My Celestial Ascension

Chapter 1053: Revealing The Truth To Patricia

  • Next Chapter

Patricia opened her eyes as the room fell silent following the gunshots. The moment she saw the scene before her, she was completely stunned.

’W-What the hell just happened? So many of them are dead...but how?’

She scanned the room and noticed that every dead gang member had a clean cut across their body, as if a single strike had sliced through them all.

And that wasn’t all. She also noticed a massive slash running along the walls, cutting through the concrete at exactly the same height as the wounds that had bisected the gang members.

’T-This is insane...’

She covered her mouth, her eyes widening in disbelief.

’How could a normal human cut down several people at once and slice through two thick concrete walls at the same time?!’

’Even with a razor-sharp weapon, it’s completely impossible to accomplish something like this... Just who exactly is Yuan?’

Questions flooded her mind. Nothing about the scene before her made any sense. What she had just witnessed was beyond the limits of human capability. Even advanced technology shouldn’t have made something like this possible.

"Get ready. They’re coming."

Yuan’s voice snapped her out of her daze. At the same time, she heard several sets of footsteps approaching.

"The gunshots must have alerted everyone in the building. Now they’re coming for us," she said, her voice serious as she assessed the situation.

As a businesswoman, she had learned to remain calm under pressure and evaluate situations rationally, even in the most tense circumstances.

"Stay behind me, just like before. I’ll protect you while taking them down at the same time," Yuan said.

"I-I understand..."

Patricia didn’t ask any questions and immediately moved behind him.

"This sword is too big to use in a place like this," Yuan muttered, glancing at the sword in his hand.

In the blink of an eye, the massive sword disappeared, replaced by a wooden sword in his grasp.

"This should be more than enough to deal with a few foolish mortals."

He firmly gripped the wooden sword with one hand and smiled.

’What is he planning to do with that wooden practice sword? Can he even fight them with that thing? They have guns!’

Patricia screamed internally as she watched Yuan wield the wooden sword.

"There he is! Get him!"

"He... He killed our men! Shoot him down!"

The gang members were shocked to find their comrades lying dead on the floor. Without hesitation, they drew their guns and aimed at Yuan.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Several gang members immediately opened fire, unleashing a hail of bullets at Yuan with the intention of riddling his body with holes.

But Yuan moved.

In his eyes, the world slowed to a crawl. With effortless precision, he wielded the wooden sword, deflecting every incoming bullet.

Within a microsecond, he infused the wooden sword with his Sword Aura and swung it, cutting down every gang member except one.

In the blink of an eye, Yuan had eliminated nearly everyone in the room. The gunfire ceased as abruptly as it had begun, leaving behind an eerie silence.

"Huh?"

Patricia opened her eyes, dumbfounded by the scene before her.

Every gang member lay dead on the floor, blood spreading around their bodies. In the middle of the carnage stood Yuan, calmly holding his wooden sword as though nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

"HIIIKK!"

A high-pitched scream shattered the silence as the lone surviving gang member stared at Yuan in utter despair.

Yuan turned toward the man with a smirk and took a step forward.

The man immediately staggered backward, his face twisted with terror.

"S-Stay away from me... You monster!" he screamed as he stumbled and fell onto his backside.

"D-Don’t come any closer! I’ll shoot!"

Bang!

The man raised his gun with a trembling hand and fired another shot at Yuan.

However, Yuan didn’t even bother to dodge. He simply stood there and let the bullet hit him.

Thud!

The bullet struck him squarely in the chest, right where his heart was.

Yet, instead of piercing his flesh, the bullet shattered upon impact, breaking into tiny fragments that scattered across the floor.

"Yuan!!"

Patricia screamed the moment she heard the gunshot, her heart pounding with fear.

"Don’t worry. I’m fine. Toys like these can’t hurt me at all."

Yuan turned around and gave her a reassuring smile.

"H-How is this even possible...?"

Patricia stared at him with a stunned expression.

She had clearly seen the man fire his gun and the bullet strike Yuan directly in the chest. And yet, apart from a hole in his T-shirt, there wasn’t a single wound on his body.

No blood. No injury. Nothing.

’T-The bullet clearly hit him... How did he survive that? And he doesn’t even have a wound or any bleeding... How is this even humanly possible?!’

She stared at Yuan in utter disbelief, struggling to comprehend what she had just witnessed.

And she wasn’t the only one in disbelief.

The gang member who had pulled the trigger was equally horrified. He stared at Yuan as though he were looking at a monster disguised as a human.

"Y-You monster... Stay away from me!"

Yuan paid no attention to the man’s terrified cries. With a casual swing of his wooden sword, he severed the arm holding the gun, ensuring the man could no longer threaten Patricia.

"AAGHHH!!"

The man let out a bloodcurdling scream as he clutched his injured arm.

"Now, tell me how many members your gang has and where they are right now," Yuan demanded coldly, placing the tip of his wooden sword against the man’s neck.

"I-I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything! Please, don’t kill me! I-I want to live!"

The man pleaded desperately, feeling the tip of the sword pressing against his throat.

Although the weapon was made of wood rather than metal, he had no doubt that Yuan could kill him instantly if he tried anything foolish.

"Then talk. Don’t waste my time if you want to live."

"Y-Yes..."

The man nodded frantically, too terrified to resist.

"Our gang has two hundred members! Our boss is currently away on business. There were eighty of us in this building before you arrived, but you killed everyone except me!"

"Then where are the rest?" Yuan asked, narrowing his eyes.

"They’re scattered throughout the city, collecting payments or carrying out jobs for the boss!" the man immediately replied.

"When will they return?"

"I-I don’t know! Most of them come back at night, but sometimes they don’t return at all!"

"Is that so? Then you’re useless to me."

Yuan’s expression remained unchanged as he thrust his wooden sword forward.

"Cough!"

The man coughed violently before collapsing, his life ending almost immediately.

Yuan withdrew his sword and turned around, only to find Patricia staring at him with a fearful expression.

"Patricia, are you all right? Are you hurt anywhere?" he asked with genuine concern.

"I-I’m fine... I’m not hurt at all," she replied, forcing a smile.

"Good. I was worried that a bullet might pass through me and hit you."

Yuan let out a soft sigh of relief.

Patricia awkwardly shifted her gaze toward him, unsure how to begin. After a moment of hesitation, she finally gathered her courage.

"Um, Yuan... could you tell me what’s actually going on? I have so many questions running through my mind that I’m going crazy."

She took a small breath before continuing.

"Please, tell me what you really are. No normal human could do the things you just did. I want to know!"

She stared directly into his eyes, her expression filled with curiosity and apprehension.

Yuan remained silent for a few seconds before letting out a deep sigh.

"Earlier, I told you that I was raised in that orphanage. That wasn’t a lie," he explained softly.

"Then what about Anna Grace? Isn’t she your mother? Or did she adopt you?" Patricia asked, looking puzzled.

"Not at all. She’s my real mother... although, technically, she isn’t one person but two. Anna and Grace are two different individuals. That’s why the name is Anna Grace," Yuan revealed.

Patricia stared at him, completely stunned, as she struggled to process his unexpected revelation.

Seeing her stunned expression, Yuan chuckled and said, "If you investigate my background, you’ll find out that I’m technically an orphan. But two years ago, everything changed."

Yuan then began recounting his story, explaining how he had died in this world with regrets and been given a second chance at life in an entirely different world.

He told her about the new companions he had met during his journey to find a way back to this world, revealing that all the women accompanying him were his wives—with the exception of two.

He also explained how his arrival at Mount Kailash had triggered a natural disaster that claimed numerous lives.

After hearing his entire story, Patricia stared at Yuan with a dazed expression.

She was utterly dumbfounded. His story was so extraordinary that she could hardly believe a word of it. However, after witnessing his incredible abilities firsthand, she had little choice but to accept that he was telling the truth.

"So, you reincarnated in another world and eventually returned to this one... with your family?" she asked, looking thoroughly confused.

"That’s the gist of it. So, yes, I reincarnated in another world and eventually made my way back here," Yuan replied with a smile and a nod.

"This is unbelievable..." she murmured, still struggling to wrap her head around everything she had just learned.

After taking a moment to collect her thoughts, she asked another question.

"And about your mother... is there really another person living inside her body?"

"Actually, no." Yuan shook his head before explaining, "She was born with two souls in a single body. But it’s not as though they were trapped together. They could separate and become two distinct individuals whenever they wanted."

Patricia’s eyes widened in surprise at this revelation.

"So, you mean you actually have two moms?"

"That’s right. I have two moms," Yuan replied with a warm smile.

"In my previous life, I never even knew what my birth mother looked like. But in this life, I was blessed with two of them. That’s a huge blessing to me."
