My Arts Evolve When Perfected
Chapter 572: World-Destroying Thunder Tribulation, the Celestial Wolf Ancestor is Horrified
This suggestion, of course, had come from Jiang Qiu. The path of Cultivation was just like that—there was no such thing as smooth sailing forever. As long as one could break through to a higher Realm, any sacrifice was worthwhile. Besides, from a certain perspective, the One-tailed was part of the Nine-tailed Fox. They shared the same Soul and were essentially one and the same person, but now it had been severed.
Of course, this was not a method just anyone could accomplish. The actual severing was incredibly complex. It required maintaining a certain connection while simultaneously cutting the karmic ties. Even with Jiang Qiu’s current Cultivation, it would be difficult to guarantee success. Everything was a huge gamble!
‘If this gamble fails, I’ll be dragged in too, since I’ve inherited the traits of the Nine-tailed Fox’s second avatar. I just don’t know if my Dragon Emperor bloodline can withstand such a ferocious Thunder Tribulation…’
Jiang Qiu continued to secretly observe, his hands resting on the Nine-tailed Fox’s White Jade spine to help it further condense its third avatar. The mountain-like Spirit Vein beside them no longer shone as it once had; it now resembled a dead mountain. All of its surging Spiritual Qi had been compressed into their two bodies. To be precise, most of it was concentrated within the Nine-tailed Fox. That third tail now carried a surging power far beyond what it should have been able to bear.
The Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm from an entire Spirit Vein was not something a being at the Perfect Transformation Realm could withstand. It is no exaggeration to say that even a Super Great Demon above the Transformation Realm could not handle it; the most they could bear would be a mere drop in the ocean.
But strangely, the third tail of the Nine-tailed Fox—which was merely attempting to break through to the level above the Transformation Realm—could actually bear such immense power!
It was like an ant swallowing an elephant without bursting, and this was the crux of Jiang Qiu’s plan. He needed the Nine-tailed Fox to use its unique Nine-tailed Form Secret Technique to create a third avatar. This third avatar was bound to be extraordinary. In other words, activating the Vast Water Spirit Charm—a Spirit Charm completely new to this world—required paying an enormous price.
That price, naturally, was an entire Spirit Vein. Therefore, the Nine-tailed Fox was currently in a state of equilibrium between input and output. The surging Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm stored within its third tail was not completely static; rather, a continuous stream of Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm flowed into her body only to flow back out.
The benefit of this was that the Nine-tailed Fox was acting more as a converter than a mere storage tank. That massive amount of Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm was temporarily stored in a special state within the Nine-tailed Fox’s third tail. Then, taking advantage of the time while the One-tailed was undergoing its tribulation, the Refinement process began!
The Vast Water Spirit Charm was already beginning to take shape. As long as the Refinement continued, the third avatar would be successfully created.
While the commotion in the mining area grew to such a scale, Celestial Wolf City was a scene of bustling festivity. Adorned with lanterns and colorful banners, the city’s various Great Demon Races were welcoming Great Demons from other demon cities, all of whom had come to present gifts to the Celestial Wolf Ancestor.
Indeed, it was time for the Celestial Wolf Ancestor’s birthday banquet. Countless famous Great Demon Races had come to celebrate. The Ancestors of the major clans—experts at the Transformation Realm—dared not refuse the invitation. Even those in seclusion had forced themselves to emerge, all for the sake of celebrating the Celestial Wolf Ancestor’s birthday.
After all, the Celestial Wolf Ancestor was the very origin of Celestial Wolf City. He had reached the level above the Transformation Realm tens of thousands of years ago, and now, he was not far from the realm above that. His strength was exceedingly formidable.
Furthermore, it was because the Celestial Wolf Ancestor had once imparted his teachings that the dozens of Ancestors present were able to establish such large families, allowing Celestial Wolf City to become so prosperous.
In other words, the Celestial Wolf Ancestor was the origin of Celestial Wolf City. Without him, there would be no Celestial Wolf City, and they certainly wouldn’t exist as Ancestors. Tens of thousands of years ago, they might have still been nothing more than wild demons.
Therefore, they had to respect the Celestial Wolf Ancestor no matter what. The Ancestors from other cities naturally sent representatives to offer congratulations as well. As they were all located in the middle ranks of the Primitive Ancient Forest, they had to show him face.
Moreover, the Celestial Wolf Ancestor’s strength was exceptionally formidable. It was rumored that he was close to touching upon the legendary next realm, which meant he would be qualified to travel to the Chaos Main City.
The Chaos Main City was filled entirely with those of the Chaos Bloodline. The weakest of the Demon Race inside would be an Ancestor of a city on the outside. Transformation was truly the bare minimum. They could achieve Transformation from the moment of birth, whereas every member of the Demon Race outside the Chaos Main City had to cultivate step by step. This was the fundamental difference from the very beginning.
No one dared to question the authority of the Chaos Main City. Everyone who lived there possessed the Chaos Bloodline. Their backgrounds were heaven-defying, their Talent was heaven-defying, and their strength was heaven-defying. Throughout history, any expert capable of traveling to the Chaos Main City was destined to be remembered for millennia!
Therefore, the various demon cities showed the Celestial Wolf Ancestor great face, hoping to leave a good impression. Upon receiving all sorts of Treasures of Heaven and Earth and exceptionally rare Cultivation Resources, the Celestial Wolf Ancestor was quite satisfied and exchanged a few pleasantries with the crowd.
But before he could exchange more than a few pleasantries, someone suddenly shouted, “Quick, look! The sky is changing over there!”
That shout was all it took to draw everyone’s attention. Gazing into the distance, they saw that a section of the southern sky had indeed turned black, as if a dark tide was rolling in to devour everything.
It advanced with incredible speed, swallowing the skyline in an instant. The sky above their own heads began to change color prematurely, and the light dimmed. The city’s various lamps, once exceptionally bright, were now reduced to a firefly-like glimmer. They swayed like lanterns on a lone boat in a storm, completely beyond control!
A Gale raged and Thunder erupted. A majestic pressure descended, stunning every member of the Demon Race present. The Ancestor Level figures were frozen in place, their Souls trembling, yet they forced themselves to appear calm.
But how could they possibly maintain such a pretense? If they couldn’t withstand it, they couldn’t withstand it. Fear was fear. As their part of the world also dimmed and plunged into darkness, they began to tremble uncontrollably. It seemed that only the Celestial Wolf Ancestor remained outwardly unfazed, but no one noticed the terror in his eyes or the trembling of his fingers.
The others were afraid, simply cowering before the pressure, but he was different. He was someone who had touched the realm beyond the one above the Transformation Realm—the True Body Realm. The threshold to enter this Realm was incredibly high!
He had pursued it for over ten thousand years without grasping it. Only recently had he finally found some clues, feeling as if he could faintly touch the threshold of the next level.
Yes, merely touching it. There was no guarantee of a successful breakthrough. Thus, he knew all too well how vast the gap was. In fact, he had even attempted a forced breakthrough before, but a fear that stemmed from the depths of his being had crushed the thought.
‘If I were to force a breakthrough and fail, I would be reduced to dust and ashes, never to be reborn. I would be utterly destroyed, and everything I’ve built would no longer be mine.’
The price was far too great. Without absolute confidence, he would never dare to attempt it. That was why he planned to use this birthday banquet to gather all manner of Treasures of Heaven and Earth and Cultivation Resources to prepare for his next move.
Indeed, everything he did was to lay the groundwork for his own breakthrough; he didn’t dare make any rash attempts. However, he was extremely sensitive to the aura of a breakthrough. In this situation, someone was undoubtedly breaking through, and the pressure was immeasurably more terrifying than he could have ever imagined!
For a moment, he thought it was an Ancestor from the Chaos Main City breaking through into one of the legendary realms. After all, even having lived for tens of thousands of years, he had never witnessed such a phenomenon!
It was no exaggeration to say that once this Thunder Tribulation fully activated, Celestial Wolf City, home to millions of the Demon Race, could be annihilated in an instant. The only saving grace was that this was not the epicenter. They were merely on the periphery, which meant there was a sliver of hope for survival…
