The sun shone brightly. The four members of the Grant family were already on a plane.

Their honeymoon destination was the world-famous resort city of Veridia.

After a six-hour flight, they finally arrived in Veridia.

A private car was waiting to pick them up after they disembarked.

About half an hour later, they finally reached the resort they had booked in Veridia.

The car slowly drove through the resort’s main gate.

When it stopped in the garage, the resort manager was already waiting by the car door.

"Welcome, Mr. Grant. We’re honored you chose the Veridia Resort for your honeymoon. A very warm welcome to you all."

Quentin Grant put on his glasses, his expression stern. "I hope our family will be satisfied. We value our freedom, so we won’t require close attention most of the time."

"Understood, understood. Mr. and Mrs. Grant, and the two little Grants, please follow me."

Nora Ainsworth put on a hat. With her two little ones by her side, she and an assistant pulling their luggage followed the manager to their lodging.

A few minutes later, the group stopped in front of a simple yet unique wooden villa.

They walked slowly up the wooden stairs. The room was truly one-of-a-kind, with windows on all four sides that let the sunlight flood the entire space.

The two boys quickly shed their clothes, changed into something more comfortable, and leaned against the windows to look at the scenery outside.

Nora changed into a bikini and walked over to her sons. "What are you looking at?"

"Mommy, we want to go swimming! Can you ask Daddy to take us? There are lots of other kids with their daddies and mommies over there."

Nora nodded. She turned to Quentin Grant and said, "The boys are dying to go for a swim after seeing everyone else. Come on, get changed so we can head over."

Quentin Grant nodded. "I’m on it."

They grabbed the swim rings and headed to the beach.

Dylan Grant put a swim ring around his small body, crouched by the water’s edge, and floated on the surface, laughing with pure joy.

Elmer Grant did the same and bumped into his brother. The two boys splashed and played happily in the water.

In the water, Quentin taught Nora how to swim. Before long, she had learned and was even pretty good at it.

Since the boys were still young, Nora swam over to them and joined in their splashing and playing.

After they had been playing for a while, a helpful reminder from Elmer made Nora realize that her husband was surrounded by a group of women.

Nora grabbed the boys’ swim rings and swam toward them.

When she got there, one of the women shoved her. "Get out of the way."

Nora smiled sweetly. "Miss, my husband is over here."

The young woman glanced around before pointing uncertainly at Quentin Grant. "He’s your husband?"

"Who else would it be?"

The woman backed away sheepishly.

"Honey~~"

Nora called out, "Honey, come over here."

Under the dumbfounded and astonished gazes of the women, the family of four happily swam away.

Swimming in the sea and sunbathing was a true pleasure, especially lying on the sand to soak up the sun after getting out of the water.

The temperature here was much lower than in Fravia. Back in Fravia, it felt like you were being fried in oil, but here, it was just pleasant sunbathing—warm and incredibly comfortable.

"Let’s go fishing," Quentin suggested.

"Okay!"

They went back to change. The family of four emerged in matching outfits, carrying fishing gear to the river behind the resort.

The river was specially stocked with all kinds of fish by the resort’s management for guests to enjoy.

Normally, no one dared to fish here, but when Quentin Grant decided to, no one dared to say a word against it.

Sitting on the bank with a bucket, Quentin repeatedly instructed his two boys, "Be careful. Don’t get too close to the edge, or you might fall in."

"We know, Daddy." Dylan brought over a small stool and sat down. He and Elmer sat side-by-side, looking quite the part as they baited their hooks and started fishing, just like Quentin.

Nora didn’t fish; she just sat there keeping them company.

Quentin quickly caught a carp.

"Whoa, it’s huge!" Dylan exclaimed. "Daddy, how did you catch it?"

Quentin raised an eyebrow. "With a hook, of course. Daddy’s caught a big one. You two better step it up."

And so, another long wait began.

Quentin caught three more fish, but the two boys still had nothing.

"Alright, boys, let’s just call it a day. You two won’t be able to catch any big fish even if you keep trying."

Elmer retorted indignantly, "Daddy, just you wait! My brother and I will catch a big fish."

Quentin scoffed and said bluntly, "Elmer, stop bragging. You two can’t even catch a small fish, let alone a big one."

Elmer grew anxious, reeling in his line again and again, failing every time. The repeated failures were starting to make him want to give up.

Only Dylan remained quiet, patiently imitating Quentin. Before long, he caught a crucian carp.

It wasn’t big, but he had caught it himself, and Dylan was thrilled.

"See, Daddy? My brother caught one!"

"What about you?"

"I... I haven’t yet."

"Elmer, you need to be calm and composed when you fish. Don’t be impatient. Fishing is all about building patience. The more anxious you get, the less likely you are to catch anything."

Hearing this, Elmer sat there quietly, copying Dylan. A short while later, he also caught a fish.

Just then, a woman in her thirties, dressed quite respectably, approached the family from behind. Nora turned around.

"I want to fish, too, but I don’t have a rod," she said with a simple-minded laugh.

Nora sensed something was off about her, but offered her own rod. "You can use mine."

The woman shook her head and pointed at Quentin. "I don’t want yours. I want his."

Nora was surprised. Quentin turned around, frowning. "Ma’am, the rods are all the same. You can just use my wife’s."

The woman in her thirties suddenly became agitated. "Your... your wife? Who is she?!"

Elmer put down his rod and stood up. "Of course it’s my mommy!"

Her eyes were dull and lifeless. "Impossible! I’m your wife!"

Everyone: "..."

"This woman might not be mentally well, Quentin. Call the person in charge here."

Quentin immediately made the call. It wasn’t long before the manager arrived. He took one look, slapped his thigh, and exclaimed, "My dear sister! What are you doing out here?"

He turned to apologize to Quentin. "I’m so sorry, Mr. Grant. My sister... she has a mental illness. She’s been on medication and was doing well. I can’t believe she’s relapsed. It looks like we’ll have to confine her again."

He started to lead the woman away, but she began to scream hysterically, "That’s my husband! My husband said he was going fishing! I want my husband!"

The manager’s face went pale. He snapped, "What nonsense are you spouting! You two, take her back!"

Security guards forcibly dragged the woman away. The manager came over, bowing and scraping. "I’m so, so sorry."

Nora asked, "How did she end up like this?"

"My brother-in-law loved to fish. Last year, shortly after he returned from a fishing trip, my sister received a phone call from another woman. The woman asked if her husband loved fishing. My sister said yes. Then, that woman claimed she was a ’mermaid’ my brother-in-law had ’caught’ and that she was pregnant with his child. That utter nonsense became the reason for their divorce. My brother-in-law threw my sister out with nothing, and she wasn’t even allowed to see her child. So... she ended up like this."

Nora was dumbfounded. "What? A mermaid? Is that the new popular excuse for mistresses these days?"
