Miss Witch’s Devotion Has Gone… Twisted
Chapter 690: News from Home
“All right, the concert is over.”
They had said everything they wanted to say, so there was no need for the concert to continue. Cecelia simply switched off the microphone.
If any other star had done that, their fans would have exploded.
Watching the fans begin to leave in an orderly fashion, Anna and the others were a little stunned.
“It’s over just like that?”
Veronica was bewildered. This was her first time attending a concert, and everything had been so new to her. Then, all of a sudden, it was over.
“Yes. Cecelia only put on the concert to have an excuse to make dumplings.”
“When did she make dumplings?”
Veronica didn’t understand Anna’s metaphor, but Anna patiently explained:
“She didn’t actually make dumplings. It’s just a metaphor.
“Cecelia wanted to confess her feelings to Master Mentor, so she held the concert. Now that she’s confessed, there’s no need for the concert to continue.”
“What are they going to do next?”
“Yes.”
“?”
Veronica stared blankly after hearing Anna’s answer, but when she saw everyone else leaving, she didn’t press the matter.
Everyone waited for a long time at the meeting place before Loren and Cecelia finally arrived. Seeing the look in Anna’s eyes, Loren felt a little awkward.
“Ahem. Let’s head back. The concert’s over.”
Loren quickly got into Cecelia’s car. The whole thing was indeed a little awkward, and Anna’s guess had been right. Loren and Cecelia really had spent quite a while together.
After Loren got into the car, Starnight transformed into a Dragon, preparing to carry everyone into the air.
During the flight, Anna kept watching Veronica, deep in thought.
After spending so much time with Mirrorheart, Anna had picked up a few tricks for reading people. She could tell at a glance that Veronica was still a virgin.
Anna kept thinking about how to help Veronica, but it seemed she genuinely had no desire for that sort of thing. Even if Anna was willing to help, Veronica herself had to want it.
Lost in thought, they returned to Cecelia’s home.
Just as Loren was about to go back to making Puppets, Panike suddenly grabbed him.
“Master…”
This time, she spoke much more fluently than before. It seemed Mirrorheart had really been working hard to teach her how to talk.
“What is it?”
Loren crouched down. Panike seemed to have stopped aging when she was still a little girl, and now she was the shortest of them all.
Naclis had to buy children’s underwear, and Panike had to buy children’s clothes, too.
Panike looked much more lively now, no longer seeming half-dead as she had before.
“I’m a legal loli. You can use me however you want.”
“?”
Loren had imagined plenty of things, but he never expected Panike to suddenly say that.
“Did Mirrorheart teach you to say that?”
“Yes.”
“Do you know what it means?”
“Yes.”
That was bad. Panike meant every word she said.
Mirrorheart hadn’t merely taught her a couple of inappropriate phrases. Panike understood what they meant, and she genuinely felt that way.
“Mirrorheart! Get over here!”
Loren was furious. Once again, Mirrorheart had led a good child astray.
“Did you need something, Master?”
At Loren’s call, Mirrorheart hurried over and knelt in front of him, her movements practiced to perfection.
“I told you to teach Panike. What exactly have you been teaching her?”
“I’ve been trying very hard to turn her into a hard labor slave.”
“Is that what I told you to do?”
Loren couldn’t hold back and grabbed Mirrorheart’s face, wondering whether it might actually give her pleasure.
Even with her face pulled out of shape, Mirrorheart’s voice remained calm:
“Panike’s mentality is already somewhat distorted. What she went through before can’t be summed up by saying it was simply tragic.
“Before she met you, she was constantly killed and brought back to life, over and over, until she had almost no ability to think left. It’s difficult for her to live independently, which is why she’s like this.
“Having her depend on you, the person who pulled her out of the Pit, and make you her whole world…
“That wasn’t the result of me deliberately leading her on. It was her own choice.”
Loren let go of Mirrorheart. He knew that what she had done wasn’t really wrong.
“She isn’t a whole person, and that’s hard to change, at least not in a short time. For now, we can help her stabilize. Once everything is over, we can help her change little by little.”
“Still, you didn’t have to turn her into a hard labor slave… Forget it. Let’s leave it at that.”
Loren had come to terms with it. They could let things take their course.
With that, Loren suddenly appeared in the laboratory.
“Mirrorheart, Master has already left. Why aren’t you standing up?”
After Loren left, Veronica came over with a Lollipop in her hand and asked.
“Master hasn’t told me to stand up, so I can’t.”
Veronica still couldn’t understand the way Mirrorheart’s mind worked. She licked her Lollipop and left.
They had already finished dinner anyway. If Mirrorheart wanted to kneel, she could kneel.
…
After working hard until evening, Loren finished making a new Puppet.
This time, he chose Evelyn. Her role was similar to Akali’s: an invisible assassin. She was less mobile than Akali, but in exchange, she dealt more damage and her invisibility was stronger.
It looked like this.
To be precise, the Puppets Loren had made didn’t have much to do with the original characters. They merely had similar abilities and appearances.
Only the last one remained. Loren had the other Puppets keep working on it while he went to bed.
As soon as Loren entered the Bedroom, he saw Cecelia waiting for him.
She was thrilled to have finally made their relationship public in front of everyone, so she came to see Loren again that evening.
Reflection Naclis was still hiding in Loren’s shadow, but he didn’t chase her away, so she continued to watch…
Once Cecelia was exhausted, Reflection Naclis, who had been waiting for her turn, immediately took her place.
Loren didn’t get much sleep that night. When he got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, he found Mirrorheart still kneeling in the same spot.
“Why are you still here… Forget it, why am I even asking?”
Loren simply picked Mirrorheart up. Since she was already there…
After a busy night, Loren didn’t wake up until the afternoon the next day.
Meanwhile, the final Puppet was nearly finished. Loren would soon be able to begin the next stage of his plan.
Loren glanced at that day’s newspapers and suddenly said:
“Anna, didn’t you want to go home? Let’s go back for a visit.
“The war between the Epidemic and Bountifulness has grown even more intense, to the point that it’s drawn the attention of a Mythical Creature. It’s the Desolation Deer we need.
“And I also saw a familiar name: Jessica. She’s gone to the battlefield.”
