Before Cecilia Vaughn could take a bite of the small cake, the host in a black suit hurriedly shouted in English.

“Has anyone seen Madam Deloris’s ring?!”

Cecilia was slightly startled and looked at Adrian Law with some surprise.

“Is the security system here really that poor? The banquet hasn’t even officially started, and someone’s valuable item has already been stolen.”

Adrian wasn’t interested in such trivial matters. He gently picked up a small plate and brought the piece of cocoa cake to Cecilia’s mouth.

“Cecilia, don’t worry about these things, just enjoy your food.”

“…”

Cecilia saw the man’s handsome, heroic silhouette and the casual smile on his lips.

Her heart seemed to skip a beat suddenly.

——When a nearly perfect-looking man stares at you like this, as if you’re the only one in the world, it’s really easy to fall for him.

Many people might think that Adrian’s looks are the most favored by heaven.

But Cecilia sometimes wonders, if Adrian weren’t so perfect-looking, just an ordinary guy, as long as he wasn’t particularly ugly and reached the standard of a passerby, she would still gradually fall into the web of affection he weaves.

However, because of his face, she inevitably and rather vulgarly fell for him more quickly than she imagined.

How can one even conceive that falling for a completely new person who loves you and is compatible with you in every worldview is the easiest thing in the world, requiring no thought at all?

…

A bit of a sigh passed through Cecilia’s mind as she hesitated, staring at the cocoa cake, then turned her head to look at the various exquisite pastries on the banquet shelf.

Each piece gave her the illusion that her stomach was growling.

“Adrian, you really shouldn’t be encouraging me to eat, I always feel like a ridiculous meme from the internet.”

“Come on, you’re the heaviest.”

Adrian, perceptive as he was, had already teasingly filled in the words for Cecilia before she even finished speaking.

“…”

Cecilia angrily tapped Adrian’s arm.

“Hey, how could you say that? I haven’t reached the point of being outrageously overweight, have I?”

According to the standard weight, she’s just a little bit shy of the mark now.

However, in modern times, most people’s beauty standards lean towards being thin, so on TV, a one-sixty-seven female star weighing over eighty pounds is normal, while in reality, a one-sixty-five girl typically thinks ninety pounds is perfect.

To some extent, the passion for being thin has become somewhat pathological.

Once, while Cecilia was shopping, she encountered a pair of girls dressed in traditional outfits. Both were particularly beautiful, but one was thin and the other somewhat plump. The plump girl was likely close to a hundred and forty pounds, but her intricate hairstyle and Tang-style clothing suddenly made Cecilia understand the reason behind the Golden Dynasty’s beauty standards favoring the plump.

There was an incredibly harmonious natural feel about it, making one want to give her a pinch.

…

Cecilia quickly found her thoughts wandering, and Adrian, seeing her eyes smiling dreamily, immediately knew that this girl was mostly thinking about something else.

The man smiled helplessly and pretended to put the cocoa cake back on the plate.

“Hmm, I wonder if you don’t actually love food as much as you imagined. In that case, I’ll just enjoy it myself.”

“I forbid it—”

Cecilia glared at Adrian and quickly snatched the cake away in a flurry of movements, while Adrian looked at her with amusement.

“Cecilia, with your behavior, you’re worse than a preschooler; even little girls know what sharing means.”

“…”

Cecilia dropped her gaze in embarrassment, swallowed, and saw a particularly attractive red velvet cake not far away, so she stood up and handed the cake to Adrian’s mouth.

“Alright, alright, I’ve seen the error of my ways. I’m sincerely asking for my lord’s forgiveness.”

Cecilia looked pathetically at Adrian, her almond eyes as clear and gentle as a watery wave. Anyone unaware of her nature would have thought Adrian and Cecilia were a truly harmonious husband-and-wife team.

——In reality, the probability of her leading the couple was higher.

…

Adrian was also slightly surprised to see Cecilia looking at him so “pathetically,” especially with those soft, water-like eyes that made the man’s eyes turn deeply enigmatic.

“Cecilia, don’t refer to me like that in public anymore.”

“What title?”

Cecilia was stunned for a second and then realized.

“You mean ‘my lord’? Why? It’s not such a big deal, plus everyone here is foreign, they’d be lucky to understand the word for husband in Chinese.”

“…”

Seeing the innocence on Cecilia’s face, an intense feeling of possessiveness and aggressiveness grew in his heart.

Adrian couldn’t help but lean down and place a gentle peck on Cecilia’s hair.

“Because it makes it hard for me to control myself.”

???

Control himself from what?

Cecilia was feeling confused, but upon seeing Adrian’s predatory gaze like a wolf, she immediately understood.

The girl instantly shrank into a ball, silently retreating to the back of her chair.

“Hey, isn’t that a bit much? It’s just a title.”

“It’s forbidden, regardless.”

Adrian stubbornly shook his head.

Seeing Cecilia’s speechless expression, the man chuckled softly, leaned his head over, and with possessive intent, enveloped Cecilia in his strong, slender arms.

“Of course, if we’re at home, behind closed doors, and you call me ‘my lord’ so sweetly, I’d be even more pleased.”

“????”

Cecilia wore an utterly confused expression. Originally, the title seemed quite normal, but after Adrian’s interpretation, Cecilia couldn’t help but find it too intimate.

She shrugged in embarrassment and softly tapped Adrian’s forehead.

“What are you thinking about?”

A mind full of useless X-rated thoughts.

Isn’t that just too inappropriate!

…

The banquet was bustling with people coming and going, yet she and Adrian were discussing such a topic not suitable for others to hear.

Sigh… It really is too much…

Cecilia’s face turned a light shade of pink. She was about to say something when she saw a familiar, handsome figure holding a red wine glass, strolling towards her and Adrian.

“Sean Grant?”

Cecilia blinked in surprise, clearly not expecting to meet a fellow student from Stellerton University in Orleanna.

Oh, but then again, Stellerton University is on break now, and Sean Grant himself is an outstanding student of the Caelus Academy of Fine Arts, so it’s not surprising for him to be here.

…

Adrian frowned drastically upon hearing Cecilia’s exclamation, casting a hostile glance at the approaching person.
