Mom's Back. The Villain Triplets Are in Trouble.
Chapter 35: Something’s Wrong with This Person
Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Something’s Wrong with This Person
Since they had all agreed to eat together, they decided to go on the helicopter tour together as well.
"I’m going to go back and check on Lin Tian first. She can’t have come all this way for nothing."
On the surface, Lin Xian and his sister Lin Tian seemed to always be at odds, but deep down, he was very concerned about her. They were siblings, after all. A helicopter ride required no physical effort and wasn’t dangerous—it was pure enjoyment.
If Lin Tian’s fever had broken, she could absolutely join them.
Gu Qingyin and Huo Xinghai went back with him. The three of them chatted as they walked, and they found they had a surprising amount to talk about.
Lin Xian was also a big fan of sports, with a particular passion for extreme sports, so he and Huo Xinghai hit it off immediately. The more they talked during the short walk, the more animated their conversation became. Soon, they were calling each other brothers and even making plans to hang out in the future.
Gu Qingyin listened from the side, her eyes shining with excitement. Skydiving, hang gliding, bungee jumping, outdoor rock climbing... ’It all sounds so fun!’
The two men didn’t stop their enthusiastic chat until they reached the beach where Lin Tian was resting, and even then, they ended it reluctantly.
But when they looked under the beach umbrella, no one was there!
"Where’s Lin Tian?" Lin Xian’s heart lurched. "Is her fever worse? Did she go back to the villa or to the hospital?"
The director shook his head and pointed toward the sea. The others followed his gaze.
On the white sand, a figure completely bundled up was bent over, searching for something. Every so often, they would kick at the sand with their feet. Despite the broad daylight, there was something distinctly furtive about them.
Gu Qingyin observed her for a moment and nodded to herself. ’Good, she knows to get out in the sun. The Yin Qi has almost completely dissipated.’
Lin Xian, on the other hand, frowned, his tone tense. "What is she doing? Is she well enough to be walking barefoot in the water?"
The director raised his bullhorn. "We checked her temperature. Her fever’s gone. Lin Tian insisted on going over there."
The viewers in the livestream chat could also attest to this.
[Lin Tian really doesn’t fake being sick. The moment she’s better, she can’t sit still.]
[She’s a celebrity, for crying out loud. All bundled up like that, how is she any different from me when I ride my e-bike to work?]
[What happened to her being an observer? I was still waiting to hear Lin Tian’s commentary.]
[Forget it, she was on the lounge chair for less than ten minutes!]
The bullhorn was loud. Lin Tian, engrossed in her search for seashells, turned and finally spotted the returning trio.
Lin Tian ran back over, and a RATTLE RATTLE sound was heard as she approached.
The trio glanced down. The two pockets of Lin Tian’s sun shirt were bulging, stuffed as full as they could be.
Seeing that everyone was staring at her pockets, Lin Tian said generously, "I collected a lot of pretty seashells. When we get back, I’ll give you some. They look really nice in flowerpots or fish tanks."
"You’re all better?" Lin Xian stepped forward to feel her forehead. It was cool to the touch. He was relieved, but also couldn’t help but feel a flicker of disgust as his hand came away sweaty.
He raised his hand and wiped it on Lin Tian’s clothes. Lin Tian looked horrified and backed away. "You’re so gross! How could you do something like that to a little fairy!"
Lin Xian gave a wicked grin. "Grossed out by your own sweat? Don’t you always say a fairy’s sweat is fragrant? Come on! See for yourself how fragrant it is." As he spoke, he feigned reaching out to make her smell his hand.
Horrified, Lin Tian stumbled back a few steps, then turned and fled.
Lin Xian only pretended to chase her for a couple of steps before stopping, his face lit up with a triumphant, mischievous smile.
The livestream audience was dying of laughter.
[My silly Tian Tian, if only you had looked back!]
[Good sister, bad brother!]
[We can tell you two are close. You don’t have to keep showing it off.]
[Only children are fiercely envious right now.]
[Seriously? She’s grossed out by her own sweat? Is she trying to build a ’germaphobe’ persona?]
[So dramatic.]
[Hey, people up there, if you don’t like it you can leave. This is the Lin Family Siblings’ dedicated stream, FYI!]
Watching Lin Tian run off into the distance, Lin Xian couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Beside him, Gu Qingyin and Huo Xinghai also found it hard to stifle their laughter.
Lin Tian sensed something was wrong and looked back. Lin Xian had barely moved from his spot. Furious, she yelled, "Lin Xian!!" Her "little fairy" persona shattered into a million pieces.
Gu Qingyin watched, a smile filling her eyes. ’Having a daughter might be nice,’ she thought. ’Getting teased by her brothers when there’s no trouble, but protected by them when there is. Especially in our family, with three older brothers... being the little sister must be wonderful.’
Too bad...
The tall, slender figure of Huo Jingyun surfaced in Gu Qingyin’s mind—his handsome face, his chilly expression. She was surprised at how clearly she could recall his features, especially since she tended to be a little face-blind.
By the time the group of four returned from their helicopter tour of the island, Fu Zimo and his mother had also just come back.
Huo Xinghai smiled and nodded politely at Fu Zimo and his mother. Lin Xian, standing next to him, also offered a friendly smile—he had been too busy with the activities to pay attention to anyone else and had no idea what the Fu mother and son had just experienced.
Fu Zimo paid Lin Xian no mind—he was just a nobody. All of his attention was fixed on Huo Xinghai. The sight of his smile instantly reminded Fu Zimo of the earlier incident, and he seethed with humiliation and anger. ’That hypocrite, Huo Xinghai. He’s definitely laughing at me in his head!’
Gu Qingyin’s gaze, however, fell on Mrs. Fu. She sized her up with suspicion. ’Why is the Evil Qi on her getting so much denser?’
Mrs. Fu noticed her gaze and subconsciously looked up, but she quickly averted her eyes the moment they met Gu Qingyin’s, as if she were a little afraid.
Gu Qingyin narrowed her eyes. ’Something’s not right with this woman.’
"Our activity time is now over," the director announced into his bullhorn, cuing the next part of the schedule. "After tallying the results, Huo Xinghai and Gu Qingyin participated in five activities, Lin Xian and Lin Tian participated in four, and Fu Zimo and Feng Xia participated in two."
At the mention of Feng Xia’s name, the other guests paused for a second before it clicked that this was Fu Zimo’s mother.
It was strange. The woman was clearly trying to be high-profile, yet she had such a weak presence that none of them had managed to remember her name.
"Now, will all our guests please make their way to the restaurant and enjoy your seafood feast!"
The restaurant was just across from the beach, allowing one to enjoy the ocean view while eating seafood. Once the guests were seated, the director rattled off a dozen or so dish names in one breath.
Gu Qingyin, Huo Xinghai, and the Lin Family Siblings gathered together to discuss which dishes to order. With no pictures available, they could only guess based on the ingredients listed in the dish names.
Fu Zimo and Feng Xia had only completed the basic activity requirements, so they didn’t have the right to order and could only eat the basic set meal provided by the production team.
Before they had even finished ordering, the basic set meal arrived: seafood fried rice and a very generously portioned bowl of seaweed soup.
Gu Qingyin glanced over, and her eyelid immediately twitched.
The fried rice looked normal enough, but the soup... It was no exaggeration to say that at first glance, it looked like a bowl of hair floating in water!
She quickly turned her head back and said, "We don’t want that specialty seaweed soup!"
Fu Zimo’s expression darkened instantly. His plate of fried rice looked especially pathetic as their grand feast began to arrive, dish after dish.
They were clearly sitting in the same restaurant, but what they were eating was worlds apart.
Both Fu Zimo and Feng Xia found it hard to stomach their meal. To make matters worse, the people at the neighboring table were completely unabashed, showing no intention of inviting them to share.
The livestream comments on this scene were polarized.
Some accused Huo Xinghai and Lin Tian of being poor sports, while others argued that Feng Xia got what she deserved. The latter group also attacked viewers who demanded they share, calling them sore losers with no sense of competition.
Regardless of what anyone else said, Gu Qingyin was enjoying her meal. She also took the opportunity to check on Feng Xia’s condition.
How to put it... the result was somewhat unexpected.
