After the mother and her two sons got ready, the captain of the Men in Black approached them. “Young Madam, the Young Master said that from now on, I am to drive you. You are no longer permitted to drive.”

“Alright. We’ll head out the main gate first. You can bring the car around.”

Hearing this, the captain immediately went to get the car. The mother and her two sons walked out the main gate, holding hands.

When the car pulled up outside, the three of them got in one by one.

The captain drove to the kindergarten entrance. After they got out, Nora Ainsworth said, “You can head back for now, Captain. Come back to pick us up when school is over.”

“Yes, Young Madam.”

Just as they entered the school gate, Dorothy Ellsworth came running over excitedly. “Auntie, can I ask you a question?”

Nora nodded and smiled. “Of course. Ask me anything you don’t understand.”

“Do we little kids grow bigger and bigger in our mommies’ tummies every day and then get born?”

“Of course,” Nora said, patting her belly. “See? Auntie has a baby in her tummy right now.”

“So, does that mean everyone with a really, really big tummy has a baby inside?”

“It depends. Some men, like grandpa-types, have potbellies. Those don’t count.”

“But Chapman, the lady who serves our food, has such a big tummy. Does she have twins in there?”

Nora was speechless. “…Sweetheart, that’s just weight gain from middle age. She’s almost sixty years old. How could she possibly have a baby in her tummy?”

“Oh, I see. Okay, Auntie, you can go to your office now. The three of us are heading to our classroom.”

“Okay.”

Truth be told, Nora didn’t come to the school every day because there was a lot of work to do. It was mainly because she’d be bored sitting at home alone anyway. At school, she could be with the children as they came and went.

As her belly grew larger, she started feeling drowsy more often.

That afternoon, when Quentin Grant left work early to pick her up from school, he found Nora fast asleep.

He didn’t wake her. Instead, he stood quietly outside the classroom, watching the children during their lesson.

When the bell rang to dismiss the class, the children swarmed out.

When the two little ones came out, they thought they were hallucinating.

“Boss, is that our daddy?”

“You idiot. Who else would it be?”

Then, the two little ones shouted in unison, “Daddy!!”

Each of them hugged one of his long legs. Quentin Grant looked down at them and asked, “What do you want to eat tonight?”

“Daddy, I want KFC,” Elmer Grant said, looking at him with pleading eyes.

“Me too.”

“Alright. Your request is granted.”

“But Mommy won’t let us…”

“No problem. We’ll just bring Mommy along.”

Just as they turned around, Nora was walking toward them.

“Quentin, what are you doing here?”

Quentin looked back. “You’re awake?”

Nora’s face flushed slightly as she nodded. “I’ve been feeling more and more tired lately.”

“Then you should rest at home for a while. Don’t come to the school.”

“I can’t do that. I’d be a little worried…”

“It’s fine. I’ll just assign more men to come.”

Nora thought for a moment. “Let’s talk about it tomorrow.”

“Come on, let’s go get something to eat.”

“Mommy, Daddy said we could get KFC.”

“Mm, Daddy’s word is his bond. It’s just a shame Monty can’t come with us.”

“…”

The family of four went happily to KFC, and after they finished eating, they all went home together.

They had just gotten home when Nora’s phone rang. It was a call from President Harding.

“Hello?”

President Harding’s cheerful voice came from the other end. “Nora, it’s me. The TV station has a proposal, and I was wondering if you would…”

“President Harding, I’m not working right now. Besides, I’m pregnant…”

President Harding’s tone remained cheerful. “Nora, I know all that. But this proposal from the TV station isn’t for you. It’s for a new show that’s about to launch, a program for fathers and their kids. The main idea is for fathers to take their children abroad to experience the life of common people in a foreign country. I already called Ethan Ellsworth. He’s busy setting up his company right now, but he made it clear that if Mr. Grant and your two little ones are willing to participate, he’ll join with his daughter too.”

Hearing this, Nora looked at Quentin. “In that case, let me ask Quentin first.”

“Alright then. Ask him, and give me a call back whether it’s a yes or a no. But Nora, I really think this show is a great idea. Experiencing the life of common people abroad… the customs, the food, it’s all different from our country. Letting a father and his kids experience that can only be a good thing.”

“Okay, but I’ll have to ask for their opinions too.”

“We’ll leave it at that for now, then. I’m hanging up.”

Nora hung up the phone and leaned against Quentin. “Quentin, that was President Harding. He said our country’s most popular TV station is planning a new show. It’s about fathers taking their kids abroad to experience the life of common people. He’s already spoken to Ethan Ellsworth, who said that if you go, he’ll go.”

Quentin sat up. “It sounds interesting, but I don’t really like the idea of exposing how I interact with my children to outsiders.”

“But I think it could be a good form of training for the two little ones.”

Quentin considered it for a moment, then said to her, “Go get the boys and bring them down. We’ll ask their opinion.”

“Okay.”

After hearing about it, the boys showed rare, unanimous support for the idea.

This was something neither Quentin nor Nora had expected.

“Why would you want to go? The conditions will be very poor, much worse than at home. And you’ll be exposed to the eyes of netizens.”

“Daddy, I think it would be great to go abroad with Dorothy and experience life there.”

“But if you want to go abroad with Dorothy, we can just go on a trip together. There’s no need to do it like this.”

“Daddy, I want to know what ‘experiencing life’ abroad would be like,” Dylan Grant asked. “If it’s beneficial for our personal growth, then I’m willing to give it a try. After all, it’s not like we haven’t experienced hardship before. Didn’t we live in that rundown apartment building in Harrowin for quite some time?”

“Exactly. You’ve already experienced it. That’s why I’m not so supportive of this kind of entertainment show,” Quentin said frankly. “If it were a program with real educational value, I’d be the one encouraging you two to participate.”

“Daddy, take us to the mountains to help the kids there. I think that’s much better than going abroad to ‘experience life’,” Elmer suggested.

Nora agreed. “That’s a great idea. But if you do go, you’ll have to wait until after Mommy has the little baby in her tummy.”

And so, the discussion ended without a resolution once again. In the end, Nora called President Harding back and explained their thoughts. President Harding found her reasoning sound and proactively suggested, “Nora, since Quentin and the kids are willing to go to the mountains for a charity event like that, how about we make a show out of it?”
