Mommy, Daddy Has Already Regretted It
Chapter 271: The Three Little Ones’ Future Good Friends Appear
Chapter 271: Chapter 271: The Three Little Ones’ Future Good Friends Appear
For the first time, Noelle Lockwood felt true despair. The relatives who kept claiming they loved her dearly were all forcing her to kneel! To kneel before Estelle Lockwood! Why had the world turned out like this? Wasn’t she born a lucky charm?
But now, her third aunt was grabbing her head and slamming it against the floor over and over again, not stopping even when her forehead broke open and bled. And her grandfather, father, mother... these people were crying out, "Let go of her, my poor daughter!" yet they did absolutely nothing to stop it! If they truly felt sorry for her, they should have died in her place!
Estelle calmly watched the spectacle for a moment before raising her hand. Outside the door, the police who had been waiting broke into the room. Estelle had no interest in looking at the Lockwoods anymore. Her grudges against Austin Lockwood and Rose Lowell ended here.
Just as she was about to leave, Noelle suddenly screamed, "Estelle, I have one more secret! Let me go, and I’ll tell you—"
Estelle walked straight out of Lockwood Manor. Behind her, the Lockwoods’ wailing and screaming faded into the distance as Noelle finally broke down. Moving forward, the Lockwoods would face legal sanctions. Those who deserved prison would be jailed, and those who deserved death would face execution.
"Estelle Lockwood," a sinister female voice sounded near her ear. Princess Avery had just received a call from Prince Avery, who had scolded her mercilessly. She let out a dark, cold sneer. "We are not done."
Estelle raised an eyebrow, narrowing her eyes at Princess Avery’s retreating back. For some reason, she had sensed the princess’s hostility toward her from the very first glance. Yet they were complete strangers.
After the dust settled, Henry Kendrick and Penelope Sullivan flanked Estelle. They fussed over her for quite a while, only breathing a sigh of relief when they were absolutely certain she was safe.
Penelope breathed a sigh of relief. "Well, now that the Lockwoods’ deeds are known to the whole world, they won’t be able to make any more waves. As for Noelle... I heard she’s gone mad."
Estelle raised an eyebrow. "Mad?"
"She probably couldn’t handle the fall from grace. She keeps screaming that she was born a lucky charm and that she’s the main character of this world. Do you think she’s sick in the head?"
Perhaps she was. Estelle figured that since Noelle had grown up pampered by the Lockwoods, with Rose constantly calling her a "lucky charm," it had probably given Noelle unwarranted delusions. And now, ending up in prison and losing all her glory, it was entirely in Noelle’s nature to lose her mind.
"Oh, right. When Noelle was throwing her fit, she also mentioned she had a secret that she would take to her grave... and that she’d never tell you."
Estelle paused. "A secret?"
"Yeah. The police investigated her and searched her top to bottom, but they didn’t find any secret."
Estelle twirled a pen between her fingers. "Then let her take her secret to the grave." Noelle was deliberately shouting about this secret in the hope that Estelle would bail her out. By showing no curiosity, Estelle would only make Noelle more anxious.
"Mommy!" Zachery ran over excitedly and threw himself into Estelle’s arms. He sweetly greeted Penelope and Henry, "Hi, Ms. Penelope! Hi, Mr. Henry!"
Penelope’s heart melted. "What’s got our little Zachery so excited?"
"Mommy, the kindergarten is organizing a fall field trip! Are you going to come with us?"
At the same time, Estelle received a message from the kindergarten. Elite kindergartens like this frequently held activities where parents and children could play together. The venue for this fall field trip was a picturesque little village. These days, the wealthier the city dwellers were, the more they yearned for a pastoral lifestyle. The village had well-developed tourism facilities, so the kindergarten choosing that location ensured safety as well. However, if a child was going, they had to be accompanied by a parent. It was a strict rule.
Meeting Zachery’s excited little expression, Estelle’s heart softened. "Of course. I’ll go with you."
Zachery let out a little cheer. "What about Daddy?"
Nathaniel Sloan, who had arrived at some unknown point, answered, "Naturally, I’ll be coming along too."
The kindergarten’s destination wasn’t far. A luxury coach bus waited at the school gate while a group of children chattered excitedly. Each of them carried a small backpack, full of anticipation for the trip. Mia stood obediently to the side, wearing a little yellow duck backpack.
"If you ask me, the principal is completely blind. How can any country bumpkin be allowed to be my classmate?" Suddenly, a nasty, grating voice rang out. A boy, also about five or six years old but with eyes devoid of innocence and full of malicious calculation, charged straight toward Mia.
Mia dodged to the side. BANG! Scott York slammed right into the bus. Seeing stars from the pain, he cried, "You... you just wait!"
Mia couldn’t be bothered to argue with an idiot.
This Scott York had transferred to the school not long ago. Ever since he arrived, for some crazy reason, he had latched onto her and Zachery, constantly calling them country bumpkins. At first, Zachery thought Scott just wanted to play with them. It was only later he realized that Scott had no intention of playing; he was deliberately targeting them! Zachery really was a little fool!
She had no idea who Scott’s parents were to have raised such a brat. At kindergarten, he would either steal things or outright snatch them. Whatever Scott set his eyes on, he had to take it by force, which annoyed a lot of people. This time, Scott was acting crazy again. Who knew what had gotten into him? Disregarding the crowd, he yelled directly at Mia and looked as if he wanted to hit her.
The surrounding parents couldn’t stand watching this. "Whose child is this? The little girl was just standing there minding her own business. Why did he have to go and provoke her?"
"Boohoo, Daddy! Scott bullies me at kindergarten every day!"
"What? Sweetheart, tell Daddy what happened."
Once one child started crying, the rest of the children followed suit.
"Mommy, Scott stole my hair clip..."
"Daddy, Scott steals my milk every day... Waaah..."
The parents immediately panicked. "Darling, why didn’t you tell Mommy and Daddy before?"
"Scott said his family is rich and powerful! He said we’d be dead meat if we dared to tell anyone!"
The crying continued endlessly. Almost every child voiced their complaints about Scott’s terrible behavior. At this point, the parents could no longer stay calm.
"Whose kid is this? Come on, let’s go demand an explanation from the principal!"
"Bullying kids and threatening them to stay quiet? Isn’t this just school bullying?"
"I thought things like this wouldn’t happen at Crestfall Kindergarten, but who knew...!"
"His last name is York? Could it be that York family?"
Seeing the mocking and disdainful looks from the crowd, Scott didn’t hold back in the slightest. Instead, he grew even more vicious, screaming at the top of his lungs, "Mia Lockwood, how dare you tattle on me!"
Mia stared at him in sheer confusion. She carefully examined Scott’s facial features and mentally read his fortune. How should she put it? She wondered if her fortune-telling skills were lacking. Scott seemed to have done every bad deed under the sun, yet his fortune indicated that he was simply a little fool. It made absolutely no sense.
Seeing Scott wave his fists at Mia again, a few parents nearby immediately stepped forward and pulled Mia away, their expressions filled with disgust. "Hurry! Call Scott’s parents, or we’re calling the police!"
"Please don’t be hasty!" an anxious female voice suddenly rang out.
Mia turned to look. It was that bad woman, Thea York.
