Chapter 623 - 371: A Frost Beauty

In the end, their ambitions were sky-high, but their lives were paper-thin. Every last one of them died at the foot of the city wall.

During these three battles, only one legion of Bandit Snow Monkeys, led by a Pirate Leader Snow Ape, scaled the wall the fastest. But in the end, they too failed, perishing on their way up.

All in all, it was tense but ultimately uneventful.

The diligent Rong Taotao had gained a preliminary understanding of guard duty at Wan’an Pass. The sheer variety of Soul Beasts harassing the wall was certainly eye-opening for him, but just then, he seemed to have spotted something incredible.

Hearing Rong Taotao, Gao Lingwei asked urgently, "What is it?"

"I think it’s a Frost Beauty?" Rong Taotao’s expression was one of shock. This was the first time he had seen a Humanoid Soul Beast in over a month.

After all, the ones foolishly trying to scale the wall with no organization or discipline were all Beast-type Soul Beasts.

Rong Taotao closed his eyes, focusing on the image provided by the Snowball Cat, and saw a beautiful woman covered in blood, staggering as she walked...

She had long, messy, grayish-white hair. He could see that there had once been a wreath of small braids on her forehead, but it was now hanging askew, a picture of utter misery.

Her face, which should have been noble and enchanting, was filled with panic and even despair, making one’s heart ache just looking at her.

Her snow-colored cloak was also in tatters. To human eyes, it looked like clothing, but for a Frost Beauty, it was innate—a part of her very body.

This "garment" couldn’t be repaired. It could only "heal" passively as the Frost Beauty’s physical condition recovered.

Right now, those tattered rags were stained with crimson blood, and Rong Taotao could even see the scratches and bite marks on her snow-white skin.

The sight was absolutely shocking!

Yet he saw her struggle to turn around. With a flick of two slender fingers, WHOOSH...

A Snow Dragon Tornado rapidly formed and began to spin dozens of meters behind her. Then, ignoring it completely, the Frost Beauty continued to stumble toward the Third Wall.

To say she was running... was an overstatement. She was closer to walking. Her condition was terrible, and her speed was frighteningly slow.

Even with the Snow Dragon Tornado obstructing the view, the Snowball Cat could see everything clearly. A pack of Snowflake Wolves was clearly hunting the Frost Beauty.

’Good grief,’ he thought. ’Is this a case of a mighty tiger being tormented by mere dogs?’

Since when could Snowflake Wolves hunt a Frost Beauty?

Just how badly injured was she?

Rong Taotao immediately said, "I’m sure of it. It’s a Frost Beauty, and she’s seriously injured. A pack of Snowflake Wolves is after her."

Hearing this, Gao Lingwei was also stunned. She clearly didn’t think Snowflake Wolves could pose any threat to a Frost Beauty.

THUD. The stumbling Frost Beauty pitched forward and fell to the ground.

Using Snow Step, she had been able to stay on top of the snow. But with this fall, her entire body sank into the thick snowdrift, and in an instant, crimson blood stained the snow red.

Rong Taotao’s expression was grim. "She fell. She’s still trying to crawl toward the Third Wall."

Gao Lingwei frowned slightly. "The neutral Frost Beauty tribes have already moved inside the Third Wall.

Any Frost Beauty appearing outside Wan’an Pass must have come from a Snow Realm Vortex, meaning they aren’t considered Neutral Soul Beasts.

She might not have a group and is all alone. Of course, she could also be a member of the Soul Beast Army."

"Mm, understood," Rong Taotao said. "But if we don’t act soon, she’s going to be eaten alive by those Snowflake Wolves. What do we..."

Before Rong Taotao could finish, the Frost Beauty lying in the snow suddenly flew up. A Snow Dragon Tornado erupted from the ground, launching her toward Wan’an Pass and tracing a beautiful arc through the night sky.

It seemed the Frost Beauty had changed her strategy. Instead of trying to fight her enemies, she chose to launch herself away to escape.

THUD. She fell to the ground again.

And yet, she displayed an astonishing will to survive. Though her body was buried deep in the snow, she still struggled with all her might, crawling toward Wan’an Pass...

On a normal road, you might be able to crawl quickly, but how are you supposed to crawl through thick snow?

From the side, Cheng Border walked over. "Did you find something?"

Rong Taotao nodded. "A Frost Beauty. One. Heavily injured, being hunted by Snowflake Wolves, on the verge of death."

"A Frost Beauty?" Cheng Border froze for a second, his mind immediately starting to race.

Without a doubt, this had to be a wild Frost Beauty, one that didn’t belong to a Frost Beauty village. She wasn’t a Neutral Soul Beast.

That meant there were a lot of options.

First, a Frost Beauty’s Soul Skill, Snow Dragon Tornado, is extremely high-Quality and incredibly effective. They could kill her for her Soul Pearl.

Second, a Frost Beauty was, after all, a Humanoid Soul Beast with high intelligence. If they could capture her as a Soul Pet, it would also be an excellent choice.

Cheng Border asked urgently, "Are you sure she’s alone, heavily injured, and being pursued?"

Rong Taotao nodded immediately. "Positive. It shouldn’t be a trap. I don’t see any ambushes nearby."

Cheng Border immediately barked, "Let’s move! We’ll give her a hand—capture her first and figure out the rest later! Yi Xin, you’re on watch. Xu Yiyu, you’re with the three of us!"

This was a Humanoid Soul Beast! Incredibly valuable!

As he spoke, the group of four had already leaped down from the city wall.

The Cyan Mountain Army was different from the rest of the Guard Army on the wall. Thanks to the existence of the Snowball Cat, they were special and held a very unique authorization.

It was an authorization granted personally by the highest commander: if they discovered any valuable Soul Beast, they could leave the wall to capture it, acting first and reporting back afterward.
