Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 547 - 27: Are You Saying I’m Mentally Unhealthy?

  • Next Chapter

In an instant, the foreign researchers from the American Federation, the European Union, and Ross Country who were stationed at the fortress all received secret transmissions from their respective superiors. They were ordered to analyze Su Zhou’s true combat strength, the essence of his bloodline, and his related fighting style as quickly as possible.

But, to be frank, how was that even possible?

"This... what the hell is there to analyze?!"

A researcher from the European Union was on the verge of a breakdown. He stared at the screen, at the two dragon claws that had just torn a Divine Toad to shreds with sheer physical strength—a Divine Toad capable of disrupting Primordial Qi to create a one-sided Magic Ban. His mind was a complete mess. "It’s basically all one-hit kills! One punch to blow them up, one swipe of his claws to tear them apart! How are we supposed to analyze any of this?!"

"At least give us a few more close-ups!"

Meanwhile, the American Federation’s researchers were praying silently, hoping to glean some information from Su Zhou’s movements on screen—like the muscle density and structure of his True Body... But since the camera was embedded in one of his scales, all they could see were two of Su Zhou’s fingers moving back and forth. They couldn’t analyze a single thing.

’We still have to write a report... What is there to even report on?’

The researchers from Ross Country were even more desperate. Their leader had given them a direct order: they had to produce a rough estimate of Su Zhou’s strength, as it would affect future negotiations between Ross Country and Zhengguo. After all, with Su Zhou’s power, he could completely ignore any conventional military equipment short of being carpet-bombed by nuclear weapons. Even if they were to encircle him with Transcendents, judging by the current battle, they probably wouldn’t stand a chance until their top leaders had all collectively advanced to the Commander level.

But, again, how could they possibly analyze that? All they knew was that Su Zhou threw a punch and a beast on the other side ceased to exist. They knew almost nothing else!

Watching from the rear, Li Hanshan had seen the entire battle from afar using his Chongming Bird’s powerful vision. As he typed out a live play-by-play for his squad members, he couldn’t help but sigh in his heart. ’My god... I can’t get any material from this. After all, I’m writing a school-life story, not an overpowered-protagonist one...’

’There’s no way I can use this in my novel!’

The atmosphere in the Beast God Realm frontline fortress grew a little strange. This was especially true for those who had been so nervous and worried for Su Zhou earlier. Now, they felt both relieved and a little awkward.

The other Holy Seats of Zhengguo, having learned of the urgent situation from the Daoist Saint and Life Saint, were now sending messages one after another to ask about the situation. The replies they received were all baffling, along the lines of ’It’s fine now, it’s all over.’

At that moment, the screen was playing a clip of the Divine Bird Ghost Car, screeching angry and terrified questions right before being caught by Su Zhou. To be honest, almost none of the humans present paid any mind to its questions. It wasn’t out of arrogance, but because the Ghost Car’s words were so utterly one-sided. Letting it go wasn’t out of the question, but it showed not a shred of sincerity about cooperating. How could anyone possibly stop?

But then, Su Zhou’s next words left everyone stunned.

"I’m hungry."

The great dragon’s voice was so cold and merciless that anyone hearing it for the first time would subconsciously place its owner on their list of ’extremely dangerous individuals who must never be provoked.’

And his next action made everyone from the various nations present suck in a cold breath.

Because on the camera feed, they could see two of the three-headed Divine Bird’s heads being crushed by incredibly sturdy dragon claws. The central head, its face a mask of despair and terror, was struggling as it was brought closer to a region just above the camera’s view.

In the reflection of the Divine Bird’s massive pupils, they could see it: a place filled with snow-white fangs and crimson flesh...

CRUNCH.

Immediately after, the crimson of fresh blood and the loud sound of chewing filled the entire screen.

CLICK.

The screen was turned off.

But a wordless silence still filled the fortress.

Everyone’s gazes, a mixture of disbelief and strange admiration, focused on the Daoist Saint and the others.

’Could that have been an order from the Daoist Saint himself?’

’Incredible. A shock like that, and the Divine Beasts and Spirit Beasts of the Beast God Realm probably won’t dare to oppose humanity anymore, right?’

’To just start eating it so directly... that’s really not something an ordinary human could do... Should I say "as expected of Su Zhou"? Or should I be terrified or something...’

’That thing... even if it’s an enemy, it’s still a sentient being... By just eating it, what’s the difference between Su Zhou and these Divine Beasts?!’

Although being no different from them was precisely Su Zhou’s goal, people’s thoughts were naturally varied.

Some members of the action team, who knew how cruel the Divine Beasts of the Beast God Realm were, felt a sense of satisfaction. Meanwhile, some Cultivators from the European Union were conflicted, unsure whether they should condemn Su Zhou for eating a sentient being alive or praise him for his decisive action that intimidated all the Beast God Realm forces present.

But no matter what they thought, one idea in their hearts was identical.

’This guy is terrifying!’

"Waaaah... The Peacock was right, humans really do eat anything! They’re brutal creatures, even scarier than the Taotie..."

As for Jin Qiong, she was so frightened that her legs had given out, and she had plopped onto the floor. As a Divine Bird herself, the poor, empathetic Miss Jin went completely limp, a total mess. She now felt a chill on her neck, and phantom pains pulsed from it.
