Monsters Die When Killed

Chapter 633 - 4: Returning to the Divine Wood World

"You know, my vision and my control over my power have reached the microscopic level. When I observe with Full Concentration using my Commander Level power, I can see details down to the nanoscale."

Su Zhou extended his hands, and a cyan-blue electric current sparked to life in his palms. Barehanded, he used the Thunder Light to micro-carve small Runes onto the drone while the Celestial God Seal floated before him. "But this thing, even from my nanoscopic perspective, is just a seamless expanse of silver-white—so fine that there isn’t a single gap."

"And the face of the Celestial God Seal is a perfect circle—one hundred percent, without the slightest deviation."

Soon, after Su Zhou engraved a few more Runes on it, the drone flew back into Shao Qiming’s hands. "Do you understand? The Celestial God Seal is no ordinary object. The Space-Time Sect it opens is on a completely different level from one an Immortal God could open. Theoretically, different time flows are a massive trap, something akin to the event horizon of a Black Hole. The Divine Wood World and our world should be unable to observe each other until the End of the Cosmos. We exist outside each other’s observable range, but the Celestial God Seal can connect these two worlds. It can even make an Otherworld’s time flow sync up with Earth’s."

"When I left, the Divine Wood World’s time flow might have been fifty times faster, but by now, it’s probably close to 1:1, right? The Reincarnation World is the same. But in that place, the Silent Lord’s power is very strong, so I’m not sure if the Celestial God Seal can adjust it. Still, it wouldn’t be surprising if it could."

At this, Su Zhou even chuckled, though there was little mirth in the sound. "Without the Celestial God Seal, trying to cross the time trap—to traverse different time flows and connect two worlds—would be like forcibly halting a speeding cosmos. The energy required would far exceed the total energy contained within that cosmos itself. And if some being could pull off something that outrageous, would we really need to worry about them invading us?"

Su Zhou’s point was simple and clear: right now, only the Celestial God Seal could cross the flow of time. If any civilization could manage it, they wouldn’t need to worry about an invasion. A whale doesn’t invade a petri dish of bacteria. In the face of such beings, none of humanity’s thoughts or plans would matter.

And because of the connection from the Celestial God Scale, the Divine Wood World’s time flow was gradually synchronizing with the Earth World’s. At least, as long as the cyan mark representing the Divine Wood World still existed on the Celestial God Scale, this would be the case.

Su Zhou himself guessed that once the Celestial God Seal was filled with the marks representing every Great Being, the time flows of all worlds would achieve Unity, and the frozen Void would thaw... But what consequences would that bring?

Su Zhou didn’t know, and Yara had never said.

Even after all that, Shao Qiming noticed Su Zhou still hadn’t addressed one possibility. "But what if someone steals the Celestial God Seal from you?"

"This thing is in my Personal Space. For someone to forcibly take something from my Personal Space, they’d have to be at least a Celestial Venerable..."

Su Zhou rolled his eyes at his friend’s needless worrying and said, exasperated, "In this day and age, no one can keep up with my rate of progress. Once I reach the Overlord Tier, not even a Celestial Venerable could grab me so easily. If things go south, I can just bolt immediately."

"Instead of worrying about me—someone so powerful yet cautious—you should be worrying about whether humanity will start a Fourth World War and wipe itself out during this Spiritual Energy Revival."

"...That’s true. After all, if you insist on everything being perfectly safe, you could still get killed by a meteorite while sitting at home..."

In truth, Shao Qiming wasn’t completely convinced by Su Zhou. But talking, in the end, wouldn’t settle anything. Rather than agonizing over it here, it was better to just go to the Divine Wood World and see for himself.

Only by actually going to the Otherworld could he determine if his reasoning was sound.

"How about it? You really do have to see it for yourself, don’t you?"

Seeing that he knew what his friend was thinking, Su Zhou asked with a smile, "Barring any mishaps, a round trip should take less than a second. You don’t need to think about any follow-up plans. We can go as soon as you’re ready."

Shao Qiming, who was checking the equipment in his pack, shrugged. "I’m more or less packed. We can go now. So, shall we?"

"Let’s go."

Yara remained silent throughout the two young men’s conversation.

Only when Su Zhou picked up the Celestial God Seal and began to infuse his own Spiritual Power into the silver-white Pocket Watch did it raise its head and look at the silver-white watch face.

The former ’Celestial God’ gazed at the Celestial God Seal...

One could see that as Su Zhou’s Spiritual Power poured into the cyan-green mark on the Celestial God Seal, colorless ripples began to spread through spacetime.

A silver radiance flared—

[——World Core Element · Celestial Wood——]

[——Erosion Deviation Value: 3.19%——]

[——High-Stability Independent World——]

A round, cyan, crystalline orb of spacetime light appeared in the center of the Shao Family’s Old Mansion. Through it, one could faintly see thick, swirling goose-feather snow.

"Going in."

Without any hesitation, Su Zhou reached out and touched it.

"It’s so beautiful..."

And Shao Qiming, after a brief moment of awe, also touched the glowing sphere.

Immediately after, as Su Zhou mobilized his Spiritual Power, a silver curtain of light swept over them. The two felt their bodies lighten, disappearing from the room in an instant.

「Divine Wood World.」

A silver curtain of light unfurled and dissipated, and two figures appeared, a kilometer high in the sky.

"Huh? Why are we high in the sky again?"

Su Zhou’s surprised voice could be heard. "And this is way higher than last time, isn’t it?"

From a kilometer high, an ordinary Awakener would plummet to their death if they weren’t careful.

With that thought, he gathered his power, activated his Gale Shield, and prepared to grab his friend to fly with him.

But Su Zhou then saw Shao Qiming calmly activate the jetpack on his back. A steady stream of air immediately stabilized him in midair, rivaling a Flying Technique.

"You said last time that when you came to the Divine Wood World, you fell from the sky, so I took that into consideration."

Shao Qiming, who had long since made thorough preparations, smiled and patted the logo on his jetpack. "I even prepared tools for digging our way out from underground. Of course, if we get deep into a magma layer, that’s beyond me. I’ll have to rely on you for that."

"You always think of everything."

With a laugh, after confirming there was no danger, Su Zhou couldn’t be bothered to descend slowly. He directly deactivated his Gale Shield and let himself free-fall, plunging towards the vast mountain forest below.

Just before he was about to hit the ground, Su Zhou used his Spiritual Power to cancel the impact and, as if he had no inertia at all, landed steadily on the earth.

"A familiar sight."

During that brief fall, he had already scanned the surrounding terrain and situation, pulling information from his memory banks. A nostalgic look crossed Su Zhou’s face. "I can’t believe it’s this place again."

"What place again?"

Using his jetpack, Shao Qiming slowly descended, landing on the ground as well.

Hearing what Su Zhou said, he couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity.

"Taibai Volcano."

Lifting his head to look at the towering mountain peak in the distance and the snowflakes drifting across the sky, Su Zhou’s lips curved up slightly. "In other words, the place where I first arrived in the Divine Wood World."

"It seems I really do have a special connection with this place."

Having said that, Su Zhou had originally intended to head straight to the summit of Taibai Volcano to check out the old spot and get a bird’s-eye view of the surroundings.

However, just as he was about to set off with Shao Qiming, who had already taken out a camera and started photographing the details of the surrounding trees, Su Zhou stopped in his tracks and blinked.

Because, from several kilometers away, he heard the noisy chatter of human voices.

The sound waves traveled through the heavy snow.

"...Cloud Travel Group at the Divine Blade Memorial Zone in the Taibai Mountain Area, please assemble! Free time is over. Everyone, please come to the rest area and gather up!"

"I repeat, Cloud Travel Group at the Divine Blade Memorial Zone in the Taibai Mountain Area, please assemble. Our next tour stop is the ’Sword Casting Museum’!"
