Mommy, Daddy Has Already Regretted It
Chapter 473: Everyone Went to the Tidal Pavilion
Chapter 473: Chapter 473: Everyone Went to the Tidal Pavilion
The guests froze in their tracks. They exchanged confused glances for a moment before nodding and asking cautiously, "Yes, she is Miss Yeats... Is there a problem?"
"How could her surname be Yeats?" Mr. Summers looked puzzled for a long moment. He glanced out at the restaurant’s sign, confirmed it was indeed Seaview Tower, and turned back to the hall. Furrowing his brows slightly, he asked again, "The person hosting a banquet here today is a Yeats?"
The guests were at a loss for words.
They weren’t fools; everyone could tell something was amiss. The star of today’s event was undoubtedly Claire Yeats. But judging from Mr. Summers’s tone, the person he was looking for clearly wasn’t Claire.
A sudden sense of foreboding washed over Claire. A vein throbbed on her temple as she instinctively stepped forward to speak, but she was a step too late.
Mr. Summers feigned hesitation. "Before I came, I asked multiple times and was told that the person hosting the birthday banquet today had the surname Lockwood. How did it change to Yeats...?"
Suddenly, he furrowed his brows and glared fiercely at the owner of Seaview Tower. "Could it be that you were intentionally deceiving me?!"
"I-I..." Cold sweat beaded on the owner’s forehead.
Mr. Summers flared up in anger. "Where is Estelle Lockwood?! I came to celebrate Young Lockwood’s birthday! Where is she? Why has the star of the banquet changed?! To think that Seaview Tower deliberately hid this from me!"
A loud BUZZ echoed in the owner’s head as panic set in.
He couldn’t afford to offend Mr. Summers! Mr. Summers’s word was absolute law in the culinary world. At the end of the day, Seaview Tower was a restaurant. If Mr. Summers said a single bad word about them, would they ever have customers again?
"It’s a misunderstanding. It’s all a misunderstanding..." he stammered.
"Where exactly is Young Lockwood?!"
Just then, someone in the crowd muttered, "Mr. Summers actually came looking for Estelle Lockwood..."
"You know Young Lockwood?" Mr. Summers frowned. "Where is she? She told me a few days ago that she would be hosting her banquet at Seaview Tower. Just who are all of you?"
Not daring to hide the truth, the person gulped. Braving Old Mrs. Yeats’s murderous glare, he answered tremblingly, "Miss Lockwood is... she’s across the street. She’s hosting her birthday banquet across the street today..."
Mr. Summers looked over at the desolate Tidal Pavilion across the street. His indifferent gaze swept over the crowd before landing on Claire’s face, as if searing her features into his memory. Without a moment’s hesitation, he turned and strode toward Tidal Pavilion.
"Since the host today is not Young Lockwood, I will be taking my chefs back!" Mr. Summers directed his words at the owner of Seaview Tower, but he deliberately made sure Claire heard him loud and clear. "You deliberately hid the truth and made my apprentices cook for this imposter! Someone will be coming to settle this score with you later!"
"Mr. Summers, Mr. Summers..." the owner pleaded, trying to make him stay.
Claire clenched her jaw tightly as waves of humiliation washed over her.
Mr. Summers’s apprentices left immediately. The banquet at Seaview Tower was only halfway done, and before all the dishes could be served, their chefs were gone.
The guests began to whisper among themselves.
"Mr. Summers went to Tidal Pavilion too..."
"He said he specifically came to celebrate Estelle Lockwood’s birthday..."
"Wait... since Mr. Summers arranged for his apprentices to come to Seaview Tower, does that mean Estelle really planned to host her birthday banquet here a few days ago? Did the owner kick her out just to curry favor with Claire Yeats?"
"And now he’s offended Mr. Summers. I really don’t know what to say."
"Offending Old Mr. Rhodes was one thing. Seaview Tower doesn’t rely on him to stay in business, but it’s still a restaurant."
"A restaurant that offended the number one figure in the domestic culinary world. Even with Seaview Tower’s prestige, whenever people mention it in the future, they’ll say it’s the restaurant Mr. Summers despises."
"Yeah... just because of Mr. Summers’s words, Seaview Tower might not be able to maintain its status."
Sweat poured down the owner’s forehead. His whole body trembled, and his eyes were bloodshot as he hurriedly looked at Claire. "Miss Yeats! I did all of this for you!"
Claire bit her lip hard.
Old Mrs. Yeats flew into a rage. "What do you mean you did this for Claire?! You offended someone yourself, so what gives you the right to blame my Claire? If you ask me, that Old Mr. Summers is just a stubborn old fossil! I can’t believe you all respect him so much!
"Anyone who chooses to go to Estelle’s side clearly has no taste! So what if we offended him? Does the Yeats family look like we’re afraid of him?!"
The guests were speechless. Sure, the Yeats family wasn’t afraid, but they certainly were.
The owner of Seaview Tower, in particular, felt like he was about to faint.
Claire had no choice but to speak up and comfort him. "You don’t need to worry... I’ll go and explain things to Mr. Summers later. He probably doesn’t know I’m from the Yeats family. Once he finds out, he’ll surely give us face and drop the matter with you."
Only then did the owner calm down.
A while later.
No other guests had arrived at Tidal Pavilion. Seaview Tower remained as bustling and lively as ever. Even with the addition of Old Mr. Rhodes and Mr. Summers, Tidal Pavilion’s turnout still couldn’t compare to Seaview Tower’s.
Claire let out a quiet sigh of relief, a small smirk playing on her lips.
Estelle hadn’t invited those two using her own reputation; she had relied on favors. It was obvious that reclusive seniors like Old Mr. Rhodes and Mr. Summers didn’t care about money or connections—they were just repaying a debt of gratitude.
Thinking this made her feel much better.
Suddenly, a procession of luxury cars pulled up outside, instantly reviving the commotion!
"Wait, look over there! That’s the emblem of the Aethel Group!"
"People from the Aethel Group are here too? Could it be Mr. Lynch?"
"Who is Mr. Lynch here for?"
Then, the crowd watched as the people from Aethel walked straight into Tidal Pavilion, not even sparing Seaview Tower a glance.
Claire bit her lip slightly.
Old Mrs. Yeats scoffed coldly. "Everyone knows that the Aethel Group and Estelle go way back. Don’t take it to heart, Claire. She just dragged Aethel in to save face for her!"
But what followed shocked them. More and more luxury cars arrived. Numerous young masters and ladies from wealthy families filed into Tidal Pavilion, as if they had all coordinated their arrival...
In stark contrast, no one came to present gifts to Claire!
Among the arrivals was a guest from Capital City. This young master was the second son of the Churchill family. He frequently interacted with the Yeats family and was personally acquainted with Claire.
When Claire saw him, she assumed he was there to celebrate her birthday.
To her disbelief, he walked straight into Tidal Pavilion without even turning his head!
Tears welled up in Claire’s eyes. "Young Mr. Churchill too... Grandma, is Estelle so angry with me that she found a way to make my own friends publicly embarrass me?"
Old Mrs. Yeats was furious. "I know what’s going on. It’s Quentin!
"I told you Quentin isn’t fit to be the Young Master! He doesn’t even listen to me or give me any face. Becoming the Young Master has only inflated his ego!
"He knows full well that we’re at Seaview Tower, yet he brought his friends over to boost Estelle’s event and deliberately humiliate you. How did I end up with a grandson like him?!"
Even though Quentin was also her biological grandson, she simply loathed him!
