Mommy, Daddy Has Already Regretted It
Chapter 163: Zachery and Mia Are Here to Slap Some Faces
Chapter 163: Chapter 163: Zachery and Mia Are Here to Slap Some Faces
Meanwhile, at the Sloan villa.
Zachery and Mia got out of the car and were led into a reception room. The assistant dropped them off and immediately left. Soon, the two little ones were the only ones left in the room.
Zachery looked around and lowered his voice, as if he had just uncovered a grand conspiracy. "Mia, I feel like something isn’t right."
Mia was speechless. Her foolish brother was only just now noticing something was wrong. She had known something was off the moment that so-called assistant approached them.
Half an hour ago, the kindergarten principal had personally brought a man to find them. He claimed that Old Mr. Sloan wanted to see his great-grandchildren and put them in the car. But if he wanted to see them, why didn’t he tell Christian?
It was highly suspicious.
They waited for ten minutes, yet no one showed up. Leaving two five-year-olds alone in an unfamiliar environment would inevitably cause panic. Although Mia wasn’t scared, she had already deduced the truth. This was a deliberate show of dominance designed to embarrass them. Afterward, these people from the Sloan family would claim that their mommy didn’t know how to raise children and had turned them into unpresentable cowards.
But did the Sloan family really think they could scheme against her?
Sitting on the sofa, Mia dangled her short legs. Looking absolutely adorable, she flashed a sweet smile and leaned in to whisper her plan to Zachery.
Zachery puffed out his cheeks. Then, his brows relaxed. Finally, realization dawned on him! He genuinely praised her. "Mia, you must be a genius! What about me? What should I do?"
Mia guessed that it wasn’t Old Mr. Sloan who wanted to see them. Instead, it was that old witch, Laura Jennings, deliberately making things difficult for them. Mia had decided to give her a taste of her own medicine. But what about him? What was his role?
Mia pondered for a moment and shook her head. "You silly goose, Zachery, just be yourself."
Zachery nodded excitedly. "Okay, okay, I understand! Hmm... Wait a minute?"
In a plan that required pretending to be foolish to make the enemy reveal their flaws, Mia didn’t ask him to pretend to be a fool. She told him to be himself...
Zachery’s brain processed this for two seconds before he asked in tragic indignation, "Are you calling me a dummy?!"
Mia was speechless.
Another ten minutes passed.
Several servants walked by during this time, but they completely ignored the children, acting as if they didn’t exist at all.
Suddenly, a clamor erupted outside the door. A crowd of people swarmed in, fawning over someone with flattering words.
"Mr. Keith, we heard you like blueberries. Mrs. Sloan had them prepared for you long ago."
"Mr. Keith, Mrs. Sloan has been waiting for you for quite a while. Hurry, hurry, out of the way, everyone! The weather is hot, so don’t block Mr. Keith outside!"
"Please come in, Mr. Keith! You’ll be staying at the old manor for a while. That room you took a liking to last time belongs to Young Mr. Christian. However, Mrs. Sloan said that since Young Mr. Christian doesn’t come back to stay anyway, she made the decision to give that room to you!"
"That’s right, Mr. Keith! Even though you are Mrs. Sloan’s grandnephew, you’re practically her own grandson!"
Hearing this, Zachery figured out the identity of this "Mr. Keith." He was the grandson of that old witch Laura Jennings’ brother. Was she out of her mind? Giving her biological grandson’s room to her grandnephew—someone would have to have screws loose to do something so absurd!
Mia’s eyes flickered. She discreetly poked Zachery’s hand, signaling that this Keith Jennings was up to no good.
Sure enough, a moment later, Keith shifted his fat body. With an arrogant expression, he looked at Zachery and Mia with disdain and scoffed coldly.
"Who are these two? How many times do I have to say it? Grandma doesn’t allow you servants to bring your own kids to the Sloan villa!"
Mia clicked her tongue. There it was—the show of dominance.
A woman who looked like a housekeeper hurried forward, chiming in to play along. "Mr. Keith, these two aren’t the children of servants. They... They are Mr. Zachery and Miss Mia, who were just brought back to the family!"
The fat on Keith’s face jiggled. "So it’s those two little bastards. It figures they grew up on the streets. They have no manners at all. Don’t you know how to greet your older brother?!"
The housekeeper’s eyes darted around as she feigned panic. "Oh my! Mr. Zachery, Miss Mia, I forgot to introduce you. This is a cousin of the Sloan family. He has been raised by Mrs. Sloan since he was little and grew up right here in the Sloan home. His status is virtually the same as Young Mr. Christian’s. Therefore, you should also call him your older cousin! Mr. Keith is older than you and has been with the Sloan family much longer than you have. You’d better greet him properly and say hello!"
Zachery frowned. Although his brain had never been particularly sharp when it came to reading social cues, even he could figure out that today’s events were a deliberate scheme to put him and Mia in their place.
Right now, everyone knew that he and Mia were their scumbag father’s biological children. Yet, everyone in the Sloan family ignored them, choosing instead to dote on and coddle this cousin. That was their first show of dominance. Upon seeing them, Keith had first made snide remarks about them being "children of servants" before mocking them as bastards who weren’t fit to be mentioned in the same breath as the noble Sloan family. That was the second show of dominance.
Finally, with Keith threatening them and the housekeeper using a mix of coercion and cajolery, they wanted the two true heirs of the Sloan family to grovel and suck up to Keith. If that happened, regardless of the truth, word would spread. Others would assume that the two Sloan bloodline children who had grown up wandering outside were indeed completely unpresentable.
Consequently, many people would question their mommy’s ability to raise children! Having run through the entire logical sequence in his head, Zachery gritted his teeth. These people were so wicked!
Mia, on the other hand, remained calm. She shot them a brief glance but otherwise ignored them. Sitting perfectly upright on the sofa, she appeared unhurried and entirely unfazed. This formed a stark contrast with Keith, whose fleshy face was contorted in arrogant, domineering, and impotent rage.
Keith waited smugly for the true young master and young lady of the Sloan family to greet him. By doing so, he could prove that his status was even higher than that of the genuine Sloan heirs. After all, the entire Jennings family had always told him that Christian Sloan’s sickly body definitely wouldn’t survive to adulthood. Therefore, the Sloan family would inevitably be his for the taking.
As a result, Keith had always felt that the Sloan villa was his, the old manor was his, and the company was his. Everyone in the Sloan family had to greet him respectfully. So what if they were Nathaniel Sloan’s biological son and daughter? Grandma would help him anyway. They were just two little bastards; they would surely piss their pants in terror the moment they saw him!
However, he waited for a long time without receiving the fearful greetings and pleas for mercy he expected from Zachery and Mia. Furious, Keith lashed out. "As expected, children raised by a hillbilly are nothing but hillbillies themselves!"
Suddenly, his sharp eyes caught sight of a jade pendant around Mia’s neck. His eyes instantly lit up. Shouting loudly, he reached out to snatch it.
"Where did a hillbilly like you get such a nice jade pendant? You didn’t steal it, did you? Give it to me, it’s mine now—AAAH!"
Mia seized Keith’s fat, greasy hand and gave it a seemingly effortless pinch. Instantly, Keith erupted into a chorus of agonizing wails!
Keith fell hard onto the floor and began throwing a wild tantrum with zero restraint. He spewed every vulgar curse word imaginable; it was hard to believe he was only a five-year-old child.
He had been crying for less than a minute when Laura Jennings rushed over in a panic. She let out a shrill scream. "My precious grandnephew! How dare you two little bastards hit people?! Is there no justice in this world?!"
