My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively

Chapter 897: Once Believed He Was a Monster Without Human Emotions

  • Next Chapter

Just as the man sat in the wheelchair, cherishingly flipping through the photo album in his hands, footsteps suddenly echoed from the hallway outside.

Immediately following was the sound of the doorknob being twisted open from the outside, the door being pushed open, and then the sound of leather shoes stepping on the floor was heard.

A tall man in a black overcoat walked in with large strides.

And at this moment, his handsome face was filled with an extremely cold demeanor.

Hearing the sound, the man in the wheelchair paused his hand flipping through the album. He slowly turned his head to look at the man who had just entered, his gaze stopping on his face, full of cold aloofness and devoid of warmth.

“You finally agreed to see me,” he said with a self-mocking tone, noticing the man who only appeared late at night.

“She just fell asleep,” Noah Drexler gave him a cursory glance, then pursed his thin lips, and said.

It rained and thundered tonight, so… he stayed with her until she fell completely asleep before leaving, which caused him to arrive much later.

After Noah Drexler finished speaking, the expression on the man’s face froze…

“Why did you save me?” He asked suddenly after staring at Noah Drexler for a moment, voicing the doubt that had always lingered in his heart.

After his voice fell, Noah Drexler, standing in the room, did not show much emotional fluctuation. He merely gave a cold glance at the man sitting in the wheelchair and then said with some disdain.

“Because you still have value.”

If it were not for the fact that he still had value, he wouldn’t have saved him!

“Even if you do this, I won’t thank you,” the man said without a trace of gratitude after hearing Noah Drexler’s words.

“I don’t need your gratitude!” Noah Drexler gave the other a disdainful look, responding coldly.

“Then what do you want?” The man showed a hint of confusion on his face.

He did not know what value he could still possess for the man in front of him now!

After he finished speaking, a cold smile appeared on Noah Drexler’s face.

“Looks like you’re not that stupid after all!”

The man looked at him, remaining silent.

At this moment, Noah Drexler’s low, cold voice began to slowly resurface.

“From now on, you only need to play one role well.”

“What role?” The man asked, puzzled.

“The role of a good brother!” Noah Drexler stared at the other for a moment before slowly speaking.

Yes, the man sitting in the wheelchair before him was Sean Shawcross, who had once been severely injured to the point of becoming a vegetable, yet was sent abroad for treatment by Noah Drexler!

He has woken up now, but his legs are ruined, and he will never stand again in this life.

The only reason he saved him was for Summer Shawcross.

He never experienced deep family affection; even when his mother passed away, he had never felt the same agony as Summer did when she thought she had lost her brother.

Therefore, he had once thought he was a monster devoid of human emotions.

But … she was different from him.

She grew up in a warm and loving environment, long accustomed to the company of her family.

She needed family by her side.

So… when he saw how much pain she was in because of Sean, he softened and couldn’t help but make this decision, saving someone he had initially thought to eliminate!

…

After Noah Drexler’s words fell, Sean Shawcross, sitting in the wheelchair, trembled slightly.
