Chapter 1048 - 1047: Utter Disappointment

Mrs. Ford came with Finn Chandler, yet he didn’t appear.

"Dad!"

Anna directly asked, "Where are you?"

"Hospital?"

Upon hearing Mr. Monroe say he was at the hospital, Anna was momentarily stunned.

Could it be that her dad was frightened by Mom’s suicide attempt this time, and he wanted to give it a chance?

"Okay, I’ll wait for you at the elevator on the third floor."

Anna mentioned Mrs. Monroe’s floor, thinking that if Mr. Monroe was coming to visit Mrs. Monroe, it might improve her mood.

Finn Chandler waited with Anna at the elevator for Mr. Monroe.

Not long after, the elevator doors opened, and Mr. Monroe stepped out.

Seeing him, Anna smiled and went to greet him, but when she saw the woman behind Mr. Monroe, her smile froze on her face.

Although Finn Chandler hadn’t met Mr. Monroe’s lover before, observing Mr. Monroe’s attitude towards her and the gentle young face, he understood that this was the woman who had caused the Monroe’s family issues to reach this point.

"What is she doing here!"

Anna asked angrily.

Recently, The Morgan Family had these issues, and Mr. Monroe had an indifferent attitude, yet he still cares about appearances in the bustling hospital.

"Anna, let’s find a place to talk."

As Mr. Monroe spoke, he turned his head and gently embraced the woman, the two walking together, seemingly well-matched.

Mr. Monroe wanted to talk to Anna, so Finn Chandler following was inappropriate; but as she was about to leave, Anna grabbed her.

"Finn, stay with me."

Serena Sullivan had been unwell since her pregnancy, and Anna didn’t dare talk about these matters with her.

The only person she could turn to was Finn Chandler.

"Alright!"

Finn Chandler didn’t refuse; she knew seeing Mr. Monroe bring his lover here had shattered Anna’s emotional state.

The four reached a relatively quiet spot, and Anna couldn’t control her emotions, confronting Mr. Monroe, "Dad, Mom is staying here, do you know that!"

"Today she tried for you, and..."

"I don’t know!"

Mr. Monroe interrupted, his cold response making Anna shiver.

"Anna."

Mr. Monroe softened his voice and as he spoke, he turned his head and tightly held the hand of the woman beside him, "I’ve made things clear with your mom."

"Her life and death have nothing to do with me."

The icy reply made Anna feel estranged.

In her eyes, the man who had always treated her mom kindly had suddenly turned into someone else.

"I came here to take Xiaoyi for a prenatal check!"

Finn Chandler was stunned when she heard this; like Anna, her gaze fell on the woman’s abdomen.

Previously, Anna mentioned that Mr. Monroe’s lover was already pregnant.

Looking carefully at her outfit, she was dressed in a loose beige dress, and only upon closer inspection could one see her belly slightly protruding.
