Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1096 - 1095: Between Life and Death
The glass shattered, the floor was a complete mess, and at the same time Fiona Ford’s hand was sliced open by the shards, blood streaming everywhere, the pain making her cry even harder.
She treasured her body; if it weren’t absolutely necessary, she would never use such a stupid way to kill herself.
She was going to wait until she convinced Mr. Ford to forgive her, wait until she recovered, and then she would definitely, definitely pay Finn Chandler back double.
"Dad, since you don’t believe me, and my leg’s ruined now, there’s no point in living!"
As she spoke, Fiona lifted the blood-red shard of glass in her hand and slashed it toward her own wrist.
She lowered it very slowly, watching Mr. Ford’s expression.
Mr. Ford didn’t move, just kept looking at her.
"Dad!"
Fiona searched Mr. Ford’s face for the slightest hint of softening, but found none. Crying, she called out, "Are you really going to force me to die?"
"Can’t you give me a way out!"
Pressing the shard hard against her wrist, she stared at Mr. Ford as she spoke.
"I’m begging you, begging you, please save me."
Fiona cried out loudly as she pleaded. She could feel how cold Mr. Ford was this time, and her whole body began trembling in fear.
She pressed the shard harder; originally she’d meant to put on an act, but now she’d cut off her own retreat.
"Fiona Ford!"
The ward door was pushed open again; Mrs. Ford, who had been waiting outside with Julian Ford and Finn Chandler, couldn’t hold herself back and came rushing in.
Fiona was crying, begging, and threatening to die; she was afraid Mr. Ford might soften.
"If you want to die, do it cleanly."
"So our Ford Family doesn’t have to waste time sending you in."
Seeing Mrs. Ford come in, and Finn Chandler and Julian Ford at the door, Fiona instantly flared up in rage.
"It’s all you people who ruined me. Watching me get destroyed like this, you’re all pleased with yourselves!"
"This time we can’t let Fiona off. Even if you plead for her, it’s useless."
Mrs. Ford’s words were directed at Mr. Ford.
"Wife of the Eldest Master Ford!"
Before Mr. Ford could answer, Fiona shouted in panic. She glared at Mrs. Ford and cursed, "What are you so happy about?"
"Dad was forced to marry you. The one he’s always loved in his heart is my mom. So what if you manage the Ford Family for him! So what if you gave him such a wonderful son! The one he’s always loved is my mom!"
Pushed to the brink by Mr. Ford’s silent lack of reaction, Fiona was about to go insane. She needed to vent, needed to dump her own pain onto someone else.
The Wife of the Eldest Master Ford stood in the doorway with a cold little laugh, not answering.
In truth, she was still stung by Fiona’s words.
With a sharp "smack," Mr. Ford’s slap landed, leaving everyone stunned, including Finn Chandler and Julian Ford at the door.
In Mr. Ford’s heart, Fiona’s place was no less important than Julian’s.
Mr. Ford had truly raised her like a precious daughter.
"Sylvia Sinclair, I really regret bringing you back all those years ago."
Mr. Ford didn’t feel that he’d been wrong to slap her. He looked coldly at Fiona, who had been struck into silence, her crying forgotten. "I raised you because of your mother."
"I owe your mother, but she and I were never possible."
Mr. Ford knew very clearly in his heart that his breakup with his first love wasn’t just because of the former Wife of the Eldest Master Ford.
It was also because of social standing—being well matched in status—and in many ways their temperaments and family backgrounds were incompatible.
"I brought you back because you were pitiful. All these years I raised you as a daughter, not as a future daughter-in-law."
In other words, no matter whom Julian Ford married, it was never going to be Finn Chandler.
"You don’t know what’s good for you, you don’t understand gratitude, you’re cruel and ruthless, and now you still refuse to change. You’ve disappointed me completely."
