Chapter 591: Spirit Fruit Forest

The true Resource Island is indeed located within Tai Lake, and one must cross its waters to get there. Without the ability to fly or some special means of traversing the water, it’s essentially unreachable. However, a portion of the Demon Race with very low Realms still benefit from the area. Of course, the Spirit Fruits they obtain don’t come from the Resource Island itself, but from the flatlands at the foot of the Beimu Mountain Range.

Yes, that forest is where many powerful members of the Demon Race reside. In the beginning, no demons lived here, but as more and more arrived, a Settlement gradually formed. Furthermore, because a large number of Spirit Fruits were planted, the environment improved. The concentration of Heaven and Earth Spirit Charm is so high that it could be called a paradise.

This very place is home to countless Spirit Fruits. At a glance, one can spot many that are beneficial even to Dominators, and even Great Dominators. All of these were planted by those Great Demons.

According to the Exiled Great Demon, this place was originally just a barren patch of land with nothing special about it. But later, some demons brought back seeds from the Resource Island and left them here. Gradually, some of the Little Demon Races gathered, helping to cultivate the Spirit Fruits while practicing their own Cultivation. Before they knew it, many years had passed. The Little Demons of yesterday evolved into Great Demons, and even began to proactively travel to the Resource Island to acquire more Spirit Fruits.

Unfortunately, no matter how powerful a Great Demon they became, to the Tai Python, they were nothing more than Food. Sometimes, they could indeed take advantage of the Tai Python’s rest to bring back rarer seeds, or even find an opportunity to ascend beyond the True Body Realm. In most cases, however, they still perished.

So, eventually, this group of demons stopped trying to venture to the Resource Island for Spirit Fruit resources. Instead, they went into the business of helping others cross the lake. Alternatively, they used the resources from the Resource Island to plant this vast Spirit Fruit Forest, luring in some of the Little Demon Races to eat, then capturing a portion to work for them.

This Settlement, known as the Spirit Fruit Forest, has developed over countless years into a truly grand sight. It is many times larger than Nine-tailed Fox City—a vast, seemingly boundless forest.

In the past, the Exiled Great Demon would also visit this place, occasionally snatching a few Little Demons who had crossed over from the Primitive Ancient Forest for a meal. But he eventually found it troublesome, and felt it was improper to keep doing such things on another’s territory, so he stopped coming. After that, his Realm fell to the True Body Realm, where it has remained ever since.

“My Lord, if you wish to travel to the Resource Island to acquire some resources, you could negotiate with the Forest Lord of the Spirit Fruit Forest. He may be able to help you cross the lake.”

Hearing the Exiled Great Demon’s words, Jiang Qiu pondered for a moment before turning his gaze back to the rolling waves on the lake’s surface. “Must we have the demons of the Spirit Fruit Forest help? Can’t we just cross the water directly?”

‘Crossing the water simply means relying on a large ship to sail across, or just flying over. In fact, even Ah Xiong can fly at his current level, and building a ship is hardly a difficult task.’

‘So, I can probably go directly,’ Jiang Qiu thought. ‘There’s no need to bother the Great Demons of the Spirit Fruit Forest. Of course, if possible, I’d also like to trade for some resources in the Spirit Fruit Forest, cultivate for a while, and help One-tailed break through to the True Body Realm.’

The current situation was that One-tailed—that is, the Nine-tailed Fox’s true self—only needed a small catalyst to break through to the True Body Realm. But that catalyst was what he lacked, which was why they had come to Tai Lake to find it.

And as long as One-tailed and the Nine-tailed Fox could break through, he too would reap great benefits. He could quickly reach the level above the Transformation Realm, becoming a Super True Dominator.

Although his Dragon Race bloodline made his Cultivation speed relatively slow and steady, preventing any sort of explosive growth, his power was absolutely overwhelming. Even an opponent a full High Realm above him wasn’t guaranteed to win!

But even so, it didn’t change the fact that his Realm progression was too slow. He had to cultivate as quickly as possible to achieve Enlightenment and enter the Second Celestial Realm sooner. Unfortunately, he couldn’t speed up his own Cultivation; even with abundant resources, their quality was too low to have any real effect.

He had come to Tai Lake specifically because he’d heard it held incredibly precious resources. He also intended to investigate the secrets of reaching the Second Celestial Realm. Besides, if One-tailed grew stronger, it was the same as him growing stronger.

When he had helped the Nine-tailed Fox cultivate the “Nine-tailed Form,” he had willingly become its second incarnation, allowing him to share in the Nine-tailed Fox’s cultivation results. Its Realm advancements were reflected back onto him, which was an incredibly convenient arrangement.

As long as the Nine-tailed Fox or its incarnations could rapidly cultivate and grow stronger, Jiang Qiu himself could do the same. That was why he had chosen to consistently nurture One-tailed and the Nine-tailed Fox!

‘But now I’ve run into a bit of a snag,’ he mused. ‘It seems I can’t just cross the water to the incredibly bountiful Resource Island. Do I have to stay in the far inferior Spirit Fruit Forest for a while and negotiate?’

“Yes, My Lord. We cannot cross the water directly, as we might disturb the Tai Python. As you must know, the Tai Python resides in the depths of Tai Lake. It might roll over and surface, grab a casual meal, and devour thousands of demons in a single go. Even so-called Super True Dominators are not safe. If your luck is bad, even those at the True Body Realm can be eaten.”
