Chapter 584 Entering Beimu Mountain Range

The Celestial Wolf Ancestor was more informed about this matter. He knew that a world-ending calamity had been sensed and was imminent, making the coming years incredibly dangerous.

It could arrive within a thousand years, a hundred years, or even, most likely, within the next decade. In short, the world-ending calamity was drawing ever closer. The only solution was to head to Chaos Main City and find an opportunity to break through to the Second Celestial Realm. Of course, Tai Lake also offered such a chance. After all, it was the dwelling place of one of the First Celestial Realm’s strongest experts, so an opportunity was bound to be there.

One noteworthy point was that even when the strongest experts of the other two major powers broke through to the Second Celestial Realm, the Tai Python remained in the First Celestial Realm. It seemed to dwell there permanently, and no one knew when it had first appeared.

In other words, any mention of Tai Lake was inextricably linked to the Tai Python. No matter how many years passed, or how the other great experts broke through to higher realms, it always remained.

Indeed, as one Demon Emperor and Chaos Ancestor after another broke through to the Second Celestial Realm, the Tai Python would invariably remain in the First Celestial Realm. This was one of its defining traits.

Furthermore, whenever conflict erupted between the other two great races, it would simply guard Tai Lake, never getting involved. It didn’t even care much when some members of the Demon Race came to steal its treasures—or rather, it didn’t care at all. They simply became a casual dinner or a light snack.

It was for this reason that most members of the Demon Race dreamed of traveling to Tai Lake to seek their fortune. However, the Beimu Mountain Range blocked their path, so very few of them ever actually made it there and received a heavenly opportunity. Of course, it wasn’t unheard of. Some had even gone there and successfully achieved the True Body Realm!

Yet the Tai Python couldn’t care less. To it, this loss of resources was as insignificant as a speck of dust, not even worth mentioning.

In contrast, in the middle ranks of the Primitive Ancient Forest, only a handful of Super True Dominators—beings above the Transformation Realm—would manage a true breakthrough to the True Body Realm over countless years. The Celestial Wolf Ancestor, for instance, only succeeded because of an opportunity granted by the Nine-tailed Fox God, and he willingly became a devout follower of the Nine-tailed Fox God in return!

This just went to show how powerful the True Body Realm was and what a lofty status it conferred. Once the Celestial Wolf Ancestor secured a position in Chaos Main City, his own standing would rise even higher. Even the small favors he might then bestow upon Nine-tailed Fox City would be considered immeasurable blessings!

For the Taihu Python, however, cultivating a True Body Realm expert didn’t seem all that difficult. As long as a member of the Demon Race had decent or even outstanding talent, it could casually bestow some Treasures of Heaven and Earth upon them, enabling a breakthrough to the True Body Realm.

Of course, no one knew if it bestowed these gifts as casually as it seemed. Regardless, the Taihu Python didn’t care. It would just occasionally devour some of the weaker or unluckier members of the Demon Race when it felt hungry.

From the Taihu Python’s perspective, aside from the peak experts of the other two races, every other living creature was likely pathetically weak. There was no doubt about it.

Recalling all this made Ah Xiong a little timid. She had heard many legends about the Taihu Python while traveling with Jiang Qiu. A single flick of its tail could stir up towering waves hundreds of feet high. If not for the Beimu Mountain Range acting as a barrier, it could have easily flooded the entire Primitive Ancient Forest.

One could say that without the barrier of the Beimu Mountain Range, the Primitive Ancient Forest couldn’t even exist. Such was the intimidating power of the Taihu Python!

Thus, Ah Xiong couldn’t help but feel a deep-seated fear of the Taihu Python. However, the thought that she was carrying two powerful beings, Jiang Qiu and One-tailed, made her feel much more secure.

‘In my eyes,’ she thought, ‘my mysterious master, Jiang Qiu, has given me an unprecedented opportunity. Without him, I’d probably still be wandering the outer edges of the Primitive Ancient Forest, getting bullied by the other members of the Demon Race. Without him, I never would have reached the Perfect Transformation Realm, just one step away from the next High Realm! ‘

‘And then there’s Sister One-tailed. She also makes me feel so safe. Even though there’s a whole High Realm separating us now, and her aura is more terrifying than ever… even though she radiates this divine presence that isn’t aimed at me, she’s not as cold as she used to be. She’s actually more lively.’

‘It’s a strange feeling. Sister One-tailed has become more divine, and her form has matured, yet she’s more vivacious than ever. She’s been gazing at the scenery this whole time. Even now, with the Beimu Mountain Range blocking our way, she’s just lying on my furry back, craning her little head to gaze into the distance, completely captivated and fascinated by the sight of the mountains and rivers.’

‘Her master, sitting behind her, is even holding her by the waist, worried she might lose her grip and fall off. But then I remember what Realms we’ve all reached. How could something like that possibly happen?’

One-tailed asked curiously, “Master, are we going around, or are we going through the Beimu Mountain Range?”

She secretly hoped they would cross through the Beimu Mountain Range. ‘I have a feeling there are a lot of fun things in there,’ she thought. ‘Some really powerful things.’

Ever since experiencing that Thunder Tribulation, she had not only awakened her divine nature but also gained a faint yet powerful Perception Power that allowed her to sense many interesting possibilities.

For example, while even Jiang Qiu couldn’t see through the mysteries of the Beimu Mountain Range, she could faintly perceive a unique opportunity hidden within it. The sensation was marvelous.

‘In other words, going through the Beimu Mountain Range would be more intense, not so boring. And I like an interesting life. I like encountering things I’ve never seen before, even if they’re enemies.’

Jiang Qiu, however, had far more to consider. ‘I’ve always wanted to complete the Dragon Emperor Inheritance Secret Realm as quickly as possible,’ he thought, ‘but now it feels like I won’t be able to break through anytime soon.’

‘Almost ten years have passed, and I’ve only cultivated to this world’s middle tier. Even that might be an overstatement. After all, I haven’t even met any of the truly important figures of this First Celestial Realm. I haven’t seen Chaos Main City, nor have I seen Demon Main City.’

‘If I can’t even manage that, it feels like these ten years have been a complete waste. That’s why I need to get to Tai Lake as fast as possible and gather enough resources!’

‘If I get the chance, I hope I can complete the Refinement of my Dragon Race bloodline there. I need to break through to the highest realm as quickly as possible, leave this entire First Celestial Realm, and ascend to the Second Celestial Realm.’

‘I used to think the First Celestial Realm would be a minor Secret Realm I could clear in a flash. With my Talent and experience, I figured it would be easy to ascend.’

‘Then I’d easily break through several Celestial Realms, only running into real trouble in the final few. I never expected to be stuck in the First Celestial Realm for so long. If the flow of time here is the same as outside, by the time I get back, the Dusk Holy Ruins will already be over, won’t they?!’

‘If the flow of time really is the same… forget the Dusk Holy Ruins, even Liu Zili’s life might be over. Everything… everything will have been turned upside down.’

‘For instance, without my name to protect it, how could Blue Star possibly remain safe? And if Venerable Zuo Xuan from the Nine Venerable Great Realm survived the Dusk Holy Ruins, what would he do to Blue Star?!’

‘And while all that is happening, I’m still here, slogging my way through the First Celestial Realm of the Dragon Emperor Secret Realm, without any sign of a shortcut!’

Taking a detour would mean wasting several more years, maybe even a decade. Jiang Qiu couldn’t bear to wait any longer. So, he announced his decision resolutely, “I’m going to cross directly through the Beimu Mountain Range and head to Tai Lake to find the Tai Python. If I can, I’ll use the resources there to break through and transform. Besides, it’ll be a good chance to put some of my Talents to use!”

With that, he led Ah Xiong and One-tailed into the sky-piercing Beimu Mountain Range, as inconspicuous as a single speck of dust.
