My 100th Rebirth a day before the Apocalypse
Chapter 1021 - 1019 Mutated Animals Acquired 10
After several failed attempts and a few painful lessons, the mutated Golden Eagle gradually stopped trying to deal with Bell.
Every time it resisted, its injuries only grew worse.
Kisha glanced at them from time to time, checking whether Bell was doing alright.
But her worries proved unnecessary.
After all, Bell had managed to defeat a creature a hundred times larger than itself. Compared to that, keeping an eye on a mutated Golden Eagle that it defeated was hardly a challenge.
Reassured, Kisha returned her focus to the Magic Scroll she was currently inscribing.
Fortunately, she had already grasped the laws of time and space, along with several other complex magical theories. Because of this, it didn’t take her long to complete the Binding Magic Scroll.
The moment she finished the final stroke, the arcane magic circle on the scroll glowed faintly, an unmistakable sign of success.
Satisfied, she sealed the scroll as she usually did.
However, she didn’t stand up just yet.
Instead, she decided to make a few more.
She was confident that this one was already perfect and didn’t even need to be tested. After all, her Luck attribute had always played a significant role in her success. Over time, she had begun to notice that she could almost sense whether something would work out in her favor.
And more often than not, luck was always on her side.
Realizing this, she chose to trust her instincts.
Besides, more than just her luck, it was her complete understanding of magical theory and arcane circles that made inscribing Magic Scrolls far easier for her now.
With that knowledge, she could freely modify the inscriptions and shape them almost however she wanted. As long as she fully understood the underlying theory and had a clear concept of the spell in her mind, the rest became manageable.
Once the mana distribution was properly balanced, the cardinal directions were correctly aligned, and the elemental attributes were properly integrated into the arcane circle, the foundation of the scroll would already be stable.
At that point, her Luck attribute would naturally play its part, quietly increasing the chances of the inscription succeeding.
Taking advantage of the moment, Kisha continued inscribing more Binding Magic Scrolls, hoping to speed up the process of capturing the ten mutated animals required for her mission.
Another hour passed.
By the end of it, she had completed five additional Binding Magic Scrolls.
Throughout the entire time, Ethan remained quietly behind her, silently standing guard.
Meanwhile, Bell and Zeus continued harassing the mutated Golden Eagle without pause.
Bell continued doing its job, constantly buzzing around the mutated Golden Eagle to prevent it from escaping.
But from Zeus’s perspective, watching Bell dart around the eagle made it look like Bell was simply playing with the creature.
And if Bell was playing—
Then Zeus wanted to join too.
Without hesitation, Zeus rushed over and began harassing the mutated Golden Eagle as well.
Unlike Bell, Zeus wasn’t afraid of getting hurt. Thanks to its ’Armor Body’ skill, it wasn’t worried about being sliced apart by the eagle’s sharp talons or beak.
Of course, the mutated Golden Eagle didn’t ignore Zeus.
Seeing that Zeus appeared much weaker than the swift and troublesome Bell, it tried to attack the dog several times, hoping to drive it away first.
But unfortunately for the eagle, Zeus wasn’t as weak as it looked.
Even though Zeus could be a little foolish at times, it was still a Unique-Grade mutated animal, just like the mutated Golden Eagle. And with its Armor Body skill protecting it, the eagle’s attacks barely did anything to it.
Bell didn’t even bother trying to stop Zeus.
Bell already knew the attacks wouldn’t work anyway.
Instead, Zeus only became more energetic as it continued pouncing at the eagle, ramming into it or jumping onto its back whenever it had the chance.
At this point, if the mutated Golden Eagle could speak, it would probably be crying in frustration.
Seeing the frustration in the mutated Golden Eagle’s eyes, Kisha couldn’t help but chuckle.
It seemed that Zeus constantly harassing it, especially after Bell had already severely injured it, had helped temper the eagle’s ferocity a little. That made her feel more reassured about letting Mike handle the process of taming it later.
Without wasting any more time, Kisha unsealed one of the Binding Magic Scrolls.
Before activating it, she ordered her battle pets to move away so they wouldn’t accidentally get caught in the spell.
Zeus was the fastest to react, darting away immediately.
The moment the scroll was activated, the spell shot toward the mutated Golden Eagle and wrapped around it instantly.
This time, no matter how violently the eagle struggled, it couldn’t break free.
Although the binding still resembled a ribbon-like seal, it looked different from before. Instead of glowing brightly, the ribbon appeared almost transparent as it wrapped tightly around the eagle, making it look like a dumpling.
The binding even resembled the ’City Shield’ barrier, clear and nearly invisible, yet whenever something touched it, ripples of light would spread across its surface, revealing its strength.
The glowing ripples traveled across the bindings each time the eagle struggled, making the spell look far more stable and sturdy than the previous version.
Kisha patiently waited for ten full minutes, watching to see if the mutated Golden Eagle could somehow break free.
But just as her instincts had predicted—
The binding held perfectly.
The Binding Magic Scroll was a success.
Satisfied, Kisha handed one of the scrolls to Ethan.
"If you encounter a good mutated animal with a similar presence to this one, you can use this," she explained. "Once you find one, call me over. If it meets my standards, I’ll capture it. If not, at least this scroll can protect you if you end up in danger."
After all, if Ethan accidentally attracted another powerful mutated animal that tried to devour him, the scroll could temporarily bind it.
Then she could use her ’Eye of Truth’ skill to evaluate it.
If the creature turned out to be a good specimen, it could become part of the first batch of tamed mutated animals she planned to assign to her core members as companions.
If it wasn’t suitable...
She would simply kill it or hand it over to Mike so the mutated animal could still be put to use somehow.
Kisha had no intention of letting any resource go to waste.
Seeing the magic scroll in action with his own eyes and knowing that his sister had created it entirely through her own skill left Ethan stunned in awe.
It was the first time he had truly witnessed Kisha’s competence and abilities up close. Every time he looked at her now, it felt as though he was discovering something new about his sister.
And each discovery was more astonishing than the last.
He stood there, completely frozen in amazement, unable to even respond.
It wasn’t until Kisha placed the scroll directly into his hand that he snapped out of it, after standing there in a daze for nearly ten seconds.
"Now go on," Kisha said lightly. "With that Magic Scroll in your hand, you don’t have to worry about being attacked so easily. It’s better if we split up to look for mutated animals instead of moving together."
As she spoke, she gently turned the still-stunned Ethan around and gave him a light push on the back.
Only then did Ethan finally come back to his senses.
"Sister, this... this..." Ethan murmured, staring at the scroll in his hand.
He wanted to say something more, but the excitement bubbling inside him made it hard to form proper words. The scroll felt unbelievably amazing in his grasp.
"Sister... you’re incredible," he finally managed to say.
Then, without another word, he turned and ran back toward the forest they had come from.
Like a child who had just received an extraordinary new toy, Ethan was eager to try it out himself. After watching how Kisha had used the scroll earlier, he believed all he needed to do was follow the same actions to activate it.
And he wasn’t entirely wrong.
Watching him rush off like that, Kisha couldn’t help but smile.
This was the first time she had seen her usually stoic brother behave so openly excited.
After Ethan disappeared into the trees, Kisha turned her attention back to the mutated Golden Eagle.
The eagle glared at her with murderous intent, its golden eyes burning with fury. It struggled violently, trying again and again to break free from the bindings.
But no matter how hard it fought, the magic restraints refused to budge.
For a creature that ruled the skies, a proud and dominant predator that valued freedom above all else, being trapped like this was a deep humiliation.
That humiliation only fueled its anger.
Yet despite all its furious struggles...
It still couldn’t escape.
Not long after, while the mutated Golden Eagle was still seething in its anger, its surroundings suddenly changed.
In an instant, it appeared in a completely different location.
