My Co-renting Lady Boss
Chapter 2341: Strange Inscriptions
There are many methods for refining Immortal Artifacts, with the mainstream ones being Fire Refining, Water Refining, and Qi Refining.
The non?mainstream methods are even more bizarre and varied, yet every refining method ultimately boils down to three results: Shaping, Shaping, and Quenching.
For the three Immortal Artifacts in front of Tang Ming, their Shaping and Quenching used three different methods, but for Shaping they all used the same form.
“This type of Immortal Artifact is used by Magic Cultivators; it seems to have the effect of strengthening a Magic Cultivator’s spiritual power and immortal power. Judging from the shape of the tip and the refining method, it fits into the Water Refining category.”
Tang Ming set the Immortal Artifact in his hand off to the side.
Yao Jian gave a bitter smile, then said, “City Lord Tang Ming, come take a look at this Immortal Artifact. I honestly don’t know how it should be classified.”
“Oh?”
Tang Ming took the Immortal Artifact from Yao Jian’s hand and began examining it carefully.
The Immortal Artifact was covered with irregular lines and some strange symbols. Tang Ming felt that these symbols should be some sort of language from the Blood God Plane, something like annotations.
However, when Immortal Energy was injected into it, those symbols actually lit up, and the Immortal Artifact that had been icy cold in his hand instantly turned scorching hot.
“These are Inscriptions—how can there be such Inscriptions?”
Tang Ming’s mouth fell wide open in surprise.
Hu Jiusheng is an Array Master, and what he excels at most is the Dao of Inscriptions. As Hu Jiusheng’s son?in?law, Tang Ming had followed Hu Jiusheng and learned a great deal about Formations.
But these Inscriptions were ones Tang Ming had never seen before.
“We’re just as surprised. These things are a kind of Inscription we have never seen before. To tell the truth, I’ve done quite a lot of research into Inscriptions myself, yet I still don’t know what Law these Inscriptions ultimately originate from.”
Sidenlo let out a long sigh. He also had research into Inscriptions, but right now he didn’t have the slightest clue.
Tang Ming nodded. “My father?in?law Hu Jiusheng has done a lot of research on this sort of thing. I’ll copy a set and give it to him to take a look. I wonder if that would be acceptable.”
Tang Ming’s gaze fell on Feng Shendao.
After all, this thing was brought here by Feng Shendao, which meant it belonged to Feng Shendao.
Hearing Tang Ming’s words, Feng Shendao grinned. “Of course it’s fine. Handing it over to City Lord Tang Ming to look at is treating City Lord Tang Ming as a friend. What matters most is that City Lord Tang Ming can provide us with some materials.”
Tang Ming nodded. He quickly copied those Inscriptions, then placed them inside the Qiankun Nine Palace Tripod.
Hu Jiusheng wasn’t here, but the Nine-headed Goose Deer was; the Nine-headed Goose Deer’s erudition in Inscriptions was only stronger than Hu Jiusheng’s, not weaker.
“Family Head Feng might not know—at the Immortal Craftsman competition, how confident are you? We absolutely can’t lose to those people from the other Plane.”
Tang Ming let out a long breath, then his eyes fell on Sidenlo standing behind Feng Shendao.
Yao Jian and the others had already told Tang Ming about Sidenlo being a master among Immortal Craftsmen, so Tang Ming wasn’t all that concerned about Feng Shendao; instead he cared more about Sidenlo’s opinion.
Feng Shendao was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing. “City Lord Tang Ming, in all these years my Feng Family has only ever lost once, and that was to your father, Tang Mosheng. This time’s Immortal Craftsman competition is aimed at you. Now we’ve added three pieces of trash from another Plane—hopefully none of you will let me down.”
“Family Head Feng is also an Immortal Craftsman?”
Feng Shendao’s words were within Tang Ming’s expectations, yet also somewhat unexpected.
He knew that this Immortal Craftsman grand competition was targeted at him.
But he was quite surprised that this Feng Shendao, the Feng Family’s Family Head, turned out to be an Immortal Craftsman.
Not only Tang Ming—even Yao Jian and Barton Nake had never heard this news before.
“Heh heh. I’m the Family Head, after all, so I’m usually busy, and I have fewer opportunities for Artifact Refining. So, the fact that I’m also an Artifact Refiner isn’t something many people know.”
Feng Shendao smiled in satisfaction. He was very pleased by how astonished Tang Ming and the others looked.
“I really do need to experience your skills for myself.”
Tang Ming took a deep breath and looked at Feng Shendao with solemn intensity.
This Immortal Craftsman competition was just as important to Tang Ming. If he could ultimately take the championship, then West Continent City would have the advantage when it came to recruiting subordinates.
If he couldn’t win the championship, then when it came time to recruit, he would likely be one step beneath the Feng Family.
Though the Feng Family had no ambition to dominate, they would still try to strengthen their power. Especially with the Blood Ancestor Divine Sect and those Blood God Plane outsiders appearing, the Feng Family felt even more that their power was insufficient.
Tang Ming had heard that in just one afternoon, the Feng Family recruited many strong experts that he himself had previously failed to recruit.
For those experts, West Continent City was too far away. Source Stone City was different. Source Stone City was the most luxurious city near the coastline, and they had often come here in the past.
Being able to settle here and accept recruitment by the Feng Family was without question a great opportunity.
When Hu Mei’er told Tang Ming this, he even felt a faint regret in his heart that he shouldn’t have told the Feng Family about the Blood Ancestor Divine Sect.
But later he thought it through—if he didn’t tell the Feng Family, then the Feng Family’s spearpoint would certainly turn toward him.
In that case, West Continent City and the Feng Family of Source Stone City would become antagonistic, leaving that fellow called Dadun to sit on the mountain and watch the tigers fight, which did not align with Tang Ming’s interests.
“Hahaha, I’ve been looking forward to it.”
Feng Shendao did not evade Tang Ming’s gaze; the battle intent of the two men surged higher and higher.
Watching Feng Shendao leave, Tang Ming took a deep breath and said, “Have someone deliver my Fire Attribute Treasure Ore over. I’m going into seclusion for a few hours.”
Yao Jian and Barton Nake first exchanged a glance, then nodded.
They both understood that Tang Ming was not a true full?time Immortal Craftsman. Usually he focused more on Alchemy; Artifact Refining was something he progressed in greatly only because of Divine Machine Refinement and the Tang Family’s innate talent.
But every Immortal Craftsman has a Forging Hammer that has undergone a blood sacrifice; this is extremely important for Immortal Craftsmen.
Yet Tang Ming still did not have one. He had previously said himself that he would use two pieces of Treasure Ore to forge a Forging Hammer.
Of those two pieces of Treasure Ore, one was the piece stored with the Feng Family, and the other was the one that had been opened later.
Therefore, Tang Ming going into seclusion to forge his Forging Hammer before the grand competition was within their expectations.
“All right, I’ll see to the arrangements for this.”
Yao Jian was the first to walk out.
Barton Nake hesitated for a moment. “City Lord, I wonder, when you forge the Forging Hammer, would I be allowed to observe from the side?”
Tang Ming shook his head. “No. Because this seclusion is extremely important to me, and I don’t want anyone nearby.”
