"Are my eyes deceiving me?!"

Back when he first formed his circle, it had taken him almost a whole day.

Now, even though he had taught them his signature Ethan Meditation Method and explained to them the nature of mana,

Ethan never expected anyone to form a circle so quickly.

However, contrary to his expectations, what he was seeing with his Mana Sight said otherwise.

’Damn! Is she the daughter of mana or what?’

’Just what the hell am I looking at?!’

Lucy Hart!

A member of Victoria’s orphanage, just seven years old and wearing an all-pink gown.

In fact, when he saw her and a few of the other kids doing their punches, Ethan felt they were cute.

Nowhere in his mind did he see them as part of the current combat power of the shelter.

However, now that thought might have to change.

In front of him, Lucy was like the only child of mana.

As she sat there meditating, the surrounding mana all rushed towards her.

Even the mana being absorbed by the others beside her was being dragged towards her body.

Not only that, but apart from the mana that was going towards her heart to form the circle,

the majority of the mana was being absorbed by her body, rapidly increasing her strength!

Such a situation, no one else in the room experienced it.

Yet no matter how he looked, for the first time since he had been using his Max-Level Comprehension, he had encountered something he could not understand.

It was like a thin veil of fog was wrapping around her body, making his Mana Sight unable to pierce through.

’Amazing! Does she have a special physique or something?’

’In that case, increasing my Awakener rank should be my next priority; otherwise, the things I can’t analyze will only increase in the future.’

Shaking his head, although Ethan was a bit disappointed, a part of him was also excited!

excited that he could once again upgrade his mage path, excited that the learning path seemed to have no end.

Looking at the girl in front of him, Ethan silently made a mental note to observe her once more after he increased his Awakener rank to E.

"Now then, let’s take a look at the others."

"Although Lucy is an outlier, the majority of the people here aren’t bad."

"Victoria and Terry seem to have already started constructing their circles."

"And Natasha is also progressing quite fast."

"At this rate, perhaps in a week from now, everyone here will be a first-circle mage!"

"If that happens, how strong will I be?!"

"When that happens, won’t I be able to start teaching them spells?"

"And by the time that feedback hits too—!"

"Hiss~!"

Thinking of this, Ethan was excited. At this moment, it seemed nothing could go wrong.

At least, that’s what it seemed like.

’Ring!’ ’Ring!’

Right beside him, Elena’s phone began to ring. Fortunately, she wasn’t meditating like the rest of them, as she already had her own circle.

Otherwise, she could have seriously suffered some backlash.

"Yes, Grandpa, I understand."

"Don’t worry, my brother is awake now and beside me. I’ll let him know."

"Yes, stay safe, we’ll be right with you soon!" Talking on the phone, Elena’s face soon turned gloomy.

With every word she said, her frown seemed to grow larger and larger.

Whatever was being said on the phone was definitely not good.

’Damn, can’t someone get a rest in the apocalypse?’

’Hopefully, it’s not what I think it is,’ thought Ethan, his eyes looking at Elena with concern.

Although he could already guess what she was talking about from her words and the tone of her voice,

he wanted her to confirm it with her own words.

And sure enough, after hanging up, Elena turned to face Ethan, her expression a bit hesitant.

"Hey brother, I know you just had your breakthrough, but Grandpa wants to see you in the meeting room."

"According to him, the scouts discovered traces of a giant creature heading towards the base."

"According to their words, today alone it has surveyed our base at least three times."

"The experts believe that it’s likely to launch an attack soon."

Saying this, Elena couldn’t help but think about that giant footprint they had seen on their way back.

Perhaps that could be it. In that case, they were in trouble.

And Ethan guessed the same.

"Is that so? I guess there’s no avoiding it."

"We’ll just have to see which is stronger: a 2nd-Circle Mage or some monster."

Feeling the mana in his circle, Ethan once again turned towards the Awakeners focusing on forming their circles.

"Elena, you remain here and watch over everyone. Don’t let them leave until they break through."

"If they need to eat or anything, send someone to get it for them."

"Right now, their breakthrough is the top priority."

"Especially that girl Lucy, make sure nothing happens to her!"

Thinking up a plan, Ethan stood up.

Perhaps if worst came to worst, a breakthrough here might be what ends up saving his life and the base.

And Elena, although she didn’t know what his plan was, after seeing his serious face,

knew her brother wasn’t joking.

Even though she wanted to join him and fight, her self-control told her there was a time and place for everyone.

And right now, she was needed here, not fighting.

"Alright then, brother, but remember to be safe."

"Plus remember, I’m your older sister. If it ever gets too dangerous, let me know."

"Although I might not be able to beat you, big sis is still very strong!" she said, putting her hand on her chest

a move that made Ethan feel quite amused.

Thinking that she and his whole family had died in his past life, Ethan couldn’t allow such a disaster to happen again.

’Damn monster!’

’Even if my circle breaks and my mana dries up, I am absolutely not allowing you to take my family from me twice!’

Thinking this, Ethan left the room, his fingers clenched as he mentally prepared himself for this upcoming fight.
