Max-Level Comprehension: I Create Magic in the Apocalypse
Chapter 75: Result!
Boom!
Using the principle of Density and his own Boundary-Cleaving Sword, Kenjiro had done it!
He had broken past his boundaries and surpassed himself!
In a world where guns and bombs commanded the tides of war, he had once again proven that swordsmanship was far from forgotten!
Cough! Cough!
Under the collision of both powerhouses at full strength, the arena was in absolute shambles as thick dust rose everywhere, making it nearly impossible to see.
Faint coughs could even be heard, proving just how severe the clash truly was.
In terms of stability, as an illusory world, the impact of Lucian’s unknown energy and Kenjiro’s compressed mana had almost shattered the illusion entirely.
Had Ethan not stepped in in time to reinforce it, the whole domain would have collapsed.
’Damn these guys... do they want to tear down this place?’
Cursing softly, Ethan rapidly concentrated his mana into the surroundings, fixing the cracks that had just formed in the space.
’But speaking of which, both of them surprised me. The power they both displayed... Was that E-class? Or even D-class?’
Muttering under his breath, Ethan’s eyes shone with deep interest.
Pushing his circle to the limit, Kenjiro, who was only equivalent to a beginner-stage E-class Awakener with his 2nd-Circle, had somehow done the impossible and almost reached D-class just now.
’Interesting! Very interesting!’
His eyes shining brightly, Ethan felt in this moment that creating the Mage System was the smartest thing he had ever done.
In his past life, it was practically an established rule that it was impossible for an Awakener to fight across ranks.
Yet it seemed that with his Mage System, that rule could be broken, as long as one was willing to burn through all their mana, that is.
Taking a look at the battlefield, Ethan was completely satisfied with this fight.
Regardless of wins or losses, he had already gained a massive amount.
In this single battle, he had learned the principles of the Boundary-Cleaving Sword, witnessed the raw potential of the Mage System, and tested the limits of his current illusions.
As it stood, considering the impact of that last attack, his illusions could only comfortably hold entities at E-rank and below; anything higher possessed the potential to break out.
"Hey, Grandson! There’s so much dust down there. Who do you think won?"
"Although that bastard Kenjiro is technically the weakest among us, that attack just now made even me slightly nervous."
"Do you think that monster survived?"
Sitting beside Ethan, Christian asked curiously.
Indeed, during their days of training, they all knew who was strong and who was weak.
Among the fifty veterans, the top ten were those Ethan had brought with him to confront Lucian.
And among these ten, the spot for the current strongest was contested between Christian and Lauren, while Kenjiro was considered the weakest of the elite group.
Yet, Kenjiro’s final attack just now had made even Christian feel a thread of genuine danger.
In fact, not just him, but many of the other veterans shared similar thoughts as they looked down into the dust-filled arena pit in quiet contemplation.
They all wondered: if they had been in Lucian’s position, could they have survived that strike?
And Ethan, although he could already see who had won thanks to his Advanced Mana Sight, chose to keep the mystery alive.
"Now, now, let’s not spoil the fun. The dust is clearing up, so you’ll soon see who won!"
"Also, Darius, get ready. You’re up next."
Looking at the burly veteran with a head full of white hair and a massive metal shield in his grip, Ethan’s lips curled upward.
Darius Kane, otherwise known as the Iron Wall!
If Kenjiro Sato was number ten among the top ten veterans, then Darius was number nine.
However, the difference between them was that while ranked number nine, Darius, with his exceptional mastery of Body Strengthening spells, ranked absolute first in pure defensive capability.
"Yes, Patriarch! Hopefully Kenjiro didn’t end up killing him; otherwise this old man won’t even get to stretch his legs."
"Hm~ I wonder if that beast can break my defense," Darius said, looking down at the arena floor with heat in his eyes.
Seeing this, Ethan sighed inwardly. Indeed, among these veterans, not a single one was anything short of a battle maniac.
.....
Meanwhile, just as everyone was discussing high above, the dust on the ground had begun to clear.
Having both used their ultimate moves just as intended, the battle had indeed reached its conclusion; however, the result was unexpected.
Still standing upright at a staggering sixteen feet tall, Lucian’s figure emerged from the settling haze.
Unfortunately, that figure was hideously mangled. His left arm and left wing had been completely severed by a clean, devastating strike that spanned across his torso.
His feathers were splattered with dark blood, and several internal organs were exposed to the open air.
"Damn you, monster... If I hadn’t shifted away at the very last fraction of a second, I would have died!"
"Next time... you should go for the head!"
Cursing furiously, Lucian’s body rapidly began its violent regeneration process.
Only this time, the flesh failed to return fully.
Bones snapped into place to form the lost appendages; his left wing was replaced with a skeletal wing, his left arm with a bare bone limb, and his left eye socket remained hollow and dark.
However, Lucian paid no mind to his altered form, as his full attention was locked on the person held in his right hand.
Grabbing him off the ground by his neck, Lucian stared Kenjiro straight in the eye, unable to believe this old man had almost taken his life a second time.
"Oh? It seems your regeneration isn’t quite perfect. And here this old man was thinking you were immortal..."
Cough! Cough!
Looking at the bone wing and skeletal arm with a faint smirk on his face, Kenjiro ignored the blood trickling down the side of his lips, feeling thoroughly satisfied with his last attack.
"Indeed, this old man still needs to work on his sword."
"Perhaps next time... I can cut you down with a single strike."
He spoke calmly, his mind replaying the exact path of the last slash.
However, his words only served to infuriate Lucian further.
"Damn you! Are you mocking me?! In that case, die, you old fool!"
"Talking about next time... there IS no next time!"
Increasing the pressure in his grip, Lucian prepared to crush Kenjiro’s neck right then and there.
Even though he had won, he had no intention of letting such a dangerous enemy walk away alive
