Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 1701: Double Blessings, Everlasting Happiness
This winter is a day of double celebration.
Atlas Lancaster’s second son Michael Lancaster got married, and Violet Zimmerman is pregnant with her second child.
The Lancaster Family’s yard is filled with lanterns, brimming with happiness.
With Violet Zimmerman pregnant, she once again enjoys queen-level treatment. During the day, her mother-in-law actively comes to accompany her, helping her with the child, and Daxton Lancaster is unusually gentle toward her.
Joseph Lancaster, the younger brother, almost comes to see the “nephew” every day, buying delicious food and toys. Although he can’t escape his mother’s urging to get married each time, he always smiles and says, “What’s the rush? You’re about to have a second grandchild.”
At such times, Lorelei Howard would unhappily raise her voice and say, “How is that the same? No matter how many grandchildren I have, they are all your big brother’s. You haven’t given me even one yet!”
Joseph Lancaster, while playing with Robert, laughs and says, “Big brother’s son and my son are the same, both are your grandchildren. You can’t really differentiate between them, can you?”
Although Lorelei Howard is anxious, she can’t replace the thigh with the arm. She went through a lot of effort to pick several girls for him. Some, Joseph Lancaster outright said he wasn’t interested after just one meeting, and he dismissed two after “dating” for less than a week, claiming personality incompatibility.
Pregnancy was the happiest time for Violet Zimmerman.
Daxton Lancaster is a workaholic, a responsible man who puts earning money and supporting the family first. Although Violet Zimmerman was pregnant again, he didn’t reduce his travel time.
Joseph Lancaster was different; he handed over business trips to his assistant and stayed at home to take care of Violet and her child.
When Daxton was on a business trip, Joseph would take her and her son to the movies, out to eat, and occasionally to browse department stores.
Kids are like that; whoever buys them food and plays with them, they grow close to. Over time, Robert Lancaster became more fond of this “Uncle,” sometimes making Daxton, the “Father,” jealous.
Of course, when Daxton was home, Robert also enjoyed playing with his dad.
…
At six months, Daxton Lancaster pulled some strings to get Violet a B ultrasound, and it’s a boy, exactly what Daxton wanted.
Knowing she was carrying a boy, Violet quietly sighed in relief. Daxton didn’t like girls and once even threatened that if it were a girl, they would abort…
As the due date approached day by day, Lorelei Howard finally could hold her head high, not for any other reason but because Eva Hayes’ second daughter-in-law has been married for almost a year without conceiving.
Fortunes change, where once Eva would make snide remarks in front of her, now it was Lorelei’s turn to mock Eva.
However, Lorelei Howard had more manners than Eva Hayes and wouldn’t show off in front of Michael’s wife. After breakfast, she’d deliberately go back together with Eva, sighing all the way.
“Eva, they say early bloomer doesn’t count, later bloomer crushes the bed. That old saying is really true. You used to say our Violet couldn’t bear children, I almost believed it. But now, everything is fine, sigh…”
Saying this, Lorelei feigned a helpless sigh, “Violet is about to give birth soon, and my eldest grandson hasn’t grown up yet; I’ll have to tire myself out again!”
“Eva, you’re busy. I need to go watch Robert; that kid is mischievous and who knows what trouble he’s causing Violet and her child!”
Lorelei Howard left Eva Hayes in haste heading towards her eldest son’s residence. Eva Hayes looked at her retreating back and spat fiercely, “You have two grandsons, and don’t I have two as well? Look at her showing off!”
Despite her words, Eva Hayes went back and gave her second daughter-in-law a harsh talking to.
