My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 899: Never Truly Protected Her
Listening to Sean Shawcross’s words of remorse, there wasn’t much change in Noah Drexler’s expression, as he looked coldly at the man in front of him.
His gaze suddenly fell on the photo album on the man’s lap, and he immediately recognized the little girl on the cover as Summer Shawcross in her childhood.
She was wearing a qipao, looking almost the same as the time she had saved him.
His gaze tightened.
Sean also noticed Noah’s gaze, glanced down at the album in his hands, and then slowly began to speak.
“These are all photos from Summer’s childhood.”
As he spoke, he closed the album in his hands, then picked it up and handed it to Noah Drexler.
Noah raised his hand, took the album, and flipped through it, stopping at the photo he had just seen. His gaze lingered on that picture, and the coldness in his eyes gradually faded, replaced by a bit of gentleness…
Noah’s gaze made Sean pause for a moment, and his eyes also fell on the album in Noah’s hands, suddenly recalling memories from childhood, and continued to say.
“Summer was very lively and quite smart as a child, so… I always hoped that she could live a carefree life when she grew up.”
“But never did I expect the Shawcross Family to encounter unforeseen events, and as her weak-willed brother, I couldn’t protect her. I could only watch helplessly as she went to your side to pay off the debt, constantly reassuring me that she was doing well.”
At this point, Sean’s face was full of guilt.
“I’m a useless brother who never truly protected her.”
Listening to Sean’s words, Noah didn’t say anything but stood there patiently flipping through the photos in the album, one by one.
It was a while later.
After closing the album, Noah’s gaze returned to Sean.
A moment later, he pursed his thin lips and suddenly spoke to him.
“She’s pregnant.”
After his deep voice fell, Sean’s body stiffened, and his thin, gentle face showed a look of shock…
“Summer… she’s pregnant?” He looked at Noah, his expression instantly becoming a bit excited.
Noah lowered his gaze and stared at Sean for a moment before slowly speaking, reminding him.
“You could choose to die, and I can ensure she never discovers any of this! However, if you die, you’ll never see the child she has with me.”
Noah’s voice was very calm and composed, yet it made Sean’s face go pale…
The hands on the wheelchair involuntarily clenched tightly.
At that moment, Noah’s calm voice continued to ring out.
“If you still insist on not wanting to live, I won’t force you, but if you want to continue living, I hope you can keep being a good brother, and make her happy!”
Sean remained silent, just frozen there in his wheelchair, suddenly feeling a hatred for himself, unwilling to even die for atonement…
Indeed, he was unwilling, wanting to see her child, to see her happily live afterward…
Seeing Sean’s silence, Noah didn’t continue speaking either, but raised his hand to check the time on his watch, his brow furrowing slightly.
He had been out for quite a while and needed to return.
Otherwise, if that woman was startled awake by the thunder and didn’t see him, she would start overthinking again!
