Mercenary’s War

Chapter 2681 - 2655: For One Person Only

  • Next Chapter

Gao Yang brought Frey and Yelena to pick up Eileen.

A Boeing 777 can carry several hundred passengers, but this time it only delivered Eileen alone, flying just for her from Djibouti—she boarded and the plane took off immediately, heading straight to New York.

It wasn’t that now that Gao Yang had money he’d forgotten whose surname "Funds" had, nor that he was burning cash for show, but that he really wasn’t short of money at the moment. Compared to money, a chance to fulfill a dream made money worthless. Like he kept saying, any problem that can be solved with money is not a problem.

Eileen got off the plane with an army pack on her back, walking in a hurry, sometimes trotting, sometimes speed-walking as she came out of the airport.

Seeing Eileen, Gao Yang waved and shouted loudly, "Come on, run, run!"

Eileen immediately strode into a run, but when she rushed up to Gao Yang, she looked excited and giddy as she said, "Boss, is this for real? You’re really not messing with me?"

Gao Yang waved his hand and said urgently, "Move it, I said you’d make it here in 36 hours and there’s still an hour and a half left. Traffic’s a mess right now, and I really don’t want to be late."

Eileen swallowed, glanced down at what she was wearing, then said with a face full of surprise, "We’re going like this? All right, let’s hurry."

Frey slapped Eileen hard on the back, then laughed, "We have to hurry. You know what? That Karl Lagerfeld is waiting specially just for you. He can’t wait."

Yelena was running a little to keep up with Gao Yang and the others while saying, "You’ve got this! I promise, Mr. Karl Lagerfeld’s eyes literally froze when he was looking at your photo."

Eileen laughed and said, "He didn’t see that photo, did he? The really ugly one."

"Actually, it was that photo that made him interested in you."

"Oh, you should’ve told me earlier, because I’ve beaten Jansen up several times over it..."

Joseph was already waiting in the car. No more talking—five people split into two cars and rushed to Karl Lagerfeld’s studio as fast as possible.

When the car stopped, Eileen took a deep breath, then pushed the door open with a look of grim resolve and got out. But once Gao Yang and Yelena had also gotten out, the always fearless Eileen suddenly looked conflicted as she glanced down at herself and then muttered, "We’re going in like this?"

Eileen was wearing sunglasses, a small tank top on top, a pair of baggy camo pants on the bottom, and combat boots on her feet. She’d come straight from the plane, obviously with no time to change.

Gao Yang said anxiously, "Like this is fine, let’s go."

The five of them went upstairs to Karl Lagerfeld’s studio. When the assistant knocked on the door, Eileen became extremely nervous, her hands not knowing where to go.

Karl Lagerfeld was in the same barebones show venue where he’d first met Gao Yang. The door opened, Gao Yang walked in first, Eileen followed behind him, and Karl Lagerfeld was already standing in the middle of the room.

"Mr. Lagerfeld, hello, this is Eileen."

Eileen had been very nervous before going in, but once they entered she calmed down a lot. After Gao Yang introduced her, she immediately took off her sunglasses, extended her right hand, and said, "Hello, Mr. Lagerfeld."

Karl Lagerfeld didn’t shake Eileen’s hand. He ran his eyes up and down her with a very rude gaze, then simply crossed his arms over his chest and blatantly stared her up and down from head to toe.

Eileen’s outstretched hand had no one to shake it, so she naturally pulled it back and rubbed her bald head.

Karl Lagerfeld suddenly closed his eyes and stood motionless in front of Eileen. Yelena quietly tugged on Gao Yang’s clothes and made a questioning gesture.

Gao Yang raised his hand slightly; he just wanted to know what was going on in Karl Lagerfeld’s head.

In fact, Gao Yang hadn’t wanted to bring Yelena, because it was inconvenient. He’d been worried about certain things. But Yelena was just as interested in Eileen’s fate, and she didn’t have class today. Gao Yang really had no reason to refuse her request to come along—strictly speaking, her plea—because he’d tried hard to stop her, but failed.

Karl Lagerfeld suddenly opened his eyes, which were now shining, and said loudly, "Perfect!"

Gao Yang let out a long breath. Eileen gave a confident smile, and Karl Lagerfeld said urgently, "Get changed, Eileen, put on underwear and let me see."

"Okay."

Eileen directly pulled off her tank top, revealing the black sports bra underneath.

Every man and woman present immediately went wide-eyed—not because Eileen looked too good or too bad, but because they’d never seen a woman strip down that cleanly and quickly.

Noticing their strange looks, Eileen asked in surprise, "What?"

Karl Lagerfeld said awkwardly, "Uh, actually I meant for you to go to the changing room and put on... Forget it, this is fine. The muscles are fantastic. What’s this tattoo?"

The sports bra was fairly loose, and from the front Karl Lagerfeld could only see a mouth tattooed on Eileen’s stomach.

Eileen turned her body and said casually, "Tyrannosaurus!"

The Tyrannosaurus tattoo was also mostly covered. Karl Lagerfeld couldn’t help but reach out and touch Eileen’s arm, his eyes shining as he exclaimed, "It’s beautiful. The position and shape of this scar are perfect. I’ve never worked with a model who gives me this kind of feeling. Marie, take her to change. Put her in a bikini with invisible straps."

Eileen shrugged and said, "So that’s how it is. All right, I’ll go change. Do you even have underwear in my size? I’m kind of on the big side."

Marie smiled and said, "We came prepared. This way, please."

Soon, Eileen came out wearing only a bikini. Gao Yang glanced at her, saw the ram’s head tattoo with only the crucial bits covered, and for reasons unknown even to himself, he couldn’t help lowering his head.

Frey let out a whistle. Eileen shook her fist at him viciously, then stood openly in front of Karl Lagerfeld and said, "Well?"

Karl Lagerfeld fell silent again. He walked around Eileen in a half-circle, then fixed his eyes on the Tyrannosaurus tattoo on her back, staring for a long time before finally saying, "You’re the one! You’re it! I’ve finally found you!"

"Yeah! Yes!"

Eileen immediately started pumping her fists and couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Karl Lagerfeld said quickly, "Eileen! Would you mind letting me see your tattoo in full? I mean the one on your chest. Let everyone else leave and I’ll look alone, all right?"

Gao Yang suddenly felt very blocked inside, even furious. He didn’t show it on his face, but he was suddenly extremely angry.

Eileen cut Gao Yang a sidelong glance, then suddenly burst out laughing. When Karl Lagerfeld also smiled with her, she said out of the blue, "No."

"Uh... no?"

"The tattoo on my front is only for one person to see. No one else can, don’t even think about it."

"But Eileen, I really need to see it. If you feel shy, there’s really no need. You know my orientation, right? I’d be looking purely from an aesthetic standpoint. Please, I really need to..."

"Enough! You don’t need to say any more, because it’s not happening. The tattoo on my chest is only for one person to see. That’s my decision, so don’t waste time, Mr. Lagerfeld."

Eileen was still smiling, but her tone was very firm. Karl Lagerfeld sighed, lowered his head and hesitated a moment, then said helplessly, "All right, I’ll give up. So who do you show it to? Sorry, I’m asking purely out of curiosity; you’re absolutely free not to answer. I just feel such a huge regret that I can’t help wanting to know who that lucky person is."

Eileen’s smile grew wider, mischievous even. She turned slowly, sweeping her gaze over everyone—at the equally curious Frey and Joseph, the even more curious Yelena, and Gao Yang, who seemed to be the only one looking normal.

Eileen’s eyes seemed to pause on Gao Yang for a moment without meaning to, and in that instant Gao Yang’s heart suddenly trembled.

"That person is... me! Of course I’m the only one who gets to see it. No one else, not in this lifetime."

Gao Yang let out a long breath, extremely slow and completely soundless.

Karl Lagerfeld heaved a long sigh, then said with a helpless look, "I can’t find anyone better. You’re the only one. What else can I say? All right, Eileen, you’ll be my leading model for this New York Fashion Week. You’re my theme. Congratulations, you’re about to become a model the whole world is watching. Trust me, you’re going to be the brightest star out there!"
