Even under the onslaught of the storm, these great swathes of rising Spiritual Fire burned brightly, like luminous orbs of flame steadily ascending from the ground.

Before the afterimages of his strikes had even faded, Su Zhou had decimated the attacking horde of Resentful Spirits, leaving only a scattered few behind.

Simultaneously, hundreds, even thousands, more Resentful Souls materialized from nowhere and joined the assault.

Dozens of Resentful Souls led the charge, wreathed in black smoke and spectral claws. But not only did these twisted Undead phantoms fail to leave so much as a scratch on his Dragon Scales, the instant they made contact, they were ensnared as if in a bog. They were dragged in completely, then converted and absorbed, before being expelled as jets of chaotic Spiritual Qi from the grooves between the scales.
