Chapter 728: Her Scheme Is the Blood Sample

Chapter 728: Chapter 276: Her Scheme Is the Blood Sample

Her skin is rather tan, and the clear green color of her veins can faintly be seen. There are many scars on the part of her chest that is slightly exposed.

There are knife wounds and scratches from beasts.

Sitting on a sofa chair made of rattan, she listens seriously as the lady boss reports information about Xu Xingguang, remaining silent, yet exuding an unmistakable murderous aura.

The woman is named Cruz, and the captain whispered to Xu Xingguang, “Cruz attended school in Divine Emperor City and received the Best Command Gold Award in the Simulated Warfare of the Divine Martial Realm Military Academy Alliance.”

Unsure whether Xu Xingguang understands the significance of this award, the captain further explains, “Historically, anyone who receives this award is without exception a child of the top military officials of the Three Great Alliances, who grew up immersed in military culture. Cruz’s victory over them to win the award caused quite a stir back then.”

Having learned the value of this award, Xu Xingguang sincerely admires her.

After the lady boss explains Xu Xingguang’s purpose, Cruz finally raises her head to look over at Xu Xingguang, her eyes filled with scrutiny and contemplation.

Xu Xingguang calmly walks over to her and extends his right hand, “Hello Cruz, my name is Xu Xingguang, from the Mortal World Xia Country.”

Upon hearing the words Mortal World, the lady boss is particularly shocked, but the captain shows no reaction.

Cruz is startled, and the hostility in her gaze towards Xu Xingguang diminishes slightly.

She stands up and shakes hands with Xu Xingguang, conversing with him in the official language of the Divine Martial Realm: “Are you the doctor sent to Ying Family to study this year?”

“Indeed.”

Cruz nods and tells Xu Xingguang, “We, the Green Blood Clan, are always seen as ‘outsiders’ in the eyes of humans from the Three Great Alliances, even if they are just exiled criminals of the alliances, we do not have the right to kill them.”

“As soon as our hands are stained with their blood, it becomes an excuse for them to attack us, which is why we watch those criminals commit crimes in our territory, not daring to kill them.”

Cruz finds her position as Clan Leader frustrating, but there is nothing she can do, they are ‘outsiders living under others’ roofs.’

Xu Xingguang can understand Cruz’s helplessness and anger.

Clearly, the Green Blood Clan are the true owners of the Eastern Alliance land, yet they have suffered slaughter and expulsion by invading races. Now, having lost their homeland, they have become pitiful refugees living under others’ roofs.

“Miss Xu.” Cruz asks her, “Are you truly willing to help us root out those criminals?”

“Of course.” Xu Xingguang answers without hesitation.

Cruz inspects her again with scrutinizing eyes.

After a moment, she asks, “What do you require us to do?”

“These people are criminals exiled from Bai Ze Island. Due to our negligence, they have caused you trouble, for which we deeply apologize. Capturing and returning them to the Three Great Alliances is our responsibility, Lady Cruz has been rational in not giving us trouble, why should we let you suffer loss?”

With that, Xu Xingguang takes out a sealed small medicine jar from the canvas bag she carries, saying: “Inside are some poison plant seeds, as long as these plants successfully survive, they can form a natural poison barrier. Kenda Mountain Range is a primitive forest, where growing poison barrier patches to deter outsiders skilled in dense forests is common and reasonable.”

Xu Xingguang hands the plant seeds to Cruz: “It’s for you.”

Cruz narrows her eyes and regards Xu Xingguang for a moment before reaching out to take the sealed small medicine jar.

Dispersing the seeds along the tribal boundaries of the Kenda Mountain Range can effectively fend off malicious intrusions from those scoundrels within the Three Great Alliances. By then, should trespassers die, it would have nothing to do with them.

They are poisoned by toxic plants.

That is nature wanting them dead, nothing to do with the Green Blood Clan.

Cruz gives Xu Xingguang a grateful look, smiling: “You’re quite an interesting girl, you’re our friend.” Cruz realized that Xu Xingguang coming voluntarily to help them remove the criminals was not without motive. But she sought not obvious small gains.

She wants to become a friend of the Green Blood Clan.

More accurately, an ally.

Cruz has heard about events on Bai Ze Island, she already senses the storm about to hit.

She hopes to see a drastic change, a reform.

The living environment of Green Blood People is miserable enough, regardless of how the Bai Ze Island lord’s actions will overturn the Divine Martial Realm, their plight won’t worsen too much.

“Miss Xu, do you want to pull us into the Bai Ze Island camp?” Without waiting for Xu Xingguang to confirm or deny, Cruz resolutely rejects: “Our Green Blood Clan, every one of us is a warrior, we never fear war but also never initiate it!”

“If your purpose is to bring us under the command of the Bai Ze Island lord, then I advise you to return directly.”

“You misunderstand.” Xu Xingguang remains calm and peaceful, saying: “I have no intention of persuading you to join Bai Ze Island’s ranks, but I do have aims regarding your people.”

Cruz furrows her brow, “What do you want?”

The captain and the lady boss both look curious and astonished.

Xu Xingguang approaches Cruz, lowering her voice: “A sample of your people’s blood.”

Cruz freezes.

Then, her face turns cold, questioning Xu Xingguang: “Does Doctor Xu also think of us Green Blood People as monsters, wanting our blood for research?” Her use of ‘Doctor Xu’ is filled with sarcasm.

Xu Xingguang gravely shakes her head and says: “You and I are merely creatures of this world, why speak of monsters or outsiders? I need your blood to conduct research to find a way to save the children of the Mortal World.”
