slightly.
She raised her hand, and three black swords emerged simultaneously from the Akasha, stabbing towards Makkari's upper, middle, and lower paths. Makkari had to retreat, the black swords grazing her clothes and leaving three slits.
Makkari retreated to a distance, looking down at the slits on her clothes, silent.
