Minecraft: The Conqueror of Multiverse
Chapter 86 MonsterVerse (1)
The history of the MonsterVerse stretched all the way back four billion years to the Archean Eon. Long before Earth had even developed water or oxygen, the primordial Titans were already kicking around.
Over the course of billions of years, life finally took root, evolving into a full-blown biosphere. Along the way, Titans like the atomic dinosaurs, giant apes, feathered serpents, and frost beasts steadily popped up on the scene.
Over those eons, these massive creatures eventually split into two distinct factions.
First up were the Protectors. Led by heavyweights like Godzilla, Mothra, and the Great Apes, they took it upon themselves to keep the Earth’s ecosystem in balance.
On the flip side were the Destroyers. Headed by the legendary Rodan and MUTO Prime, these guys were hell-bent on wrecking absolutely everything, hoping to drag the planet back to its apocalyptic, primeval roots.
During their endless turf wars, neither side was willing to back down, sparking massive brawls that raged constantly. Primitive humans even grabbed their prehistoric popcorn and recorded these epic clashes on cave walls.
Then, around 10,000 BC, the alien mega-monster King Ghidorah crash-landed on Earth. He quickly shook hands with the Destroyers, striking a deal to wipe the planet’s ecosystem completely off the map.
Naturally, this kicked off a brutal, drawn-out war between the two factions. The chaos only ended when Ghidorah was finally sealed away, handing the Destroyers a crushing defeat.
Even after that, the two camps kept getting into nasty skirmishes over the centuries, which humanity managed to witness and jot down.
By the time Vane dropped into the MonsterVerse, the timeline had already hit the explosive showdown between Godzilla and the male-female MUTO duo. This was the exact point when the existence of Titans went fully public.
For the uninitiated, MUTOs looked like overgrown, nightmarish insects. They rocked triangular heads with vicious mandibles, glowing red eyes, massive primary forelimbs, and a set of shorter secondary arms. Not only could they blast out EMPs to fry human electronics, but they could also chat over long distances using echolocation. Their diet of choice? Pure atomic energy. They bred by treating Godzilla’s internal nuclear reactor like a cozy maternity ward to lay their eggs.
Because of this lovely parasitic trait, they were Godzilla’s sworn enemies. If both sides were in the same zip code, a world-shaking brawl was absolutely guaranteed.
Thanks to the carnage from Godzilla and the MUTOs throwing down, world governments had teamed up to form Monarch, a shadowy agency tasked with tracking and studying the Titans.
So far, Monarch had uncovered seventeen of these behemoths, including Ghidorah, Behemoth, and Abaddon.
Scientists had gone into overdrive studying the giant monsters, churning out some wild tech in the process. We’re talking the ORCA—a fancy gadget meant to communicate with the Titans—along with Mechagodzilla, a robotic knockoff of the big lizard himself, and the Oxygen Destroyer, a superweapon cooked up just to take these monsters out.
Vane’s mission in this dimension was simple on paper: back the Protectors, wipe the floor with the Destroyers once and for all, and block the incoming alien invasion.
Knowing the mission and the original plot of the MonsterVerse inside out, Vane had drafted a foolproof game plan.
Step one: scavenge resources. Step two: convert that loot into EMC points. Step three: exchange those points for solid gold blocks and other high-value materials.
Thanks to the Titans stomping around and turning global stability into a joke, gold prices had skyrocketed. A single gold block weighed in at a staggering nineteen tons, and Vane was sitting on a stockpile so massive it could single-handedly dictate the international gold market.
Honestly, it wasn’t just gold. Vane could manipulate pretty much any bulk commodity out there. By playing his cards right, he easily raked in an ocean of cash that would make a Wall Street billionaire weep.
With his endless funds, he poured massive investments straight into Apex Cybernetics’ Mechagodzilla project.
In the original timeline, Mechagodzilla was built to be remote-controlled using the neural-link system salvaged from the skulls of King Ghidorah—the three-headed chump who had lost the fight for the title of Alpha.
But Apex clearly skipped their ghost-busting lessons. They had no idea that even though Ghidorah was dead, the alien’s nasty consciousness was still lingering inside that skull. The moment Apex secured the high-energy ore to finalize the mech’s power system, Ghidorah’s ghost hijacked the whole damn thing. Talk about tossing science straight out the window.
In the end, it took Godzilla teaming up with an axe-wielding Kong to put the cyber-resurrected Ghidorah back in the dirt.
But right now? The clash for the King of the Monsters hadn’t even kicked off yet.
Apex Cybernetics’ Mechagodzilla project was still in its infancy; they hadn’t even finalized the chassis blueprints.
Backed by Vane’s bottomless wallet, Apex’s R&D blew past the original timeline’s schedule. They didn’t have to grovel to Monarch or the government for funding anymore, giving them total creative freedom and autonomy.
Vane’s master plan was straightforward: push them to develop a bleeding-edge AI to replace Ghidorah’s haunted skull, creating an AI-driven Mechagodzilla.
The original Mechagodzilla was an absolute powerhouse. With its crazy reach and a Swiss Army knife’s worth of weapons, it beat Godzilla so badly the big guy started questioning his life choices. If Kong hadn’t swung in for the save, Mechagodzilla would’ve definitely flatlined the King of the Monsters.
Fueled by an unlimited budget, the Mechagodzilla project sprinted forward at mind-bending speeds.
The next time Vane swung by Apex for an inspection, CEO Walter Simmons eagerly showed off the initial, completed build of the mechanical titan.
The metal behemoth stood a towering four hundred feet tall and weighed north of six hundred thousand tons. It rocked a titanium alloy endoskeleton strapped over a T-1 nano-metal frame, making it tough enough to brawl with genuine Titans. It was a spitting image of Godzilla, complete with armored dorsal plates, buzzsaw claws hooked up to its arms, and missile pods strapped to its back and chest. To top it off, it could spew a devastating red Proton Scream.
“Our project is advancing smoothly, but our current reactors just can’t output enough juice to keep Godzilla fully operational,” Walter explained. “We need to get our hands on that specialized energy source from the Hollow Earth.”
“There’s also a secondary issue: the controls. Our current tech doesn’t allow for a remote piloting setup that fully disconnects the pilot from Mechagodzilla.”
“And if we build a cockpit inside the mech itself, we’re giving the enemy a massive, glaring weak spot.”
“Then ditch the manual controls and use an AI,” Vane shot back smoothly. “As long as you can guarantee the mech perfectly obeys human commands, we’re golden.”
Walter hesitated, looking a bit stressed. “Pivoting like that means we’d have to burn an insane amount of capital just to establish a dedicated AI division.”
“If it’s a problem money can solve, it’s not a problem,” Vane replied without missing a beat. “I’ll keep pumping in the investments. You’ll have all the cash you need to develop a combat-ready AI tailored perfectly for Mechagodzilla.”
“Excellent.” Hearing his billionaire backer greenlight the funds, Walter broke into a massive grin.
Bankrolled by Vane’s infinite war chest, Apex Cybernetics used Kong as a guide to delve into the Hollow Earth. They struck paydirt, successfully hauling back the high-energy ore needed to forge a brand-new power system.
Meanwhile, their AI division shattered expectations, cranking out their first-generation combat AI.
To put Mechagodzilla’s firepower to the test, Apex went ahead and captured a bunch of Skullcrawlers from Skull Island and the Hollow Earth…
…and other low-tier behemoths, tossing them straight into the training arena.
Boasting an indestructible steel chassis, a terrifyingly powerful Proton Scream, and mechanical claws capable of ripping apart actual Titans, Mechagodzilla tore through the captive Skullcrawlers like wet tissue paper. It put on a horrifying display of absolute dominance.
“Mr. Vane, with Mechagodzilla online, the age of the Titans is officially over. We are now entering the age of humanity!” Walter declared, looking at the finalized mechanical titan with absolute fanatical devotion.
“You’ve done a hell of a job,” Vane replied, genuinely impressed with Walter’s work.
Taking advantage of the tour, he casually rested a hand against Mechagodzilla’s cold steel hull. Just like that, he successfully unlocked the mech’s crafting blueprint. As long as he had the raw materials, he could churn out Mechagodzillas on an infinite assembly line.
But right on the heels of this massive success, some grim news dropped from Monarch’s camp. The Monarch outpost tasked with monitoring Mothra had just been hit by a terrorist strike. Every scientist on site was slaughtered, and the ORCA device—along with its creator, Dr. Emma Russell—was hijacked by the attackers.
Vane already knew exactly who was behind the bloodbath: a cell of eco-terrorists led by Alan Jonah. That crazy bastard knew all about the ancient Titan wars. His grand master plan was to unleash King Ghidorah and the rest of the slumbering Titans, plunging the entire globe into total chaos.
As for Dr. Emma Russell? After losing her son in the crossfire of Godzilla’s brawl with the MUTOs, she had completely snapped, transforming into a radical, anti-human fanatic. She was in bed with Jonah, plotting to set the monsters loose to wipe humanity off the map and hit the planet’s ultimate factory reset button. Even the bloody massacre at her own outpost had been an inside job she helped plan.
Next up on their apocalyptic road trip, these lunatics were heading straight for Antarctica to thaw out Ghidorah and kick off the ultimate King of the Monsters title bout.
Vane decided to piggyback off this little crisis. He’d use Mechagodzilla to beat every single Titan into submission, and while he was at it, he’d permanently retire those human traitors.
“Brace yourself, Walter. Mechagodzilla’s first real stress test is right around the corner,” Vane smirked. “Apex Cybernetics is about to skyrocket to the top, and you’re going to be front and center on the world stage.”
Walter blinked, a massive question mark practically hovering over his head. But it didn’t take long for the CEO to figure out exactly what Vane meant.
