Chapter 640: Chapter 7: Encounter

The pure-white Flying Airship took off again just as quickly as it had landed. With a flash of Spiritual Light, it ascended to an altitude of several thousand meters and began to accelerate.

Taibai Mountain and the hot spring resort behind them vanished into the snow and mist, leaving only a vast expanse of white.

Su Zhou and Shao Qiming took their seats inside, but the agents from the Demon Suppression Bureau all remained standing, ready to deploy at a moment’s notice.

“We need to be able to conduct airborne operations at a moment’s notice. These seats are usually for transporting the wounded.”

In response to Su Zhou’s question about why they weren’t sitting, the captain explained, “Our enemies are typically located in the outskirts or in mountainous regions with extremely complex terrain, where a Flying Airship often can’t land. The kind of enemies that require the Demon Suppression Bureau’s intervention usually mean every second counts.”

“Separatists and the Undying Sect?”

Shao Qiming asked. The lead agent nodded. “Generally, yes. But occasionally we also deal with ordinary, vicious criminals, or True Qi-enhanced individuals who cut corners and used improper methods to break through. Not everyone can advance to the Innate Realm, and there will always be those who want to take a heretical path.”

The Demon Suppression Bureau’s Flying Airship was remarkably stable and fast. Su Zhou briefly scanned it, determining its speed was approaching 300 meters per second. In terms of technology and material science, it was probably on par with the Earth World of sixty years ago.

Through their conversation, Su Zhou and Shao Qiming also learned about the current state of the Tianzheng Alliance.

The Tianzheng Alliance currently enjoyed an era of peace and prosperity. It had no external enemies and few internal threats. The so-called separatists were just a small group of elites from local powers that had been absorbed into the Alliance. They plotted subversive attacks, hoping to restore their former rule. As for the Undying Sect, they were merely the remnants of the Demon Dynasty and their successors, scattered to the corners of the world and not yet fully eradicated.

At first, they were just some Demon Soldiers who had escaped annihilation. They lacked the Talent for Cultivation and struggled to advance further, despite their immortality. So, these Demon Soldiers passed their Undying Roots to their children or chosen successors, allowing their own memories and Souls to merge with the new hosts. Through the Undying Root, they passed down their experience and knowledge from generation to generation, continually swapping into more talented bodies.

Today, the Undying Sect’s core consists of a mere eleven members, but most are Innate Martial Saints. After a century of the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi’s resurgence, the individual strength of each member likely far surpasses that of the Demon Emperor of old.

Theoretically, in a world without Extraordinary Power, such a small armed group would be swiftly eliminated. However, in a world that *has* Extraordinary Power, strength and numbers are not directly proportional. The destruction they can cause is immense, and the Demon Suppression Bureau is the armed mobile force tasked with handling these remnants and other high-level extraordinary crimes.

“It’s hard to imagine that the Bureau Chief himself gave the order this time.”

Inside the Flying Airship’s cockpit, separated from the transport cabin, two pilots were chatting in tones of respect and surprise. “Ever since the Bureau Chief stepped down from his position as chairman, he has barely managed anything besides making a few high-level decisions. I thought the founding elders of the Alliance were all focused on their Cultivation, trying to break through to the Human God Heaven Realm. I never expected them to still be paying attention to the outside world.”

“Who knows? And from the sound of it, that guy who looks so young is probably an old friend of the Bureau Chief and the others—an elder who’s at least one or two hundred years old… Don’t be fooled by his looks. His strength is so profound that even an Inner Power Detector can’t read it!”

The co-pilot, who was monitoring flight data and the airship’s route, nodded with a look of anticipation. “The Rejuvenation that comes with the Innate Realm is truly miraculous. It looks like after this mission, I should find a chance to go into seclusion and try to break through to the Innate Realm myself.”

The journey from Taibai Mountain to the seaport in Liaozhou didn’t take long. Soon, the clouds and mist began to dissipate, revealing an even more enormous aerial platform high in the sky ahead of the pure-white Flying Airship.

A massive, lotus-shaped steel disk—an aerial Fortress with a radius of over 550 meters—floated slowly at an altitude of about 4,000 meters. The Demon Suppression Bureau’s Flying Battleship approached the aerial Fortress and landed on it.

“We’ve arrived. This is the Alliance’s Central Flying Harbor for the northeastern region.”

Stepping out of the Flying Airship, the Demon Suppression Bureau’s captain led Su Zhou and Shao Qiming toward the Fortress’s entrance. Even for two people from Earth, they couldn’t help but marvel at the colossal aerial creation.

“A massive aerial creation like this must be sustained by a solidified Floating Technique, powered by a Spirit Vein, right?”

Shao Qiming released a drone from his pack again. He observed the seemingly empty air around them, then nodded in understanding. “Just as I thought. This is an estuary where the land’s Spiritual Qi and the ocean’s Spiritual Qi collide. Two Spirit Veins are clashing, and the rising Spiritual Qi has formed a third Spirit Vein in the sky. This aerial platform is built right on top of that aerial Spirit Vein. The design is truly ingenious.”

Su Zhou, who knew more about Earth’s secrets, nodded slightly. He used his Soul to communicate with Shao Qiming so the nearby Demon Suppression Bureau captain couldn’t hear him. “Yes, it’s quite impressive. In fact, Earth has already located the Balance Point where Earth’s Spiritual Qi and cosmic Spiritual Qi clash, and they’ve built numerous Spirit Vein space stations there. Theoretically, the messages I sent after landing on the moon had to be relayed through them to get back to Earth.”

“Even though the technology is the same, and Earth’s is probably a bit more advanced, this aerial Fortress looks like it’s been operational for at least a few decades. The experience and data it has accumulated are incredibly valuable. Every world is truly a treasure trove.”
