[There was nothing in the world that was an absolute secret. Not even death.]

[Following the clues, Rorschach found "Moloch." Under violent interrogation, the elderly Moloch quickly confessed everything.]

[Several weeks ago, the other party had come to find him!]

[At this moment, the scene returned to the past.]

[At midnight, Moloch had long since gone to sleep.]

[But right then, a figure broke in and woke him up.]

[The other party had clearly drunk a great deal of alcohol, but even drunkenness could not suppress the terror on his face!]

[He recognized him. It was the Comedian.]

[And what frightened him even more was that the other party actually began weeping!]

Inside the Batcave.

Even after going through countless storms, Bruce still could not understand it.

The Comedian was crying!

For this self-destructive man to show such a state was even more shocking than a demon turning into an angel!

Just what had happened to make this man become like this?!

[The Comedian simply sat by the bed and spoke to this former villain he had once defeated as if confessing to a priest:]

["It's a joke. It's all a fucking joke!"]

["I thought I knew how things were. I thought I knew what the world was!"]

["I've killed women and children, but that was in Vietnam, during the war!"]

["But I never did it again after that."]

[As he spoke, the Comedian somewhat broke down:]

["What the hell am I doing, spilling my guts to my enemy..."]

["Fuck! But honestly, you're the closest thing I've got to a friend."]

["And Janey, or whatever her name is. Manhattan's ex-girlfriend."]

["There's a list. You're on it too."]

[As he spoke, the Comedian shook his head and left, leaving Moloch, who had already wet himself in fear, on the bed.]

Inside the Owlship!

Nite Owl and Silk Spectre's hearts pounded wildly!

What Rorschach said was actually true. Someone really was hunting the Watchmen, as well as people connected to them!

But how could anyone have designs on Manhattan?

"No!"

Laurie could not help crying out!

The other party did not merely have designs on him!

They had already succeeded!

She looked at the confused Nite Owl, terror showing in her eyes as she said:

"Dan, a scheme doesn't necessarily mean killing..."

Nite Owl suddenly awakened!

Because Doctor Manhattan was already no longer on Earth!

From another perspective, how was that any different from death?

At this moment, an uncontrollable chill surged up in his heart!

It was as if he saw an invisible bullet shooting toward him!

["Rorschach's Journal, October 16."]

[Moloch's memories dispersed like smoke, and Rorschach's voice rang out in the darkness.]

["Thought about Moloch's story. Could be all lies. Could be revenge scheme he cooked up in prison."]

["But if true, what could have scared the Comedian so badly that he cried in front of Moloch?"]

["What did he see?"]

["Being murdered—is this our fate?"]

["No friends spare time for us. Only enemies leave roses. Violent lives ending violently."]

Gotham!

Joker suddenly became extremely serious.

He looked at Harley and said:

"Sweetheart, let me tell you a joke."

"A man goes to see a doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life is hard and cruel."

"Says he feels all alone in this dangerous world."

"The doctor says the treatment is simple. A great clown called Pagliacci has come to town. Go see him, and everything will get better."

"But who would have thought the man would start crying?"

"He says: Doctor, I am Pagliacci."

"Haha, how funny..."

"The clown was myself all along!"

Inside the booth.

Looking at Joker laughing wildly, unable to control himself, Harley could not laugh at all for the first time.

She did not know whether this was about the Comedian or Joker himself.

[Rorschach's voice disappeared, replaced by a sound that made one blush.]

Perhaps this was merely a joke.

[Blue light appeared in the image. Doctor Manhattan and Laurie were doing something joyful.]

[But after only a few seconds, Laurie felt something was wrong. She felt four hands!]

[She immediately woke up and saw two Manhattans!]

[And right then, she saw that in the laboratory not far away, there was another Doctor Manhattan working in front of the machine!]

Compared to his previous heaven-defying abilities, creating duplicates did not seem particularly surprising.

But at this moment, almost every male viewer felt envy rise in their hearts at the same time.

Inside the House of Mystery.

At this moment, the great Mr. Constantine stared so hard his eyes almost popped out. He wished he could sell his soul one more time in exchange for this ability.

Do not misunderstand. He had no other meaning.

He simply felt that having another helper during battle would give him a greater chance of victory!

Mm. That was all!

[As a woman, Laurie felt her boyfriend's perfunctory treatment. Furious, she put on a nightgown and walked over, picked up a component, and threw it at him.]

[However, the fist-sized alloy sphere seemed to hit liquid.]

[It only caused ripples to spread across Manhattan's body before passing through him and smashing the computer behind him.]

"Completely different from passing through objects before. This time, he changed his own material state?"

Bruce took a deep breath.

He felt that his ability to accept things was already strong enough, yet this man kept refreshing his understanding again and again.

He even had a strong premonition.

This still was not the limit of the other party.

[Doctor Manhattan explained that the machine had already reached its final critical stage, and the bigger picture had to come first.]

[Laurie's face was full of disappointment. She turned and left to find Nite Owl.]

[Finally, after violently beating up a group of unlucky thugs to vent the anger in her heart, the two parted ways.]

[At eight o'clock that night, Doctor Manhattan put on a suit and attended a television interview.]

[Originally, this was merely a formality, something the government used to display deterrence.]

[But during the live questioning segment, a member of the audience asked why so many people who had spent time with Doctor Manhattan had developed cancer.]

[Then, Janey appeared as "evidence."]

[As Manhattan's ex-girlfriend, she was suffering from a terminal illness!]

[This woman shouted in anger and despair:]

["God damn you, Jon!"]

[The instant her voice fell, the scene went out of control!]

[The reporters present were like sharks that had smelled blood!]

[They swarmed forward, completely ignoring order, surrounding Doctor Manhattan and continuously asking sharp questions!]

Inside the cosmic spaceship!

Boros flew into a rage!

A group of lowly, insignificant ants actually did not know reverence and dared to question a god!

They truly deserved death!
