Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers
Chapter 601: A Miracle Has Happened
(Author’s POV)
"Why is the door locked?" Yelena’s faint, confused voice came from the other end. She knocked thrice, breaking Myra and Brave’s emotional moment. Myra swiftly moved away from him, wiping off her tears as Elio walked towards the door to open it.
"Why was the~" Her voice trailed off, her eyes widening. "Huhh? Elio, what are you doing here? And why did you lock the door?" she was surprised to see him opening the door.
"Aaaa~ ... it got jammed," Elio made it up. She hummed and stepped inside. She was a little taken aback by Brave’s presence; her lashes fluttered without her knowing. She then noticed he was standing quite close to Myra. It made her feel irked for some reason.
Then her eyes went to Myra’s cheeks, which were streaked with tears; her eyes were swollen as well. Yelena made her way towards her friend and asked, all concerned, "Myra~ ... what happened? Why are you crying? Did~ ... any of them bully you?" She pointed towards the brothers.
Brave answered on her behalf, "She got a little emotional seeing your grandfather in this condition."
Yelena felt a bit uncomfortable seeing Brave speak for Myra, but she nodded in understanding. She then shifted her attention towards her grandfather. "Grandpa, let’s go. It’s time for our flight back home. The doctors there are waiting." Her eyes darted around the room. "Where is Secretary Grey?"
Elio pursed his lips, feeling guilty. He tilted his head to the other side, avoiding eye contact.
"Secretary Grey is in the other room. He was experiencing slight discomfort in his fractured arm. So, he is getting treated there," Myra quickly covered for him. "As for Mr. Yates Senior, it won’t be necessary anymore."
Yelena’s brow knitted. "What won’t be?" she queried.
This time, Elio came to Myra’s rescue. "Ahh~ ... what she means is, I checked up on Mr. Yates condition, on Myra’s insistence and sent the reports to my mentor, Dr. Andrew, before coming to the hospital. He said Mr. Yates’ condition can be cured. And asked me to prepare a decoction according to the requirements."
Yelena’s eyes narrowed, then expanded at his claim. "Wh~ ... what~ ... what did you just say? My grandpa~ .... he can be saved?" she choked on her words, her throat wobbled.
Elio nodded and added, "I just gave him the first dose. You can ask the doctor to run a check on him." He suggested.
Only then did Yelena notice a little red smear on Garry’s lips. She didn’t waste a single breath and rang the emergency bell right away. Within seconds, a team of doctors and nurses rushed in, followed by Liliana and Jeffery. Diana also came, supported by Henry.
"Doctor, please run a checkup on my grandfather," Yelena asked them.
"Ms. Yates, we understand your sentiments, but we already told you the patient’s condition. Nothing can be done now," one of the doctors said, sighing.
"Just do as she says," Brave asserted. His authoritative voice left them no choice. Yelena looked at him.
"Yelena, what’s going on?" Liliana asked, standing beside her. She just shook her head. She didn’t want to give them hope without confirmation.
The doctors did as instructed and were left stumped by what they found. They exchanged bewildered glances and then looked at Yelena. With astonishment in his voice, the doctor in charge spoke, "How~ ... how is this possible? This~ ... what has happened to him?"
Nervous about their reactions, Jeffery asked, "What happened, doctor? Is something wrong?"
"Wrong? This is just~ .... this is impossible. A miracle has happened," the other doctor added, sounding surprised and overjoyed. "The yellowness in the patient’s pupils has cleared away. The blood clots that were forming on his body have reduced significantly, and his hemodynamically unstable vitals~ ... they are back to normal now. When we checked an hour ago, his condition was deteriorating rapidly. In my twenty-five years of experience, I have never seen something like this. How did this even happen?"
His words threw the entire Yates family back. Diana, stumbling, reached the doctor, her eyes full of optimism and hope. "Is it all true? Garry~ ... he is recovering?"
The doctor nodded. Yelena finally spoke, "Actually, it is all thanks to Elio." She pointed toward him.
Everyone’s attention was on him. He stated confidently, "Dr. Andrew is my mentor. I gave him a brewed medicine on his orders. And that’s the result."
"Dr. Andrew? You mean~ ... Dr. Greg Andrew, the renowned name in both herbal medicine and allopathy. The one who got the Nobel Prize in the field of medicine?" the head doctor exclaimed. "And you are his mentee?"
Elio didn’t comment. He just simply nodded.
The doctors then turned towards the Yates family members, who still hadn’t recovered from the initial shock. "Mrs. Yates~... you need not worry now. Mr. Yates is going to be all right."
Diana gasped; her reddened eyes started shedding tears of joy.
The doctors left the scene. She glanced at Elio and clutched both his hands, "Thank you~ ... thank you so much. Thank you for saving my husband. I don’t know how I can repay you."
Elio shook his head, lying swiftly, "I did nothing. If you want to thank someone, you should thank Myra. She told me all about Mr. Yates’ condition."
Diana turned towards Myra. The eyes that held only reproach and contempt for her now looked at her with unconditional softness. "Myra~ ... I~ ..." She didn’t know what to say; she just kept bawling.
Myra remained rooted on the spot, her lips tightened in a thin line. Her feelings were a complete mess.
She had just saved a man who was not just involved in her kidnapping. But also one of the reasons for Amy’s suffering. Some way or the other, he was an accomplice in that vicious scheme. But there was one more fact. Garry Yates saved her life and has helped her numerous times. So, her state of mind was in a 6dilemma.
Liliana and Jeffery walked towards her, Elio and Brave. "Myra, Mr. Everests~ .... we, Yates, will always remain indebted to you for what you did for my father," his voice heavy with emotion. "I can’t thank you enough. Please, tell me~ ... what we can do for you."
