Monsters Die When Killed
Chapter 636 5: A Visit to the Museum
But Su Zhou was a different matter. He was so flawlessly handsome that the sculptors—who had never seen him with their own eyes and had to rely on details retold by others—could only work from imagination. Disappointingly, even their imagined versions weren't as handsome as Su Zhou himself.
Behind the Blade of Annihilation stele and the cluster of statues was the Sword Casting Museum. Su Zhou had been thinking that if the museum charged for admission, he would probably have to sneak in. 'Pay to see my own museum? What a joke! I should be the one charging everyone else!'
But the museum was, in fact, free, so the two of them swaggered right in.
"—It all happened in a flash! When the Kunlun Abnormal saw the Demon Dynasty State Preceptor summon Celestial Thunder, he flickered behind a Demon General. With a single wave of his hand, he threw the eight-foot-tall Demon General into the air as if he were a child, sending him flying straight into the path of the Celestial Thunder…"
"According to the firsthand accounts of those present, in that era when Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi was scarce, the Demon Dynasty State Preceptor, as a Postnatal Martial Artist, could already trigger Celestial Thunder and display Innate Power. Had he been given a few more years to advance to the Innate realm, no one would have been able to stop him. Fortunately, with the help of the elite Martial Artists of the Hundred Schools, led by Grandmaster Li and Chairman Zhou, the Kunlun Martial Saint killed the Demon Dynasty State Preceptor at a volcano—everyone, follow me. The memorial for the Demon Dynasty State Preceptor's demise is just ahead. Little ones, please don't wander off…"
"Legend has it that the Kunlun Martial Saint's appearance was exceptionally mysterious. It was on a day when snow filled the air…"
As soon as they entered the museum, a clamorous wave of voices washed over them. There were storytellers, tour guides, and dedicated presenters at various exhibits. Su Zhou looked around and saw weapon relics, which had clearly been buried for a very long time, and the wreckage of True Qi Furnaces, all preserved in glass cases.
Over there, a female guide was explaining to a group of what looked like elementary school students on a class trip, "Everyone, look here—this is the first-generation True Qi Furnace! Back then, the pioneers of True Qi technology, the two Grandmasters Shi Jiling and Mo Ganxiu, used this as the power source to forge the 'Divine Blade,' the Blade of Annihilation that slayed the Anx Dynasty Demon Emperor!"
"Ooooh!" At once, the children cheered, waving inflatable toy knives that were likely souvenirs from the museum.
The golden-red blades flashed, a vibrant splash of color.
In that moment, even though the Blade of Annihilation remained within Su Zhou's Personal Space, he could faintly sense a trickle of Desire Power crossing time and space to attach itself to the Divine Blade. It was as if the children's sincere admiration, combined with all the Desire Power that had accumulated in the museum over the years, had finally found an outlet. A slow, yet unstoppable, current began to pour into the true Blade of Annihilation.
And the body of the Divine Blade began to shimmer with a crystalline glow.
'Shi Jiling… So that was the Grand Master's name?'
But at that moment, Su Zhou paid this no mind. He felt a pang of shame upon hearing the name. He had spent so much time with the man back then, always just calling him Grand Master, and had completely forgotten to ask his name. Only now, at least a hundred years later, was he learning it in a museum. But then, this sort of thing happened often.
Su Zhou and Shao Qiming wandered through the museum. Su Zhou reminisced about the old days, while Shao Qiming eagerly recorded every story related to him, including the wildly exaggerated versions from the storytellers. Even someone as shameless as Su Zhou felt a flicker of embarrassment and demanded Shao Qiming delete them, but his companion simply replied, "But I refuse!"
And through what they saw and heard in the museum, the two of them got a general idea of how history had developed in the Divine Wood World after Su Zhou left.
