Mommy, Daddy Has Already Regretted It
Chapter 277: Mia Face-slaps Thea York
Chapter 277: Chapter 277: Mia Face-slaps Thea York
Thea York looked even more helpless. "Estelle, there’s no need for you to defend Scott just out of respect for our families’ relationship..."
"Respect for our families? Aunt York, what kind of relationship do our two families even have?"
A soft, sweet girl’s voice chimed in with deep curiosity. Mia popped her head out, seemingly very confused by this statement. She turned around in bafflement and asked, "Daddy, do we need to show Aunt York any respect?"
Nathaniel Sloan’s lips curled into a faint smile. "None at all," he said calmly.
Mia nodded and turned back around. "Aunt York, you heard him! We don’t owe you any respect, so please don’t flatter yourself!"
Thea was speechless.
Swallowing her frustration, Thea forced a stiff smile. "Mia, Aunt York saw you wearing a yellow watch this morning. Why aren’t you wearing it now?"
Mia’s eyes darted around. She exchanged a glance with Christian and Zachery before looking over at Scott.
Just as expected, a hurt expression crossed Scott’s face, though he remained silent—a clear result of being suppressed by the York Family for so many years.
Mia flashed a meaningful look. "I didn’t expect Aunt York to care about me so much! Yes, I was indeed wearing a watch this morning."
The two streamers exchanged a glance and silently began to steer the narrative in their livestream chat.
"Looks like the theft is undeniable. The little girl was wearing her watch this morning, and it vanished right after lunch. If it wasn’t stolen, what else could’ve happened?"
"I heard that watch was custom-made and extremely expensive. Of all things to steal, he went for such a pricey watch. How greedy."
"Maybe he stole it precisely because he knew how much it was worth!"
"Isn’t the York Family going to come out and explain this? Why is your young master a habitual thief?!"
"Oh, didn’t Thea York just say it earlier? He’s the grandson left behind by the first wife. What can Mrs. York do now? She can’t hit him or scold him."
At the York Family’s home.
Mrs. York watched the online discourse with immense satisfaction.
Scott was nothing but an idiot who merely held the title of being the first wife’s descendant. Just because he was the grandson left behind by that woman, those old fogeys in the company actually had the nerve to suggest grooming Scott as the heir!
They claimed that the York Group owed all its current success to the first wife’s contributions. What absolute nonsense! She was the current Madam of the York Family!
Seeing all these people hurl insults at Scott made Mrs. York feel incredibly vindicated.
Back at the kindergarten.
After Mia finished her sentence, she turned to look at Scott under everyone’s watchful eyes.
Thea naturally caught her gaze. Overjoyed inwardly, she feigned ignorance and asked, "Mia, where is your watch?"
Mia suddenly lowered her head. Tears welled up in her eyes, making her look as if she were on the verge of crying.
From Thea’s perspective, this was clearly Mia Lockwood feeling wronged but not daring to speak up!
That made sense. Under her subtle instructions, Scott had been bullying Mia at the kindergarten.
What would a five-year-old child know? If she was bullied and told not to tell her parents, she wouldn’t dare breathe a word to Estelle Lockwood. Therefore, Mia must be absolutely terrified of Scott.
Now that her watch had been snatched away by Scott, she was probably too scared to tell the truth!
Although Thea wasn’t an actress, her acting skills were top-notch. "Mia, why are you looking at Scott like that? Could it be... was your watch really taken by him?"
Mia remained silent.
Feeling that victory was within her grasp, Thea pushed harder. "Mia, don’t be afraid. Aunt York is here. If Scott really did this, I will definitely make him apologize to you!"
Mia still didn’t say a word.
Thea thought heaven was truly on her side. Mia’s reaction gave her even more material to spin this to her advantage!
"Mia... don’t be scared. Just tell us the truth. Scott stole it, didn’t he? Your watch is so expensive; he must have had his eye on it for a long time. Seeing a perfect opportunity during this autumn field trip, he finally made his move..."
Mia’s shoulders began to tremble.
Thea rejoiced inwardly. "I know Scott is always bullying you at kindergarten and you’re too afraid to tell on him. But it’s okay! Aunt York will definitely stand up for you now. All you have to do is say it..."
Mia’s shoulders trembled even more violently.
Thea was certain that Mia was crying her eyes out. Yes, this was perfect! She wanted everyone to see that Scott York was already stealing and bullying his classmates to tears at the mere age of five. Let’s see what those old fogeys at the York Group would have to say about this!
"Mia, just say it. It’s alright. Scott has been bullying you..."
"HAHAHA!" Mia wiped away the tears of laughter from the corners of her eyes.
Only then did the crowd realize that her shoulders had been trembling because she was trying so hard to hold back her laughter!
Unable to hold it in any longer, Mia clutched her stomach and burst out laughing. "Aunt York, what are you even talking about? Why is it getting more and more ridiculous the more I listen? Scott bullying people?"
Mia looked over at Zachery and Christian. "Did Scott ever bully you guys?"
Zachery immediately patted his chest. "Nope!"
Christian also nodded with an elegant, scholarly air. "Of course not. Scott is our friend. Why would he bully us?"
Mia turned her head back. "You heard them, Aunt York. Scott has never bullied us at all. What are you rambling about? Saying he bullied us and we were too scared to tell? That’s so funny. Are you making up stories?"
A brief moment of silence fell over the scene and the livestream chat.
Some people instinctively looked at Thea.
Thea’s expression stiffened slightly. What the hell were these three little brats playing at?!
"Mia, you don’t have to cover for Scott. I know he has a bad temper. He must have been..."
"Aunt York, let me make myself clear."
Although Mia was only five years old, her imposing aura was unmatched. She enunciated every single word.
"Scott York has never bullied us. Are you unable to understand what that means, Aunt York?
"I’m actually a bit curious. You are clearly Scott’s aunt, so why do you keep trying to mislead everyone into thinking he bullies people at kindergarten? Are you hanging out at the kindergarten all day, every day? Or perhaps the kindergarten you’re talking about exists in a completely different dimension from ours?
"Otherwise, why would you adamantly insist that Scott bullied us when we’ve never been bullied at all? Wouldn’t we, the supposed ’victims,’ know best if we had been picked on?"
Thea’s pupils trembled violently.
What did this mean? What did these three little brats mean?! They were actually speaking up for Scott!
But Scott really had been bullying his classmates at kindergarten...
"Mia... you don’t need to cover up something as serious as school bullying for him..."
"Aunt York."
Christian remained completely calm. Wearing an expression of utter innocence, laced with just the right amount of feigned naivety, he said, "All of our classmates are here for the autumn field trip. If you really want to know whether Scott is a school bully, why don’t you just go ask everyone?"
That was right.
The crowd suddenly came to a realization.
Even if some bullied children had been too afraid to speak up before, right now, Scott’s guardian, their own parents, and the kindergarten teachers were all present—and there was even a live broadcast running. What was there to be afraid of? Furthermore, a simple five-year-old child wouldn’t be able to hide their facial expressions if they had truly been bullied.
Swallowing her rising anger, Thea offered a sheepish smile. "I... I only heard rumors. But didn’t another classmate mention before that Scott snatched her milk to drink? I just figured that since he has a history of bullying others, perhaps..."
