Chapter 128: Chapter 108: Bloody Party (3)

"Catherine, you can’t do this to us. We’ve served the Jackson Family for so many years. We are its greatest contributors."

Viscount Hobbs said.

Khrish, Governor of Yusofa, panicked as well.

’This group was supposed to be my support, to obstruct Catherine’s smooth succession. Why does it now feel like they’re about to be wiped out?’

"Catherine, perhaps they spoke a bit out of turn, but they are your uncles. They were all once fiercely loyal to your father. The affairs of our Blue Moon Territory should be handled by us."

The meaning behind Khrish’s words was clear: Lian should not get involved.

A cold smile touched Catherine’s beautiful face as she linked her arm with Lian’s.

"Perhaps I haven’t had the chance to introduce him. This is my fiancé, Lord Lian Moria. His will is my will, and I shall abide by his every decision."

Lian lowered his head and kissed Catherine’s forehead. "To defend Catherine’s dignity, I will do anything—even if it means slaughtering every last defiler in Blue Moon Territory."

"Madman! Lian Moria, you’re a warmongering madman!"

Viscount Hobbs said.

Lian drew his broken blade. He hadn’t had the time to forge a new Knight’s Blade, so he had to continue making do with the damaged Snow Walk.

"Alright. Who is the next defiler to embrace death? My blade is thirsty."

Lian pointed his broken blade at Viscount Hobbs.

Viscount Hobbs, who had been roaring just a moment ago, instantly fell silent. Terrified, he ducked behind a tall Knight and stammered,

"Y-y-you... you can’t kill me! My Knight, Victor, is a Five-star Radiant Knight!"

The Knight named Victor, clad in armor, fixed Lian with a pair of sharp, eagle-like eyes.

"Lord Lian Moria, I advise you to be reasonable. This is a civilized nation. Your behavior is barbaric and violates the tenets of a Knight."

"Hah."

Lian sneered.

Worried Lian would be at a disadvantage, Knight Kage Mori stepped forward.

"Victor, I challenge you to a duel."

As a Five-star Glory Knight himself, Knight Kage Mori feared no one.

Victor’s brow furrowed slightly. They had once been sparring partners, but now they stood on opposing sides, each in service to his own master.

"You’re old, Kage Mori. You’re no match for me."

Victor said gravely.

Knight Kage Mori was even more grim. "Draw your sword, coward. Let me show you what a Knight’s creed truly is."

While Victor and Kage Mori were trading barbs, Lian, casting aside all etiquette, flashed forward.

With a flick of his wrist, Broken Blade Snow Walk lopped off Viscount Hobbs’s head.

The banquet hall fell deathly silent.

A moment later, panic erupted among the nobles.

Lian showed the traitors no mercy. He had Dora cover Catherine’s eyes as he turned the banquet into a bloodbath.

But Catherine pushed Dora’s hands away. She wanted to witness this scene with her own eyes.

"I know you all want to protect me, but I am no longer the naive young girl in the High Tower. I know the path I must walk, and it is, after all, filled with blood and thorns."

She slowly stepped forward, took Lian’s broken blade, and personally plunged it into a Baron’s abdomen.

Watching the blood gush forth, she raised the broken blade and declared to all present,

"I, Catherine Rochelle Hernandez Meherban Jackson, the thirteenth Patriarch of the Jackson family, have returned! Anyone who has betrayed the Jackson Family will face my wrath! Anyone who has harmed Blue Moon Territory will be cast into the Abyss by the blade in my hand!"
