Chapter 1804: Chapter 463: Ironfire Awakens, Ash Reborn

With the future direction clear, Tu Hu was no longer confused.

Every day he immersed himself in the ocean of knowledge, constantly absorbing it.

He didn’t aim too high; he chose the most basic content, all knowledge that the Downspirit Clan currently needed.

After initially mastering the relevant knowledge, Tu Hu’s first lesson was: smelting weapons.

The Downspirit Clan had long since mastered making Stone Spear Bone Blades, but what he brought to them was the concept of Metal.

While teaching this part of the knowledge, Tu Hu himself was also learning through practice.

Turning knowledge into something tangible is, by its nature, a process that requires groping forward.

He started with identifying minerals, then on the clan land of the Downspirit Clan, led the people to stack up the first simple high?temperature?resistant earthen Melting Furnace.

As for Tu Hu’s decision, Ah Lann and the others felt very puzzled, yet they all chose to support him.

They all offered help from every angle.

Ah Lann was the first to act. Although it didn’t understand what use there was in "burning stones" as Tu Hu said, it believed in Tu Hu.

It personally selected a group of warriors, and according to Tu Hu’s instructions, went to the riverbed to haul sticky river mud, and to quarry refractory stones that could withstand high temperatures.

Whenever some young Downspirits showed slackness toward this kind of labor they couldn’t understand, Ah Lann would use a stern gaze to urge them on.

Ah Fen would also, during gathering runs, lead her team in searching everywhere for the stones Tu Hu had described.

Each time they tried to bring back as many samples as possible for Tu Hu to screen.

Ah Lü, on the other hand, replanned the daily work schedule, allocating people to build the Melting Furnace and collect fuel, ensuring this "strange" project wouldn’t affect daily Hunting and guarding.

It even planned out a plot of land in advance, specifically for piling up those ores that other clansmen saw as waste.

The entire clan was running on the trust they placed in Tu Hu.

They didn’t understand, but they were willing to work for the "sharper weapons" Tu Hu spoke of.

When the first Dark Red piece of Metal was refined from the furnace fire and, under repeated hammering, became a copper Short Blade gleaming with cold light, all the watching Downspirits gasped in disbelief.

Ah Lann took this somewhat coarse Short Blade and swung it at a hardwood stake used for training.

Accompanied by a dull thud different from the impact sound of Stone Blades, a clear, deep cut mark was left on the stake.

Although the toughness of the Short Blade was still insufficient, unable to match the hardness of the bones of certain top prey,

all doubts at that moment vanished like smoke.

All members of the Downspirit Clan had witnessed with their own eyes the process of forging stone, and realized that the future "sharper weapons" Tu Hu spoke of could indeed be achieved.

Hope transformed into surging drive.

After this, forging technology iterated rapidly.

Following the knowledge in the Illusion Realm Library, Tu Hu guided the Downspirits to improve the bellows method to raise furnace temperatures, experiment with different ore ratios, and optimize hammering and quenching procedures.

The quality of the weapons rose steadily.

Impurities in Metal weapons were constantly reduced, making them tougher and sharper.

From the earliest Short Blades that easily rolled their edges, they gradually developed more Solid Metal spearheads, as well as metal axes capable of cutting through tough Beast Skin.

The upgrade in weapons brought immediate results.

The casualty rate of the Hunting Team dropped significantly.

When facing prey with thick hide and flesh, Metal Spears could pierce vital points more effectively.

When processing prey, metal axes were far more efficient than Stone Axes and Bone Knives.

The importance of technique began to sprout in the hearts of the clan.

They had watched with their own eyes as, under the forging of wisdom and flame, stone shed its old form and became powerful weapons.

This experience of personally opening up the future invigorated the entire clan’s spirit.

While continuing the weapon upgrades, Tu Hu also began the second transformation: farming and home construction.

Sharp weapons can fend off external enemies, but full granaries and safe homes are the true foundation for a clan’s reproduction and growth.

What Tu Hu introduced was the systematic knowledge of crop rotation and seed selection from the Illusion Realm Library.

He first sought Ah Fen to learn in detail the growth habits of all kinds of edible plants in the Black Thorn Forest.

Then he marked out dedicated ridges in the Spring Basin, instructing members of the Downspirit Clan how to plant different crops alternately according to soil conditions to maintain fertility, and how to select plump seeds for cultivation.

Having long been used to gathering, the Downspirits felt unfamiliar and even anxious about this way of "staying with a plot of land and waiting for harvest."

But when the first season’s crops, under careful tending, yielded far more than what they could gather by searching the mountains, all their doubts turned into amazement.

Ah Fen became completely obsessed with this new Skill. The focus of her gathering team gradually shifted to caring for crops and trial?planting new varieties.

Meanwhile, another project was being carried out in parallel.

Based on the materials in the Illusion Realm Library, Tu Hu led the Downspirits in digging simple diversion channels and reservoirs.

When clear spring water flowed along the man?made channels into the fields, and the large reservoir still guaranteed drinking water in times of drought, the Downspirit Clan for the first time realized partial control over their water source, breaking free from the passive situation of relying entirely on nature.

But Tu Hu’s plan went far beyond this.

A safe home also needs a Solid Shield.

He turned his gaze to defense construction on the clan land.

He had all the original thorns hedges torn down, replacing them with stout logs deeply buried in the ground and joined into wooden walls.

The sharpened wooden spikes at the top of the wall pointed outward at an angle, and walkways for warriors to patrol and shoot were built along the inner side of the wall.

With Ah Lann’s full cooperation, Tu Hu even kept extending the defense perimeter outward.
