Chapter 62: Forgive Me?

Chapter 62: Forgive Me?

Chapter 62

All of the Dark Reaper members were stunned by the quick escalation of events happening right before their eyes; they weren’t even able to properly follow what was going on.

All they knew was that their leader had just let out an agonizing scream unlike anything they had ever heard from him before, as if he were suffering unbearable pain.

Wait... he was suffering unbearable pain. Another agonizing scream soon followed as Ozaki’s right ear was sliced clean off his head; what made the gruesome injury far more horrifying was the fact that the pain from each wound seemed to be amplified tremendously.

No... it was more than doubled, more than tripled. Ozaki hurriedly created distance between himself and Liyu, whose green lightning blade was still dripping with his blood.

He touched the side of his head with his left hand where blood continued to ooze endlessly, while his right hand was already ruined, all five fingers having been sliced clean off.

If anything, he was still reeling from the unimaginable pain; what kind of enchantment did those emerald lightning blades possess to inflict this much agony through a single injury?

Yet he didn’t even have time to think for more than a few seconds before he saw the green-haired monster lean forward once again. Ozaki’s eyes widened; Liyu was coming again.

In panic, Ozaki rushed toward his axe and desperately swung it in an attempt to defend himself; unfortunately, it was a hopeless endeavor. Just like before, Liyu effortlessly evaded the strike, and then he attacked.

This time he didn’t merely cut off fingers; instead, he severed Ozaki’s entire left arm from the shoulder. A violent spray of blood exploded into the air; the world was instantly painted crimson as blood mist filled the surroundings.

Ozaki’s severed arm crashed onto the ground with a loud thud, but that wasn’t the end... in fact, it was only the beginning.

The very next moment, pain unlike anything Ozaki had ever experienced throughout his brutal years of living assaulted every nerve in his body.

He collapsed to his knees, and an agonizing scream tore from his throat: "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The scream shook the hearts of every Dark Reaper present; their breathing hitched, their eyes trembled, and their hearts shuddered violently.

It was almost as if they could feel the pain Ozaki was experiencing deep within their own souls, and if that feeling was even remotely accurate... then it was truly horrifying.

Ozaki, on the other hand, was still trapped within that ocean of pain; he knelt there trembling violently, and tears streamed down his face uncontrollably from the sheer agony his body was being subjected to.

Someone watching from afar might have thought he was exaggerating, and they would have been terribly mistaken.

Ozaki’s tolerance for pain was extremely high; after all, he had grown up in a brutal environment, had suffered countless injuries, and had experienced starvation, torture, broken bones, and near-death experiences.

He understood pain better than most, yet every pain he had ever experienced paled in comparison to what he was feeling right now.

The reason was simple: every time Liyu struck him with those emerald lightning swords, the pain inflicted by the wound was amplified tremendously due to the nature of the lightning itself.

The lightning didn’t merely damage flesh; it stimulated every nerve surrounding the injury. As a result, every wound inflicted by Liyu felt more than five times worse than it normally should have.

So yes... every injury that should have been painful had its agony multiplied many times over by the emerald lightning.

Liyu’s gaze remained deathly cold as he spoke calmly: "Your hell is only beginning. Don’t even think about giving up yet. And don’t even think about dying. I made a promise, didn’t I? You are going to die in the most painful way possible."

Ozaki’s eyes widened; his mind reeled from the thought of suffering even more of this unbearable torture. At that moment, he completely broke.

Without hesitation, he scrambled into a bowing position; his wounds were still pouring blood endlessly, yet he no longer cared about them.

Right now, all he cared about was survival: "Please forgive me! I’ll do whatever you want! Anything! Just spare my life! I would even be willing to become your slave if you wish! Please spare me! I was foolish! I was wrong to challenge you!" Ozaki had completely given up on fighting.

It was painfully obvious now; whether he was two realms above Liyu or not didn’t matter... he wasn’t this young monster’s opponent.

This monster possessed power that he could only imagine belonging to a late-stage Qi Refining expert, perhaps even a peak Qi Refining expert. Liyu’s gaze remained deathly calm: "You are willing to serve me?" Ozaki’s eyes instantly lit up; hope surged through his chest.

He nodded frantically and slammed his forehead against the ground repeatedly: "Yes! Yes! I promise I won’t step out of line! I’ll obey every order! I’ll do anything!"

He desperately tried to convince Liyu to spare him. Liyu slowly began walking toward him, one step, then another. His footsteps were calm and steady... neither hurried nor slow.

Each step felt like a countdown toward judgment itself. Eventually, he stopped directly in front of the kneeling Ozaki: "I should forgive you?" Liyu asked calmly. "Yes! Please!" Ozaki cried while smashing his forehead against the floor once again.

"And you would be willing to become my slave and obey my every command?" Liyu asked in that same calm tone. Ozaki nodded furiously: "Yes! I’ll become your slave! I’ll do whatever you tell me! I swear it!"

There was a brief moment of silence, then Liyu finally spoke again: "I see. That sounds like a reasonable proposal." As he said those words, Liyu extended his hand toward Ozaki as though offering a handshake.

Seeing that hand, hope exploded within Ozaki’s chest; he genuinely believed he had survived. Without hesitation, he raised his ruined right hand.

Though all of his fingers had already been cut off, he still tried to return the handshake using the remains of his hand. The moment their hands touched... Liyu suddenly tightened his grip.

CRACK! A sickening sound echoed throughout the cave. The bones in Ozaki’s hand shattered instantly; another devastating wave of pain crashed through his senses.

Ozaki’s eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets; a miserable whimper escaped his mouth as the last traces of hope inside him began to crumble.

He turned, wanting to ask why Liyu had done that... after all, hadn’t he just agreed to allow Ozaki to serve him?... yet the moment his gaze locked onto Liyu’s eyes, a deep primal terror seized Ozaki’s heart.

He nearly screamed in horror. Liyu’s gaze was that of a devil who wanted nothing more than to rip him apart in the most gruesome way possible; those eyes burned with immense fury and savage hatred.

The killing intent within them was so dense that Ozaki felt his blood turn to ice: "Forgive you? Never." His grip tightened. CRACK! Ozaki’s entire hand was crushed beneath that terrifying pressure.

Before he could even scream, Liyu hurled him high into the air. The force behind the throw was so immense that Ozaki shot upward like a cannonball. Liyu’s feral grin widened. Forgive him? His foot.

He had only just begun the punishment. His arms spread apart as two long blades forged from crackling emerald lightning formed within his grasp; violent arcs of lightning danced around his body: "I’m going to skin you alive, you damn bastard."

His voice was low and dangerous enough to send chills down the spine of every Dark Reaper present. The members of the Dark Reapers felt their hearts sink; fear spread through the cave like an unstoppable plague.

Liyu’s body erupted with green lightning, then he moved... a flash, a blur. The second ear was removed in a single strike; blood sprayed through the air. Yet that was only the beginning; Liyu appeared around Ozaki repeatedly.

His body became a streak of emerald lightning as he spiraled around the airborne man at terrifying speed.

His blades flashed again and again; each strike carved away another section of flesh; each strike removed more skin; each strike brought unimaginable pain. "You speak of forgiveness," Liyu said coldly, "yet how many of your victims did you ever forgive?"

His blade flashed; one of Ozaki’s legs was severed completely. The pain was so overwhelming that Ozaki nearly blacked out, yet he wasn’t allowed that mercy; before unconsciousness could claim him, violent lightning surged through his body.

The current jolted every nerve awake; it forced him to remain conscious; it forced him to feel every second of the torture; it forced him to endure. "Forgive you?" Liyu continued.

"And yet you never granted any of your victims a painless death." Another slash; the second leg was severed. A fresh scream exploded from Ozaki’s throat; his voice had long since become hoarse, his throat was nearly torn apart from screaming, yet every fresh wound forced another agonizing cry from him.

The amplified pain dug into his soul: "Forgive you? And yet you murdered innocents and slaughtered people who never deserved such cruelty."

Another large section of flesh was carved from Ozaki’s body; blood poured endlessly onto the ground. He was truly being skinned alive, exactly as Liyu had promised from the very beginning.

Ozaki’s screams became increasingly haunting, increasingly desperate, increasingly horrifying.

Minute after minute passed, yet Liyu didn’t stop; instead, he moved faster.

His strikes became even more relentless, more flesh was carved away, more skin was removed, more agony was inflicted; the torture only intensified: "Forgive you? And yet you robbed countless people.

You stole everything they owned and didn’t even allow them to leave with their lives. You are truly despicable." Liyu’s blade flashed once more; the thing he had promised to cut finally fell.

Ozaki’s manhood dropped heavily onto the blood-soaked ground; the severed flesh landed with a wet sound. The blood-soaked earth beneath it was already dyed crimson; in fact, the entire cave floor had become red with blood... Ozaki’s blood.

Liyu continued carving pieces from his body with frightening precision; his expression remained deathly cold. At the same time, he repeatedly directed lightning into the wounds; the electricity surged through every exposed nerve.

The pain became even more unbearable, yet the lightning also kept Ozaki alive; it prevented him from dying; it forced him to continue experiencing every second of his punishment: "Forgive you? And yet you skinned innocent children alive."

Liyu’s voice dripped with venom, pure hatred. The moment those words left his mouth, his attacks became even faster, even more vicious, even more merciless. Blade after blade flashed; Ozaki’s body continued to be skinned alive.

By now, his screams sounded worse than the wails of the damned. The members of the Dark Reapers had all collapsed to their knees; pure terror filled their faces; several of them were crying; others trembled uncontrollably; some were too frightened to even move.

What were they witnessing? Their minds struggled to process it. It felt unreal, yet no matter how much they wished otherwise, this nightmare was reality.

Their leader, the mighty king of the Dark Reapers, the man who had ruled over them for years, the man they had feared and respected... he now looked worse than a corpse, and his endless screams promised them only one thing: they were doomed.

Several long minutes later, after countless screams from Ozaki and countless strikes from Liyu... BOOM! Ozaki’s body finally crashed heavily onto the ground, or rather... what remained of his body.

He looked like nothing more than a grotesque mass of exposed flesh and blood; nearly all of his skin had been removed. His appearance was so dreadful that even looking at him was difficult, yet somehow... he was still alive, barely.

His life was rapidly approaching its end, but he was still breathing, partly because of Ozaki’s extraordinary vitality, and mostly because of Liyu’s deliberate efforts to keep him alive while torturing him.

Liyu stared at the bloody mess lying before him; his gaze slowly returned to calmness, then he spoke: "As I said when I entered this place... I decide who lives. And I decide who dies. And you... you are the first one to die."

Liyu clenched his hand; violent emerald lightning gathered together, and the crackling energy rapidly condensed. Soon, a massive hammer-like fist made entirely of lightning formed before him; without hesitation, he hurled it toward Ozaki’s ruined body.

The moment it connected... BOOM! A deafening explosion echoed throughout the cave; Ozaki’s heart, which had already slowed to a crawl, shattered instantly.

His body followed shortly after; his flesh exploded into countless bloody fragments, pieces scattered throughout the cave. Ozaki, leader of the Dark Reapers, dead; and he had died in a manner so gruesome that even he himself would have considered it excessive.

Unfortunately for him... he had chosen to anger someone capable of even greater madness than himself.
