Mommy, Daddy Has Already Regretted It
Chapter 274: The Three Little Ones’ Plan
Chapter 274: Chapter 274: The Three Little Ones’ Plan
Christian wasn’t usually one to meddle, but a sudden possibility had crossed his mind today.
"No matter what Thea York has planned, Mia will be perfectly fine. But you’re a different story." Playing on the boy’s emotions, Christian continued, "Scott, you aren’t actually happy living with the Yorks, are you?
"You’re actually very smart. You know what Thea wants to do, but you don’t have a choice. You can only follow her plan step by step. After all, you’re still a child and can’t leave the York family. If you don’t do as she demands, you’ll suffer the consequences when you go home.
"But if something were to happen to Mia... Scott, what do you think the Yorks would do to you?"
Mia stared at the cluster of dark energy resting between Scott’s eyebrows. She could tell that Scott himself wasn’t a bad person. In fact, this dark energy wasn’t even meant for him. It looked more like he was bearing the brunt of someone else’s misfortune.
Christian sighed. "You saw it yourself just now. You clearly didn’t do anything, but Thea shoved all the blame onto you. It’s like she can’t wait for the whole world to know you’re a bad kid.
"People easily believe the worst of a ’bad kid,’ right? Even if you did bully Mia, Thea could just brush it off by saying, ’It’s all because Scott is just too naughty; he’s been like this since he was little.’
"If something happens to Mia, all the blame will fall on you. The York family will remain completely innocent.
"But do you really want to sacrifice yourself for the Yorks, Scott? You don’t want that, do you? Putting Mia aside and just talking about you—
"You’re a member of the York family too, yet this is how they treat you. They’re the ones who want to hurt someone, but since they refuse to take responsibility, they’re using you as a scapegoat. Even if the law is lenient because you’re only five, wouldn’t your entire life be ruined anyway?
"From now on, whenever people mention you, they’ll only call you a little villain. Even your late parents will be cursed and insulted by everyone.
"But none of this is actually your fault, right, Scott?"
Scott’s entire body stiffened. He pursed his lips, not daring to meet Christian’s gaze.
Mia and Zachery were both stunned. Mia hadn’t expected Thea to be targeting her, nor had she expected the young master to figure it all out so quickly! As expected of the young master!
Christian turned to Mia. "There are a lot of mountains around here. If Thea abandoned you in the mountains for an entire day, would you be scared?"
Mia was very honest. "Nope."
"You might not be scared if you were just alone, but what if Thea hired people to frighten you?" Christian pointed out. "You’re only five years old. You’d be all by yourself, away from Mommy, Daddy, and your brothers. If you were left in the mountains for a whole day with no food or water, you’d probably catch a high fever even if you weren’t scared out of your wits."
Mia tilted her head and thought about it. Yes, it was true—if it were a normal little girl, she would definitely be terrified.
"Thea bears a huge grudge against us," Christian said. "But since Daddy, Mommy, and the kindergarten teachers are all here for this event, she wouldn’t dare make too big of a scene. So I’m guessing her way of teaching you a lesson would be to deliberately frighten you.
"However, she won’t do it herself. She’ll make Scott do it.
"When you’re finally found, crying and saying that Scott scared you, how do you think things will play out?"
Following normal logic, Mia replied, "The kindergarten would expel Scott. To placate me, the Yorks would punish him. They might even just abandon him completely and leave him to fend for himself."
Christian nodded. "Exactly. In reality, the York family never liked Scott to begin with. You’ve noticed it too, Mia—Scott is just a tool for those two wicked women, Thea and Mrs. York, to maintain their own pristine images. How could they possibly treat the grandson of the first wife well?"
A strong sense of justice immediately surged within Mia. "I get it now! Thea is so shameless!"
An adult wanted to bully her but didn’t even have the guts to do it herself, choosing to use a child instead! When the time came, everyone would simply say that Scott was a terrible kid. And to "beg for her forgiveness," Thea would purposefully punish Scott.
On the surface, it would look as if the York family had done all they could. But in truth, they were itching for the first wife’s grandson to just drop dead and stop getting in their way.
How sinister! How vicious!
Zachery was still struggling to digest the meaning behind the young master’s words, while Scott kept his lips pressed tightly together, not uttering a single sound.
Christian chuckled softly, his voice gentle. "Scott, you don’t want to be used by the Yorks, do you? Actually, I know you’re a good kid. We all want to be friends with you, but the York family’s actions have left you completely isolated. You don’t want that either, right?"
Mia thought to herself that the young master truly lived up to the title of a top-tier manipulator. Watching Scott’s defensive expression slowly soften, she pursed her lips and chimed in, "It’s also Thea’s idea for you to deliberately bully your classmates all the time, isn’t it?
"Look at how many kids there are in the kindergarten, yet no one wants to play with you. But none of this is actually your fault. You should tell everyone the truth."
A flicker of emotion passed through Scott’s eyes. He was chubby and quite tall—standing in front of him, the three kids truly looked like three tiny tots. But his gaze was very pure. In Mia’s words, he was just a little blockhead.
Scott looked like he wanted to say something. His lips moved, but in the end, he simply lowered his head in despair. "No one will believe me."
Christian smiled warmly. "How could that be? Look, we believe you."
Scott pressed his lips together, staying silent.
"Forget it, forget it," Mia suddenly said. "No good deed goes unpunished. If he doesn’t appreciate it, then let’s just drop it. He’s the one who’ll suffer the losses anyway."
Christian shook his head helplessly as well. "Alright. I initially thought that since we’re all classmates, we should help out however we can. But if he’s not willing, there’s nothing we can do."
The three kids made a move to get up and see their guest out. For some unknown reason, panic suddenly gripped Scott’s heart.
He swallowed hard and muttered in a small voice, "Will you guys really help me?"
Christian and Mia exchanged a glance.
Meanwhile, Thea York returned to her room. Frowning, she made a phone call. "Is everything I asked you to prepare ready?"
"Don’t worry, Miss York. We’ve already arrived outside the village. When the time comes, we’ll just say we were passing through. No one will suspect a thing."
Satisfied, Thea hummed in acknowledgment. "Good."
Hanging up the phone, a cold sneer surfaced on her face. "Scott, who told your parents to die?" she thought. "And Stella York is too busy to look after you. Sigh, you can only blame your own bad luck. Who asked your grandmother to be the York family’s first wife? Ah, such is fate."
Back in Christian’s room.
Christian rested his chin in his hand. "So, you don’t know what Thea wants to do either? You only know that she keeps whispering in your ear, hinting that Mia is super annoying and that she’s the reason you’re being alienated by everyone?"
Scott kept his head down. "Yeah."
Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck Christian as a thought came to mind.
