Chapter 173 Space King: I Can't Take These Lunatics Anymore!! (Bonus)

“With the outsider’s assistance, your mission completion rate has become truly extraordinary!”

The High Command was practically overflowing with praise.

Thanks to the effects of Vane’s special item, the AI automatically recognized him as an official member of the Reclaimer Squad.

Even though Vane was operating in the body of an ordinary human, the AI never noticed anything unusual.

A few days passed.

Then the squad received another assignment.

This time, they were heading to War World.

The moment they heard the destination, the entire squad practically exploded with excitement.

“WAR WORLD! Endless warfare! Endless slaughter! It must be the happiest place in the entire universe!”

“Those war medals are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!”

“If I don’t get a war medal, I’ll be so devastated I’ll probably kill myself!”

“…”

Listening to their excited rambling, Vane could barely resist rolling his eyes.

What the hell are these Psycho-Warriors, anyway? Humans? Orks? Or did Khorne himself reincarnate as an entire army?!

The second they hear there’s a war going on, they completely lose their minds!

Then High Command teleported the squad directly to War World.

Not long after their arrival, Chestnut was summoned away by Arch-Phallos, the high priest, who claimed to have an important task for him.

Meanwhile, Captain, Hatemonger, and Bryce were placed under the supervision of a Psycho-Warrior named Sergeant Chip.

Their assignment was to escort the sacred Globulus Maximus to the mechanical cathedral.

Chip also instructed them to exchange their current gear for better equipment.

“Nobody touch anything! IT’S ALL MINE!”

Captain immediately tried to claim every piece of equipment for himself.

Unfortunately for him, Vane responded by beating the crap out of him.

Once again.

After getting thoroughly pummeled, Captain had no choice but to distribute the equipment among his teammates.

When all preparations were complete, the massive gates of the military base slowly opened.

As the hymn-engine choir began singing its sacred chants, the powerful propulsion engines roared to life.

The enormous hovering train slowly began moving forward.

The moment it left the base, an entire world consumed by war unfolded before their eyes.

Thick clouds of smoke blotted out the sky.

The ground was covered in craters and scorched earth.

Countless fighter aircraft clashed overhead, weaving between dense showers of laser fire.

Everywhere they looked, the battlefield was littered with corpses and burning vehicles.

Towering columns of black smoke rose into the sky.

“MOVE OUT!” Chip roared.

The hover train thundered forward.

Its mounted automatic cannons and machine guns unleashed a relentless storm of fire, tearing into enemies on the ground and in the sky.

ROOOAR!

ROOOAR!

At that moment, the enemies inhabiting this world finally appeared.

Space Hogs!

The alien creatures rode powerful hovering bikes, rapidly catching up to the train in an attempt to seize the sacred Globulus Maximus.

The Reclaimer Squad immediately entered combat.

They sprayed the approaching Space Hogs with gunfire while engaging the enemies climbing onto the train in brutal close-quarters combat.

Vane relied on his incredible agility, constantly dodging, twisting, and weaving through the battlefield.

With the Purgatory Blade in hand, he cut down every enemy that entered his field of vision.

The battle quickly turned into an absolute bloodbath.

Countless Space Hogs were slaughtered, their bodies scattered across the battlefield.

Then, an enormous Space Hog standing eight meters tall launched itself onto the train.

The monstrous Grimboar intended to turn the tide of battle through sheer strength and its formidable equipment.

The Reclaimer Squad immediately opened fire.

Unfortunately, their energy beams couldn’t penetrate its powerful shield.

Even when they tried fighting it up close, they were knocked down one after another.

They simply weren’t strong enough to defeat it.

In the end, Vane had to step in.

Armed with his Purgatory Blade and supported by Steve, he defeated the monstrous Space Hog without much difficulty.

Then he chopped its head clean off.

After enduring a long and bloody battle, the train finally crossed half the continent and reached the mechanical cathedral.

An enormous mechanical church towered above the planet’s surface.

Around it, one gigantic Psycho-Titan after another stood guard, each towering roughly two hundred meters into the air.

When the train entered the station, the cathedral’s mechanical priests took possession of the sacred Globulus Maximus.

They carefully placed it inside an enormous biomechanical incubation chamber and began conducting a holy ritual.

A little boy was brought forward and strapped to an operating table.

Then the sacred Globulus Maximus was implanted into him.

As the Holy Globules entered his body, the boy rapidly transformed into an enormous, muscular man.

But his growth didn’t stop there.

His body continued expanding.

Larger.

And larger.

Until he had become a colossal giant.

The next step was arming this gigantic warrior.

One absurdly oversized cannon after another was installed across his body.

Several hours later, a super-supreme war titan standing over ten thousand meters tall finally appeared before the world.

Globulus Maximus had been born.

Its armor was forged from adamantium and meteoric iron.

Even its smallest cannons were comparable in size to skyscrapers.

The massive macro-cannon arrays mounted on its shoulders possessed enough firepower to erase an entire city in an instant.

The enormous mechanical cathedral looked like a child’s toy made of building blocks beside this monstrous war machine.

With a single step, Globulus Maximus crushed the entire base and cathedral beneath its foot.

“SPACE KING HAS TO BE COMPLETELY INSANE TOO!”

Even Vane, who had seen plenty of ridiculous things throughout his travels, couldn’t hide his shock as he stared at the ten-kilometer-tall war titan.

If I brought this thing into the Warhammer 40,000 universe, all four Chaos Gods would have to get on their knees and call it Daddy!

I’m starting to understand why even the Tyranids switched to a vegetarian diet.

They can’t win. They seriously can’t win against this nonsense!

The humans in this universe are even more terrifying than the Tyranids and Orks combined!

The appearance of Globulus Maximus completely turned the tide of the war.

The Space Hogs’ armies and war machines were so insignificant before this monstrous mechanical giant that even calling them ants would have been giving them too much credit.

The titan didn’t even need to use its weapons.

It could simply walk straight through the enemy formations and crush everything beneath its overwhelming size.

And when those ridiculously oversized cannons finally opened fire…

The sheer destructive power was beyond anything Vane could have imagined.

In mere moments, the entire continent was engulfed in flames.

Everything was reduced to scorched earth.

Every enemy in its path was mercilessly crushed.

There wasn’t even anything resembling a proper resistance.

Within a few short days, the Space Hogs’ forces had completely collapsed.

Their armies were shattered and slaughtered.

The campaign ended almost as quickly as it had begun.

And War World had become Ruin World.

Yet the excited Psycho-Warriors weren’t satisfied.

The moment they finished wiping out every enemy on the planet, they immediately rushed off toward the next battlefield.

They were like tireless machines built for nothing but war.

Even the slightest hint of boredom could send them spiraling into such deep despair that they’d commit suicide.

To remain happy and alive, they needed to constantly think about war.

They had to crave battle.

They had to hunger for the slaughter of aliens.

Only then could they find any meaning in their existence.

No war? No killing? Then they go completely insane, sink into depression, and eventually die?

This universe is seriously messed up.

Every single one of these guys is basically Angron!

Fortunately, Vane had only one remaining mission to complete.

Find Space King.

And for him, that wasn’t particularly difficult.

All he needed to do was exchange his points for an item-finding compass.

With that, locating Space King would be a piece of cake.

Following the compass’s guidance, Vane led the Reclaimer Squad across one star system after another.

Eventually, they discovered Space King’s hiding place.

It was a desolate planet with an extremely thin atmosphere.

Yellow sand and barren rocky wastelands stretched as far as the eye could see.

There wasn’t the slightest sign of life anywhere.

Except for one place.

A single oasis remained on this otherwise lifeless world.

And hidden within that oasis was none other than Space King himself.

The legendary ruler whom countless Psycho-Warriors had spent so long desperately searching for was living here in seclusion.

Upon learning this, the Reclaimer Squad immediately teleported to the oasis.

As the teleportation light faded, a lush landscape of green trees and vegetation appeared before them.

And standing among the greenery was an incredibly beautiful female alien.

“ALIEN!”

Hatemonger didn’t bother asking a single question.

He grabbed his Hatemace and charged straight at her.

The other Psycho-Warriors immediately raised their weapons and opened fire.

In the blink of an eye, the beautiful alien was dead.

By the time Space King emerged in his magnificent golden armor, the poor creature had already been riddled with so many holes that her body resembled a blackened honeycomb.

“NOOOOO!”

“MY CATHERINE!!”

Space King rushed toward the female alien’s body.

After carefully examining her and confirming that she was completely, unquestionably dead, he finally turned toward the Psycho-Warriors.

An expression of utter helplessness spread across his face.

“I’ve hidden myself all the way out here, and you STILL managed to find me?!”

“Why did you abandon us?” Chestnut, the squad’s Medicae, asked in confusion. “Why would you hide yourself in a place like this?”

“Because the war is over,” Space King explained. “My mission is complete. There’s nothing left in this universe that can threaten humanity’s existence.”

“THEN WE CAN LAUNCH MORE CRUSADES!” Captain shouted.

“YES! A CRUSADE OF HATE!” Hatemonger roared.

“LET THE STARS BURN ONCE MORE!” Bryce yelled, raising his fist into the air.

Hearing their enthusiastic declarations, Space King looked like a man who had completely lost the will to live.

I can’t take these freaking lunatics anymore!

I need to run.

I HAVE TO GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE AGAIN!!
