My Child and I Married a Billionaire

Chapter 390: You’re Dumping Me?

  • Next Chapter

Amina was acting incredibly strange today.

Zeke was speechless for a few seconds after she pushed him out of the bathroom. He ran out to find the housekeeper.

"Did Amina go out to meet someone today? Did something happen to upset her?"

The housekeeper, who was clearing the dining table, paused in surprise.

"She didn’t go out to see anyone, she was perfectly fine... oh, wait, I remember now. She did go out for a little while. When she got back, she went straight to her room to sleep. I don’t know who she saw."

’She went out, and came back just to go to sleep? That has to be it.’

Zeke went back to the room.

When Amina came out after her shower, he stared at her face.

"What on earth is wrong with you today? Who did you go see? What did they say to you? What upset you?"

Amina didn’t know a soul in Veridia. He couldn’t for the life of him figure out what had gotten to her.

Amina bit her lip, saying nothing. This was what Zeke had been afraid of. He sighed and walked over to her.

"Amina, after all we’ve been through, is there anything you can’t tell me? Be honest. What’s wrong? Did someone give you a hard time?"

Amina desperately wanted to tell him: ’Yes, your mother gave me a hard time. My brother and the others gave me a hard time. I don’t want to leave you.’

But she couldn’t.

She knew Zeke usually seemed like a gentleman, but when he truly got angry, he was terrifying.

If he went to violently confront her brother, or if he got into a huge fight with his family... Amina couldn’t imagine the consequences.

He was his parents’ only son. She couldn’t bear the thought of being the one to ruin their relationship.

Zeke kept staring at her. Thinking of the agreement she had signed that day, Amina slowly lifted her gaze.

"No one bothered me. I ran into an old classmate today. It was someone I had a crush on when I was a kid... and he said he likes me too..."

A ringing filled Zeke’s head. He felt like he’d been struck by lightning.

He never imagined *this* would be the reason Amina was picking a fight with him.

"A childhood classmate you had a crush on? And he likes you too? What the hell does that mean?"

Amina bit her lip, trying several times before she could speak.

"Zeke, we’re not right for each other. I think he and I are a better fit. Seeing him made me realize I’ve never forgotten him all these years."

Zeke stared at her, his eyes fixed on her face. He felt like he didn’t even know her anymore.

Ever since getting to know Amina, the two were rarely apart. Other than for work, he had never seen her interact with anyone else.

He’d always thought Amina’s world was simple and pure. He believed anyone else might betray him, but never her. And yet...

Zeke couldn’t accept it.

Growing up, hadn’t everyone doted on him, treating him like a prince? He hadn’t even batted an eye when a goddess from a prominent family like Simone Vaughn chased after him. Yet, he’d fallen for a woman who had nothing, and now this woman was dumping him?!

"What the fuck do you mean? You’re dumping me? You’re going to be with someone else? Do you have any idea what you’re saying?"

Zeke’s voice suddenly grew louder, and he stared at her like an enraged lion. Amina was startled.

She knew Zeke was deeply hurt and in pain. She was in pain too, but what else could she do?

"I’m sorry, Zeke..."

"Sorry?"

Zeke waited for several seconds, only to get those two words from her. He completely lost it.

"You fucking say sorry to me? So you’ve already decided, is that it? You two planned it all out, and you’re going to be with him? You’re dropping out of school? Or is he so capable he can support you and your grandmother? You’re going to run off to him? Good. Really good! Fucking great!"

With a CRASH, Zeke swept all the bottles and jars he’d bought for Amina off the vanity and onto the floor.

His shouting and the sound of things crashing startled her grandmother and the housekeeper, and they both came rushing in.

"What happened? Why are you fighting? Amina, Zeke..."

Zeke whipped his head around, glaring resentfully at Amina’s grandmother.

"Ask your precious granddaughter! Ask her what wonderful thing she’s done! Fuck! I can’t believe this is happening to me. I raised a goddamn backstabber! How fucking amusing!"

With that, Zeke couldn’t stand to be in the room a second longer. He turned and stormed out.

The housekeeper hurried after him. "It must be a misunderstanding, right? You should talk it out, Zeke! Don’t leave! Zeke! Zeke..."

She couldn’t stop him. The door SLAMMED shut with a bang.

The housekeeper ran back to check on Amina, who was still standing there, dazed.

"What on earth happened? Is there something you can’t talk about properly? Amina, how could you let Zeke leave? You should have stopped him!"

Amina remained silent.

The housekeeper was at a loss. She glanced from one to the other, feeling like an outsider in the end, and quietly slipped out.

With a quiet sigh, her grandmother walked over to her side and reached for her hand.

"What really happened?"

Tears streamed down Amina’s face, but her voice was eerily calm.

"It’s nothing. Zeke and I are breaking up. I’m sorry, Grandma. I’ll look for a new place tomorrow. We’ll leave."

Her grandmother was shocked. "It’s that serious? You’re breaking up? Just like that? But why?"

Amina hadn’t wanted to tell her grandmother the truth, but she had to give her an explanation, a reason that would convince her.

"I met Zeke’s mother. Their family is very, very rich, and his mother looks down on me."

Her grandmother fell silent.

This reason left her speechless.

She knew their circumstances all too well. If his parents didn’t approve, then there was nothing to be done.

They might be poor, but they had their pride. As a woman herself, she understood the predicament all too well and didn’t want to see her granddaughter living like a dog in someone else’s home, constantly being mistreated.

"Alright. Then we’ll move out tomorrow."

Zeke stormed out of the apartment and got into his car. He slammed his fists on the steering wheel again and again in frustration, with no idea where to go.

’How could something so absurd happen to him? It was laughable! He wanted to just drive away and leave that ungrateful woman behind for good!’

’But then again, why should I?’

’Amina was cuckolding him! She fucking dared to cuckold him!’

He threw the car door open and stormed back into the apartment building.

The worried housekeeper was in the kitchen washing dishes when she heard the door open again. She turned, saw Zeke had returned, and rushed out, pleasantly surprised.

"That’s more like it. Every couple fights. Running off after an argument just makes people sad. It’s good that you’re back. Just talk things through properly."

Zeke ignored her completely, rushing into the bedroom like a gust of wind.

Her grandmother had just finished speaking with Amina and was about to head back to her own room to pack when he appeared before her.

"Zeke..."

Zeke ignored her too, moving past the grandmother to grab Amina by the wrist.

"Who is that guy? Where is he? Take me to him!"

’Amina thought they were done, that they had broken up for good. She never expected Zeke to come back, let alone demand to meet this other man.’

’There was no one for him to meet. She’d made the whole thing up.’

She stood frozen in place.

Seeing her expression, which looked to him like she was vowing to defend this other man to the death, only made Zeke even more furious.

"You’re going today whether you like it or not! You have the guts to do something so shameful but not the guts to face the consequences? I’ve never been fucking cuckolded in my entire life! Come with me. We’re going to see him, and I’m going to kill that bastard!"
