Chapter 829: Why Have You Lost So Much Weight!

This time, she managed to get through it successfully thanks to the newly developed drug in the lab, which alleviated much of her pain.

But Noah Drexler endured those two instances relying solely on his own willpower, and the pain during the second time was several times more than what she was experiencing now.

She couldn’t begin to imagine how he managed to endure it.

The pain was something she couldn’t even dare to think about.

Noah Drexler held her, and the sensation on his palm made him furrow his brow involuntarily.

Her body had become much thinner; because she was wearing a loose sweater, he hadn’t noticed earlier.

Only now, holding her tight, did he realize there wasn’t much flesh left on her.

"Why have you lost so much weight!" he couldn’t help but speak, feeling a pang of heartache.

Did she deliberately wear a loose sweater, so he wouldn’t notice how thin she had become?

As Noah Drexler lowered his gaze, looking seriously at the woman in his arms, she puckered her lips dismissively and said casually.

"When I get pregnant and have a child, I’ll gain the weight back."

It’s okay for her to be thin now; anyway, once her body recovers, after pregnancy and childbirth, she’ll gain the weight back.

Listening to her soft voice, he paused, surprised that she still remembered the prospect of having children — she really wanted a child?

Thinking about it, he slightly furrowed his brow, lowered his gaze again to look at her emaciated face, feeling endless heartache; he couldn’t imagine how she endured all this alone, so much so that looking at her now, he didn’t dare ask her what she had gone through this past month.

The little girl who was once afraid of bugs, afraid of pain, who would cry at the drop of a hat, has truly grown up.

Summer Shawcross felt his gaze and couldn’t help but look up at him, then suddenly explained to him.

"Sean Morgan said that I’ve already gone through the toughest phase, and it will be much smoother now onwards."

Although her current situation doesn’t count as having successfully detoxified, she has already gotten through a major difficulty; victory is now beckoning to her.

Listening to her words, Noah Drexler pressed his thin lips together and said nothing, only looking at her with a face full of heartache.

Seeing the heaviness in his expression, Summer Shawcross suddenly smiled and spoke to him, trying to lighten the mood.

"Aren’t I amazing?"

Upon hearing this, Noah Drexler paused for a moment, then moved his thin lips, admitting.

"Yes." His handsome face was full of seriousness.

He had never thought that this woman, whom he once considered fragile and vulnerable, could possess such immense strength within her body, accomplishing something many couldn’t!

After all, the virus was formidable because few people could withstand the pain of its onset, so they all ended up as puppets under The Drexler Family, relying solely on the monthly antidote.

She managed to do what those people couldn’t!

Seeing his admission, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but smile, with an added touch of pride on her face.

Then a cool autumn wind blew in from outside, bringing with it a few falling leaves that drifted into the room.

Summer Shawcross looked down at the leaf that had floated in and couldn’t help but express with emotion.
