Minecraft: The Conqueror of Multiverse
Chapter 124 Misery Loves Company
From the very second the Human Pantheon was born, it had been besieged by countless Warp factions desperate to pillage the slumbering souls inside.
However, the Imperium’s spirit warriors didn’t yield a single inch. Led by the Primarchs, they fought the daemons day and night in a meat grinder that left rivers of blood and mountains of corpses. The sheer scale of the slaughter had actually caused Khorne’s power to skyrocket, leaving the Blood God absolutely thrilled.
So, when Vane sent out the call for building materials and ordered them to catch daemons, the Primarchs and spirit warriors eagerly answered the call. They snatched up live daemons right off the battlefield and shipped them off to the Eastern Fringe, tossing them straight into Vane’s bedrock prison.
As the daemon population in the prison swelled, the scale of the living wall grew increasingly absurd.
Within just a few days, it had evolved into a hyper-massive structure spanning countless star systems. Floating out in the void, you couldn’t see the end of it no matter which way you looked—up, down, left, or right. It was an impossibly majestic, towering barricade, easily the most ridiculous and awe-inspiring megastructure in galactic history.
Warp daemons were born from the emotional echoes of humanity and other sentient species, feeding on negative emotions like despair and agony, as well as literal flesh and souls. With the Pantheon established, the all-you-can-eat buffet of flesh and souls was officially closed, but the negative emotions were still very much around. After all, humanity could never truly rid itself of its inherent flaws like jealousy and greed; there would always be a steady supply of negative vibes.
Back in the day, the Warp was completely lawless and chaotic. Those negative emotions just piled up like rotting compost, ultimately spawning hordes of daemons and turning the entire Warhammer universe into a cosmic cesspool.
Now, the tables had completely turned.
Humanity had its Pantheon, giving the souls of the dead a safe haven. Meanwhile, the negative emotions generated by the living would be siphoned off as sustenance for the daemons, who were in turn used as building materials for the massive living wall. This setup brilliantly recycled everyone’s negative emotions while simultaneously holding back the Tyranid swarms.
It was the ultimate two-birds-with-one-stone solution, a masterpiece of efficiency.
“I genuinely impress myself sometimes. Coming up with an idea like this… I am a certified genius.” Vane couldn’t help but pull out a mirror, gazing at his handsome reflection in complete self-admiration.
Once the daemon count in the prison reached a critical mass, the colossal wall would act as an impenetrable chasm across the entire Eastern Fringe. As more and more daemons were stuffed inside, the wall’s scale would continue to snowball until it completely enclosed the entire galaxy.
Eventually, massive, living artillery cannons and spiked fortresses would organically sprout from the ramparts, ready to utterly obliterate any invading force foolish enough to try and climb over it.
After the daemon-fueled living wall was successfully constructed, a prompt popped up right in front of Vane’s eyes.
[Quest Completed: Repel the Tyranid Swarms and Defend the Galaxy. You built a mega-wall to keep the Tyranid organisms out of the galaxy. Reward: Conquest Progress +10%. Title Unlocked: The Man Who Conquered the Hive]
“Another quest down,” Vane said, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.
As a Minecraft Player, as long as he had enough resources, knocking out these conquest quests was an absolute breeze. After all, who could possibly beat a guy wielding Steve’s powers and infinite resources?
“At this rate, I’ll be done conquering the Warhammer universe before I even get the chance to craft the Sword of the Cosmos.” (TL/N: Mistranslated as Galaxy Sword a few chapters back)
Vane opened his inventory, feeling a bit melancholic. “Gathering resources manually is just too damn slow. It’s ruining the experience.”
He had wondered if things would have been better if he had just built a bunch of automated resource farms right at the start. But the thought of wasting time building a starter base and a dozen different redstone farms the moment he spawned into a new universe just didn’t sit right with him.
It wasn’t that he hated base-building; it was just incredibly annoying having to do the exact same repetitive grind every single time. After all, he already had literally infinite resources back in his main Minecraft universe. Having to waste so much time manually grinding for materials every time he entered a new world felt like a massive waste of time and life.
He chose to conquer other universes partly to collect their unique mod crafting recipes, but mostly? He just wanted to have fun. If he just buried his head in a mindless grind the second he arrived, where was the joy in that?!
But if he didn’t grind, he’d never scrounge up enough materials to craft the endgame gear. It was honestly a pain in the ass.
“I’ll just wait for the Infinite Pocket Dimension to level up. Maybe that’ll unlock a feature to fix this problem.” Vane could only pin his hopes on the Infinite Pocket Dimension’s next upgrade giving him some actually useful quality-of-life features.
“Since we’re already outside the galaxy, we might as well go deal with The Outsider, Tsara’noga.”
Vane shifted his focus back to his remaining uncompleted quests.
Back during the War in Heaven, Tsara’noga had been completely duped by Cegorach into cannibalizing its fellow C’tan. After gorging itself, its mind was completely flooded with the endless, agonizing whispers of the dead Star Gods. Unable to handle the mental strain, the guy went completely batshit insane.
In its rare moments of lucidity, the crushing guilt of its crimes was too much for The Outsider to bear. Ultimately, it chose to exile itself far beyond the galactic rim, locking itself inside a colossal Dyson Sphere prison.
Vane decided to just knock this guy out while they were in the neighborhood. Otherwise, after dealing with the Silent King and the other Necron Overlords, he’d have to backtrack all the way out here just to deal with it, which was a massive waste of time.
Vane laid out his plan and had Oll, Eldrad, and the rest of the crew start scanning for any clues pointing to The Outsider. The void was incredibly vast and boundless. Without exact coordinates, finding a Dyson Sphere was basically like trying to find a single speck of dust in the ocean. On a cosmic scale, a Dyson Sphere and a speck of dust were practically the same thing anyway.
“The Outsider? I know its exact location.”
Upon hearing Vane’s plan, Eldrad spoke up immediately. The Aeldari had been keeping a very close eye on The Outsider’s movements for eons. Even though the guy was completely unhinged and had locked itself inside a Dyson Sphere, it was still an unimaginably powerful C’tan with the sheer strength to obliterate worlds.
The Aeldari were deeply paranoid about it slipping back into realspace, so they kept it under strict surveillance. The moment it ever tried to leave that prison, alarms would immediately sound.
“You know where it is? Perfect,” Vane said, his face lighting up. “Let’s head out immediately.”
He had fully expected to waste a ton of time searching, but instead, the intel practically fell right into his lap. Sure, doing an evil playthrough might feel incredibly cathartic, but if you wanted to speedrun the game, a good-karma playthrough was always the way to go.
“Respected Human Forefather, why exactly are you looking for Tsara’noga?” Eldrad asked, genuinely curious.
“To catch him and give the Void Dragon a buddy, obviously,” Vane said, pointing to the miniaturized Void Dragon hovering nearby.
“I fully support this,” the normally dead-silent Void Dragon chimed in, a rare occurrence.
It didn’t harbor a single shred of pity or concern for its fellow C’tan. It only had a deep, burning desire to see Vane beat the living crap out of Tsara’noga and force it into servitude. If they both got demoted to human pets, neither could laugh at the other.
Misery loves company, after all.
