Millionaire Girlfriend
Chapter 93 - Family Moments
Chapter 93: Chapter 93 - Family Moments
Five years later...
The photographers’ flashes illuminated the red carpet as luxury cars stopped one after another in front of the Emmy Awards venue.
An elegant black car finally pulled up in front of the barriers.
The door opened, and Ashley Gresham stepped out.
She was wearing a long, elegant dress that immediately attracted attention. After giving the photographers a few smiles, she turned toward the car.
"Catlyn."
A little four-year-old girl stepped out of the car.
Catlyn was wearing a perfectly tailored white suit, a white shirt, and a pair of elegant little shoes. She was also wearing red, star-shaped glasses.
She casually adjusted her glasses before taking her mother’s hand.
The photographers immediately began calling out to them.
"Ashley! Over here!"
"Catlyn! Look this way!"
"One picture together!"
Ashley stopped for a few seconds to pose with her daughter.
Catlyn, on the other hand, seemed completely used to cameras. She naturally stood beside her mother, one small hand in her pocket, her glasses still resting on her nose.
The flashes continued to go off around them.
After a few pictures, a female reporter approached them with a microphone.
"Good evening! You both look beautiful. How are you feeling tonight?"
Ashley smiled at her.
"Very good. I’m really happy to be here. Especially since my partner has so much class."
She affectionately gestured toward Catlyn, who adjusted her glasses with a small smile.
The reporter laughed.
"I can see that!"
She then turned toward Ashley.
"Your series has been a huge success this year, and you’re also nominated tonight for your leading role. What does it mean to you to be here?"
"It’s pretty incredible. I’ve worked really hard to get here, and being able to experience this evening with my daughter makes it even more special."
The reporter then looked at Catlyn.
"And you, Catlyn, you look very elegant tonight. Tell us, who taught you how to be a diva?"
Catlyn thought for a few seconds before answering in her adorable little voice.
"My moms taught me... and my grandma too."
The reporter immediately broke into a wide smile.
Ashley couldn’t help laughing either.
Ever since she was a baby, Catlyn had modeled children’s clothes for her grandmother Regina’s collection. She had therefore always been comfortable in front of cameras and under the spotlight.
When Ashley landed the lead role in her series, Catlyn had even had the opportunity to appear as an extra in a few episodes.
The reporter turned back to Ashley.
"Would you like Catlyn to continue acting in movies or TV shows?"
Ashley looked at her daughter before answering.
"I mostly want her to do whatever she loves. She’s had a lot of fun on the sets so far. So, it’s her decision, but whatever she chooses, my wife and I will support her."
Catlyn looked up at her mother.
"I want to do another movie."
Ashley laughed softly.
"You heard her."
The reporter smiled.
"Then we might have a future actress standing right in front of us."
Catlyn proudly straightened her shoulders.
"Yes."
Ashley shook her head slightly, amused.
The reporter gave them one last smile.
"Thank you so much for your time. I hope you both have a wonderful evening."
"Thank you."
Ashley and Catlyn continued down the red carpet as the photographers started calling out to them again.
Catlyn walked calmly beside her mother, her little red star-shaped glasses still perched on her nose, completely at ease among the cameras, reporters, and celebrities.
Tonight, Ashley had come to celebrate the success of her series.
And perhaps leave with an Emmy.
---
It was almost midnight.
Sitting on her bed, Clara stared at her laptop.
Several files were open in front of her, while a pile of documents was still waiting to be reviewed.
She sighed and ran a hand through her hair.
Ever since she had taken on more responsibilities within her family’s company, her days seemed to never end.
A faint sound coming from the other side of the room suddenly caught her attention.
A small cry.
Clara looked up.
A small crib stood in the corner of the room.
Inside, her baby had just woken up.
"Awake again..."
Clara immediately got up from the bed and walked over to the crib.
She leaned down and gently picked up the baby.
"Shh... Mommy’s here."
The baby continued crying for a few seconds before snuggling against her.
Clara gently rubbed her back.
It had only been two months since she had given birth, yet she was already busier than ever. Clara hadn’t planned on carrying a child and had seriously considered using a surrogate. But her love for Ashley had made her change her mind. She wanted to return the favor after Ashley had carried Catlyn.
"Are you hungry?"
She glanced at the clock.
Almost midnight.
She sighed softly.
Clara returned to the bed with the baby in her arms and began breastfeeding her.
She smiled softly as she looked at the tiny human being nestled against her.
"Oh, you’re so adorable, my little angel."
Ashley and Catlyn were out for the evening, leaving Clara alone with their other daughter, Chelsea Gresham Turner.
Clara yawned tiredly.
"I work way too much... I need to get some rest too," she said to herself, deciding that it was time to stop working for the day, especially since there were only a few minutes left before another day began.
---
The next morning, the front door opened gently.
Ashley entered the house with Catlyn, who still seemed full of energy despite the previous night’s events.
"We’re home!"
Her cheerful voice echoed through the house.
In the living room, Clara was lying on the couch with Chelsea in her arms. The baby was sleeping peacefully against her chest, while Clara still looked tired after her short night.
When she saw Ashley and Catlyn, her face brightened slightly.
"You’re finally back. I’ve missed you both so much," Clara exclaimed with a smile.
Catlyn hurried toward the couch with a huge smile on her face. She seemed eager to tell her mother everything that had happened the night before.
"Mom!"
Clara turned toward her, amused by her excitement.
"What’s wrong, princess?"
"Where’s my tablet? You have to see me and Mommy at the big party!"
Catlyn’s eyes were shining with excitement. She was practically bouncing as she spoke, unable to stay still.
"It’s right next to the TV," Clara told her.
Catlyn immediately turned around and started looking for her tablet.
Ashley watched her daughter with amusement before crouching down and giving Clara a kiss.
"How’s our little angel ?" she asked, gently stroking Chelsea’s head with her thumb.
"She’s actually pretty calm. She probably knows that her mommy is a very busy person," Clara replied with a smile.
"You should get some rest. You look really tired."
"I’ll take a shower, then I’ll take care of Chelsea, and you can go to sleep. I don’t want to see you working, understood?"
"Yes, boss," Clara replied jokingly.
She was truly exhausted, and she was glad she could count on her partner to remind her to rest because she often forgot to do it herself.
After finding her tablet, Catlyn quickly returned to the couch, clutching it in her little hands.
She remained standing beside Clara and immediately turned on the screen.
"Look, Mom!"
Clara leaned slightly closer to see the screen while Chelsea continued sleeping peacefully in her arms.
Catlyn played the first video.
It showed her on the red carpet with Ashley, surrounded by photographers.
"That’s me! Look! I’m a star!"
Catlyn pointed at the screen excitedly, her eyes shining with pride.
Clara smiled as she watched the video.
"Yes, I see. Maybe I could get an autograph," Clara joked, delighted to see her little girl so happy.
"And look at this one!"
Catlyn quickly switched to another video without even waiting.
She was clearly delighted to show her mother every moment of her evening.
Clara watched her tenderly as Catlyn continued showing her the videos, excitedly telling her everything that had happened the night before.
"Okay, Catlyn. That’s enough for now. We’re going to take a shower first, and then you can continue showing Mommy the videos," Ashley said, stopping her.
Ashley went upstairs to take a shower and change, then took over taking care of the baby, leaving Clara to get some rest.
---
A few hours later, the whole family was gathered around the table for lunch.
Ashley was sitting beside Clara, while Catlyn ate enthusiastically and continued talking about details from the previous evening.
"And then they took even more pictures of me!" Catlyn said excitedly.
"Catlyn, eat your food first, and then you can continue your story," Ashley said.
"Yes!"
Catlyn took another bite before continuing.
"And the lady with the microphone was very nice," she continued talking despite Ashley telling her to finish her meal first.
Ashley had no choice but to move closer and feed her, worried that Catlyn would never finish her meal because she was talking so much.
"I don’t think anything is going to stop her from telling her story," Clara said with a laugh.
They exchanged an amused look.
Meanwhile, Chelsea was sleeping peacefully in her little seat beside the table. She was only two months old.
Clara glanced at her baby before smiling tenderly.
"Let’s hope this one is less quiet, otherwise we’re going to have our hands full," Clara commented.
At that moment, the front door opened.
A few seconds later, footsteps could be heard coming down the hallway.
"Hello, everyone!"
Regina’s voice echoed through the house.
Catlyn immediately looked up.
"Grandma!"
Regina appeared in the dining room with a big smile.
"Hello, my little princess."
Catlyn almost jumped out of her chair, she was so happy to see her.
"Grandma! Look!"
She immediately grabbed her tablet.
Regina laughed.
"What do you want to show me now?"
"The videos from yesterday!"
Regina walked over to her granddaughter as Catlyn immediately started showing her the videos excitedly.
Ashley and Clara exchanged a smile as they watched Catlyn go from one person to another, telling everyone about her evening.
Regina eventually looked at Clara.
"You really look like you need some rest," Regina commented, noticing that Clara had only just woken up.
"Tell her that. I have to remind her all the time," Ashley said.
Regina glanced at Chelsea.
She walked over to the baby and gently stroked her cheek.
"She’s adorable."
Clara smiled tenderly.
"Yes, she is. I mean, just look at her mothers," Clara said proudly.
Lunch continued in a warm atmosphere as Catlyn kept talking about her evening while Regina enjoyed spending time with her only child’s family.
