Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar
Chapter 610: Epilogue (37)
“Are our two boys getting jealous?”
Nora Ainsworth looked at him with a gentle smile. “You have to treat them equally. Don’t just dote on our daughter and ignore our sons.”
“In my heart, they’re all the same, even if you don’t believe me.” Quentin Grant stood up. “I’ve decided to leave for the shoot tomorrow. It will be for half a month. I’ll go talk to the boys about it now.”
“Quentin!” Nora Ainsworth called out. “You’re planning to shoot this charity film for half a month?”
“That’s right. I plan to donate all the money earned from this shoot to children in the mountains. Young Master Ellsworth has the same idea. We don’t lack money; we just want our kids to experience what it’s like to have none. We want to cultivate their compassion and sense of responsibility. For children, that’s what’s most important. After all, a person’s character is always far more valuable than their achievements in society.”
“I support your idea. Go on, have a good talk with the boys. They’re a year older now and have minds of their own.”
Quentin Grant nodded and went upstairs.
“Hey boys, Daddy’s here.” Pushing open the door, Quentin Grant greeted them cheerfully.
But his two sons were clearly ignoring him.
They sat on the bed, minding their own business.
“Boys, tomorrow we’re going to the mountains. Are you excited?”
Dylan Grant looked up. “Really, Daddy?”
Only then did Quentin Grant walk in, saying with a grin, “Of course. Would I lie about that?”
“That’s great!” Elmer Grant got excited too. “What time are we leaving tomorrow?”
“After breakfast. So, you two can start packing your bags now.”
“Okay.” Dylan Grant hopped off the bed, opened the wardrobe, and was the first to pull out his suitcase, packing the clothes and shoes he wanted to bring.
Quentin Grant stood up. “I’m going downstairs first. Pack whatever you want to bring, but remember one thing: pack more clothes and shoes and less of other things. After all, the suitcases can only hold so much, and we’re not going on vacation.”
The two boys nodded in unison.
He then went out and returned to his bedroom.
Nora Ainsworth had placed their sleeping little princess in her crib and was now packing for Quentin Grant, carefully selecting each item.
Quentin Grant helped her pack. After they were done, the couple lay on their large bed, feeling a bit reluctant to part.
“Nora, I’m leaving tomorrow.”
He said it as if it were a matter of life and death.
Nora Ainsworth murmured, “I know.”
“Our little princess is asleep. Shouldn’t we have a little romance?”
“And how would we do that?”
“Come with me.”
The two of them went downstairs, instructing the Men in Black to stand guard at the door and watch over their little princess.
Then they got into the car together.
Quentin Grant drove, with Nora Ainsworth in the passenger seat. In the dark of night, the car sped along the highway, finally stopping in front of an abandoned house.
They had come to this place together once, several years ago.
Nora Ainsworth had even sprained her ankle getting out of the car back then.
Returning to this place, Nora Ainsworth felt a wave of emotion wash over her.
She got out of the car and followed him, step by step, up the stairs.
Lights suddenly flashed on upstairs.
On the table was a bottle of dry red wine and two stemmed glasses, just like before.
The sofa was in its usual spot, and when she sat down, it was still just as soft. It was as if the place hadn’t changed, but people’s hearts had.
Quentin Grant poured two half-glasses, handing one to her and holding the other himself. The two of them sat there.
“Nora, to be honest, I haven’t been here in a very long time.”
“Then why did you think of coming here tonight?”
“I just suddenly remembered it. After all, this is a place we’ve been to together. I wanted to have one more romantic night with you here.”
As soon as he finished speaking, fireworks suddenly lit up the sky. The fireworks formed a portrait of Nora Ainsworth, followed by the words “I love you.”
Nora Ainsworth sat there quietly, her mind suddenly going blank.
She wrapped her arms around his waist and leaned against him. “Quentin, time is a wonderful thing. What’s meant to be yours will come to you. It’s useless to try and force what isn’t. It looks like it’s going to rain tonight.”
He lowered his head and kissed her. “Shh, don’t get distracted.”
She closed her eyes, returning his kiss.
A breeze swept by, bringing a slight chill, but their two fervent hearts pressed tightly together.
Happiness, in the end, was never late.
**
The news that they were participating in a charity film in the mountains had been released earlier, but everyone expressed shock and confusion. They wondered why someone as wealthy and powerful as Quentin Grant would take his two sons to the mountains to do charity work. Did he have nothing better to do?
In truth, the way a rich person thinks is often beyond the comprehension of an ordinary mind—that’s why they’re rich.
Some malicious netizens thought Quentin Grant and Ethan Ellsworth just wanted to turn their children into little celebrities.
However, this theory was quickly shot down by a large number of other netizens.
Because, even if the children became child stars, how much money could they really make?
The Grant Family could casually toss out a hundred million, which was more impressive than anything else.
Besides, Quentin Grant had already said that all payment from the film would be donated. This proved he wasn’t trying to create publicity for himself—not that he needed to.
In the first week of filming the charity project, the three children immediately became the most popular kids on set.
Moreover, in the film, the three children attended classes at a school in the mountains. The conditions were extremely poor, but they were able to play happily with the few other students there, even eating and living with them. This came as quite a surprise to the two fathers.
After all, Dylan Grant’s mysophobia was no less severe than Quentin Grant’s.
The charity project was effective. In the first week alone, it mobilized many netizens and public figures to participate in the event. The donation amounts were made public, and every single contribution was transparent to all.
The school’s dilapidated building was demolished and replaced with a brand-new classroom building. Dozens of children who often went hungry could now eat fragrant, hot meals every day.
This was the result of one week’s work at two schools.
The next week followed, and over the course of half a month, Ethan Ellsworth and Quentin Grant’s philanthropy earned them and their children blessings from many people.
More people began to pay attention to the children in the mountains. This was the first program ever filmed with charity and compassion as its core premise.
When Quentin Grant and Ethan Ellsworth donated their payment to the Hope Primary Schools, many media outlets gathered to interview them.
Quentin Grant and Ethan Ellsworth declined the interviews, but the two boys accepted.
“Elmer Grant, I heard that you and your brother understand the importance of being compassionate children at such a young age. When did you first feel that you should pay attention to the children in the mountains?”
Elmer Grant took the microphone and said, “A while ago, I saw a program on TV about their lives. They had to travel a long way to get to school every day, and they didn’t eat well. Some had almost nothing to eat at all. Those children endure hardships that are hard for us to imagine. So, I felt we should give them hope.”
Then the microphone was passed to Dylan Grant.
“Do you think your parents influenced your actions?”
Dylan Grant nodded. “Naturally. From my parents, I learned about tolerance, understanding, and loving one another. I think, when I grow up, I want to treat Dorothy the same way.”
The crowd erupted. Standing not far away, Dorothy’s little face turned red. Then, meeting Dylan Grant’s gaze, she actually took a microphone and said, “Me too!”
Ethan Ellsworth nudged Quentin Grant. “We’re doomed. See that? They’re influenced by you two.”
Quentin Grant let out a low laugh. “And your family is any different?”
He looked up at the sky. Blinding rays of golden light shone down, as if this moment was frozen in time. As long as time does not age, we will never part.
