Chapter 113 Eat My Atomic Breath!

  • Next Chapter

Big E, Eldrad, and the rest stared blankly at Vane, faces full of confusion.

What was that supposed to mean? What did he mean he was going to turn into Godzilla and attack?

Vane didn’t bother explaining. Instead, he slapped the Godzilla Summoner against his chest.

“When xenos begin to surface, when demons ravage the land once more, and when the Imperium suffers in agony… all of creation will call your name! Come forth, King of the Monsters, Godzilla! Transform!”

As soon as the words left his mouth, a terrifying bolt of crimson lightning violently cracked through the air, deafening everyone with a booming thunderclap.

Across the battlefield, everyone jumped at the sheer force of the sound. They all snapped their heads toward the source of the noise.

The scarlet lightning seemed to have a mind of its own, branching out wildly in all directions.

Amidst the sky-filling electrical storm, a colossal beast faded into view—towering sixty meters tall and ninety meters long, looking eerily similar to the extinct dinosaurs of Ancient Terra. It was none other than the King of the Monsters from another universe: Godzilla.

Godzilla took a heavy step forward. Every single footfall made the earth shudder.

Reaching the front lines, the titan threw its head back and unleashed a deafening, world-shaking roar that echoed across the entire battlefield.

Big E, Eldrad, Trajann, his Custodians, and the Harlequins were all completely dumbfounded. They stared unblinking at the monstrous form Vane had just taken.

How the hell did he do that?! How does a living, breathing guy just magically turn into a giant monster out of thin air?! Does this even make sense? Do the laws of physics in this universe even exist anymore?!

It wasn’t just Big E and his crew, either. The Imperial forces scattered across the warzone were absolutely paralyzed with shock.

“Holy shit, what the hell is that?!”

“That’s impossible! How can something that massive even stand upright? Shouldn’t its own weight crush its bones?!”

“Man, I gotta be dreaming…”

“Open fire! It’s gotta be a xenos trick!”

The Imperial artillery and aerial squadrons immediately started to pivot their guns, ready to blast the monster that had suddenly appeared in their midst.

However, Trajann quickly utilized his highest-tier Custodian clearance to directly contact the frontline commanders, ordering an immediate halt to any attacks on the beast.

—

“Hiss… This isn’t right!”

Safely tucked away in a mobile Adeptus Mechanicus fortress near the rear of the battlefield, the Necron Overlord Trazyn the Infinite—currently disguised as an Archmagos—stared at the giant monster in absolute awe.

As a scholar fully dedicated to preserving history and curating the galaxy’s ultimate museum, wherever there was something worth remembering, Trazyn would be there.

His whole reason for popping into Armageddon this time was to witness the ultimate showdown between the legendary Ork Warlord, Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka, and Imperial Commissar Yarrick. He fully intended to snatch up a few key witnesses to serve as historical exhibits to commemorate the monumental event.

Of course, if he happened to bag Ghazghkull or Yarrick themselves, well, that would just be the cherry on top.

With that goal in mind, he had masqueraded as a Tech-Priest and slinked his way close to the front lines. But who could have guessed that before Ghazghkull and Yarrick could even cross paths, this colossal beast would suddenly crash the party?

I absolutely must add this monster to my collection.

Staring at Godzilla, Trazyn’s very first thought was how to pack it up and ship it home. If he didn’t get his metallic claws on this big guy, he simply wouldn’t be able to sleep at night. He’d be literally restless.

—

Meanwhile, the Greenskins, who were right in the middle of charging the human lines, paused, staring up at the hulking Godzilla in pure confusion.

“How come dem ‘umies got a zoggin’ big beastie?!”

“Dat looks dead WAAAGH!!”

“WAAAGH!!”

“WAAAGH!!”

The Orks only hesitated for a few seconds before Godzilla’s appearance completely whipped them into a frenzy. They screamed “WAAAGH!” at the top of their lungs as chaotic, heavy metal war-beats began blaring across the battlefield in absolute madness.

They made their move. Several massively clunky Gargants shifted their momentum, lumbering toward Godzilla with every intention of tearing the giant monster to shreds.

—

“Eat a blast of atomic breath first, you Greenskin runts!”

Vane eyed the encroaching Gargants without an ounce of fear.

Under his control, the jagged dorsal fins running down Godzilla’s back began to light up one by one. A terrifying surge of energy swelled within the beast’s colossal frame.

Once every last fin was glowing, Godzilla opened its jaws and let out another earth-shaking roar. A swirling, intense blue light began to radiate from deep within its throat.

Then, the light coalesced into a blinding beam of blue atomic breath. It erupted outward with world-ending force, sweeping across the battlefield and triggering a chain reaction of massive explosions.

The hyped-up Orks didn’t even have time to react before the blast swallowed them whole, vaporizing them until not even ash remained.

Godzilla’s atomic breath dragged across the terrain, clearing out the screaming hordes of Greenskins before pivoting toward the closest Gargant.

“WAAAGH!!”

The Ork Gargant flared its power fields, attempting to block the incoming beam of pure destruction. But the void shields that could easily shrug off concentrated Imperial artillery batteries lasted barely a few seconds against the atomic energy.

The shields shattered. Bursting with unimaginable heat, the beam punched clean through the ramshackle metal hull that the Big Meks and Mekboyz had so painstakingly hammered together.

When the atomic breath finally ceased, a massive, molten-red hole had been melted right through the center of the Gargant.

The mechanical behemoth crashed to the ground in a shower of sparks, billowing thick clouds of pitch-black smoke.

The Orks piloting the scrap-titan frantically scrambled out of the wreckage, scattering in a panic. But before they could get far, the Gargant’s unstable power core went critical and detonated, erupting in a blinding flash of light as bright as a miniature star.

When the light finally faded, that entire sector of the battlefield had been leveled into a flat, scorched wasteland.

The sheer devastation left the nearby Imperial Titan Princeps and Knight Scions staring at their sensor readouts in absolute disbelief.

Isn’t the firepower on this thing a little too ridiculous?

Sure, an Ork Gargant might not be the most sophisticated war machine, but to one-shot it that easily? That was just absurd.

—

Oh, this fellow is incredibly fierce. I absolutely love it.

Seeing Godzilla’s performance firsthand only made Trazyn’s obsession grow. If he could somehow secure this titan as a centerpiece for his galleries, he’d be so overjoyed he might actually leak coolant.

—

“Smash dat big zoggin’ beast! WAAAGH!!”

The Ork Warboss, Gordaz, roared at the sky. His body was heavily modified, making him far more massive than any ordinary Greenskin. Half of his torso was pure machinery, right down to his iron jaw.

His original flesh-and-blood arms had been amputated long ago. One had been replaced with a massive, whirring power klaw, while the other was a hulking cybernetic limb. Seven or eight Astartes helmets were impaled on the jagged steel spikes protruding from his back, giving him a terrifyingly oppressive aura.

—

“Come on! Feel the wrath of the King of the Monsters!”

“You pitiful Greenskins… do you really think you can beat the King?!”

Vane was screaming this at the top of his lungs. Unfortunately, absolutely no one could understand his monster screeches.

Godzilla broke into a heavy sprint straight toward the Ork lines.

With a single swing of its massive tail, it swatted away sputtering Ork buggies, smashing them into a field of burning scrap.

Its gigantic claws casually crushed unshielded mini-Gargants and Killa Kans like tin toys.

Even just tossing its weight around allowed Godzilla’s absurd mass to completely flatten the scrap-metal fortifications the Orks had built up.

In this moment, he was invincible.

“No steppin’ back! Krump it!”

“Focus fire! All o’ ya, focus fire!”

“WAAAGH!!”

The Ork Warlord Gordaz constantly barked at his Boyz, egging them on to charge at Godzilla. But against the titan, their attacks were completely useless. It didn’t even amount to a light scratch. Even if they somehow managed to nick him, Godzilla just absorbed the ambient radiation to rapidly regenerate his health.

Because both the Imperium and the Orks had been throwing around weapons of mass destruction, the background nuclear radiation on the battlefield had spiked to absolutely absurd levels.

For Godzilla, this environment was a literal paradise—a cheat code for infinite health and mana regen.

Every few minutes, after soaking up enough nuclear radiation, Vane would unleash his atomic breath, slaughtering the Greenskins and vaporizing their scrap-metal contraptions. The battlefield quickly devolved into a bloody slaughterhouse.

No matter how many Greenskins blindly charged the titan, the outcome was always the same: they were either crushed into paste or incinerated into ash. Eventually, even the hulking Ork Warlord Gordaz got squished into a meaty splatter under Godzilla’s foot.

With their Warlord dead, the Ork morale shattered. They broke and fled, leaving behind a scarred wasteland littered with corpses and wrecked vehicles.
